- Stihl Carburetor Rebuild on a Stihl 036 Chainsaw. My Stihl Chainsaw was "waffling" when in the cut so I put a new gasket kit on the carburetor. Druing the Stihl Carburetor Rebuild I put a new air filter, spark plug and fuel filter on the saw. She is running like a champ now!

Nice job..Clear, basic, and informative instruction.
Wow ! An informative presentation without a dull commentary and dorky music. Thanks.
I also have a Stihl 036 which I have used for 20 years now. The only thing I have changed is the spark plugs. So far my 036 runs perfect. But I will go back to this video the day I have to clean up the carburator and change fuelline. Bad no new screws followed with the new air filter.
You should invest in some non-chip acrylic top coat nail polish to seal those welch plugs. Carburetor cleaner sometimes can be too harsh of a solvent, try using non-flammable break parts cleaner instead to clean surfaces and to spray the high and low speed.
Sometimes, you can spend a few dollars more for a complete carburetor compared to a rebuild kit. A lot of times fuel and air passages are almost impossible to clear. Many repair shops now days do replace then clean and rebuild.
Agreed.
muy buen video donde podemos pedir el aparato para regulas las revoluciones del motor gracias
That was aces
Thanks!
very good!!
How to avoid piston scoring. What is the contribution of carburator to piston scoring, piston damage, please replay me sir.
Very informative, but I did miss hearing your voice!
Je suis marocaine et je suis spécialisé en sa ..je recherche un travail
sir can you tell the name of the scanner that you used to tune the mchine
saved a 34 super from my uncls dumpster . went through saw good compression every thing ok, started it up adjusted a bit but it just keeps running away on me I can keep it calm if I work choke with my thumb but the second I don't it tries to rap out ? sucking air ? or carb problem ?
Wow alat opo yg di tempel eneg ongko" ne mbah.
Great video but I believe it would be a lot better if your were talking and explaining what you are doing.
My 2 cents
thanks. nice vid

Would have liked an explanation of what you were doing. But the work part was good
if you spray out your carb. with carb. cleaner you take a risk of trashing your carb. I was told by a Stihl mech.that the cleaner melts parts on inside of carb. he said use wd 40 or seafoam.
Hey there, I work for stihl, carb cleaner WILL melt your purge primer bulb on that stile of carb, it will also melt some gaskets within the carb and possibly the orings within the accelerator pump, meaning your carb will leak like crazy and possibly could lean seize your machine eventually, causing far more expensive repairs.
I dip mine in carb cleaner after disassembly and then rinse with hot water then blow dry with compressed air. Been doing it that way for years and never had a failure.
Ethanol fuel hurts these carburetors more than anything...Use gasoline without alcohol and your saw will be much happier..
@@joew9392 35 yrs doing the same thing complete disassembly put all metal parts in basket soak in cleaner rinse with water reassemble
Y eso en cuantas vuelta tiene qeser
Great pictures of guys hands and fingers, not so good on the parts of the carb. and their relationship to each other
Not a full rebuild you didnt remove the fulltime jet and clean that causes 90 percent of the problems its under tht rusted piece
I just found out about it today at the stihl dealership it's under the aluminum piece that is pinned down you can see it in your picture you drill a hole in it and pull it out and sometimes there is a screen there to clean or replace to properly clean it you have to tap the jet out and clean the jet. And the fuel passages I ran into this recently on mine the fuel corrosion was terrible
Is it that triangle piece you are talking about at about 5:02 and does it come in a rebuild kit?
What is the part that opens/closes the choke?
Have Phone for ?
I kust bought a 036 Pro at sn auction and need to put a carb kit in it. I know how to kit a carb and tune, but I cannot get the carb out it keeps getting stuck on the handle.
Justin Johnston- did you ever figure out how to get the carb past the handle? I have the same problem. the carb has a little square "window" on the bottome that bumps into the handle.
Yes.
Take the top of the handle off. It is a T27 torx screw.
Lift from the back of the black strip, and it inhooks.
Cood jop
i can tell sone easy and some trics
Gave my ts400 an overhaul cleaned carb exactly the same as this and rebuilt it and the piece of shit still didn't work, bought a cheap copy carb off eBay and it runs. It seems to me that when the carbs go bad you just need to replace them. Anyone else think same way or am I doing something wrong with every Stihl carb. Husqvarna way better than any stihl junk I've owned
I had the same experience. I carefully cleaned and rebuilt the carb, no start. Bought cheap replacement (for about the same price as the rebuild kit) and the saw ran perfectly.
Same problem I just haven't bought the new carb yet.
yea just that easy to rebuild I am a still.mec thay don't allways start up on the second pull
I'll take luck as often as I can get it.
John, as a Stihl mec, would you be a able to help diagnose an issue?
Stihl Wood Boss 028 AV
Saw has been stalling out when it warms up, and getting harder to start. Cleaned the carb, replaced spark plug, and now it seems to idle a lot better, but still needs a few pulls to get it started. Used to be 1-2 pulls.
Any ideas?
Thank you sir
sorry... too damm slow and no explanation at all. Viewers do not know what to do or why when fixing a 2-cycle engine, so they look to vids to present it. see?
Not explaining the situation is not good

You should bring up idle a bit. Recommended value from stihl is 2500rpm for this model.
Anyone know what the metering lever setting is for the Walbro car on these MS2590s? Just rebuilt mine and discovered on the Walbro website that part number 500-13 is needed to set it properly. At 6:34, a straight edge is used in the video but no actual measurement/setting is indicated.

Great detailed video! Did you end up milling at all last weekend? Weather was bad here, and continues to be.
***** We have seen low 80's like 3 times, I think today was like 78, but again it rained! I know what you mean about keeping it straight..I wish I had a shorter bar, the 30 in bar is super nice for felling, but cutting 2x6's with it kinda seems pointless. lol I think the weight of the saw really helps me with keeping it straight, but boy it kills the back trying to cut firewood with it! I look forward to seeing your new videos!
***** It's stupid powerful, mine has a big bore kit and dual port exhaust, so about 92cc, but it's such a specific tool I would almost trade it for a smaller one! I can only bare to wield it for about 10 minutes cutting wood. The grass is always greener on the other side! haha
You did not remove the adjuster screws and blow them out.
Why don't you talk during the video? Wouldnt that have made it's so much more helpful
May as well cut out the sound all together.
Not good didn't show position of the gaskets.
My Pro 036 is bogging down. Not sure if I have to replace or rebuild Carb ?????
It's not a big deal to rebuild the carb. The parts will cost you less than 20 dollars and the time depends on how well you know small engines. Take your time and enjoy the process and you may well have the solution. I'm sure there could be other reasons for bogging, such as a carb out of adjustment or old gas. You might want to post a question on a chainsaw forum and see what they say to check first.
@@CTSCAPER Thanks We already changed to fresh gas, new fuel filter , new spark plug new air filter. Saw starts and runs fine until you start the cut. Then I can run it half speed only. Full speed stalls out the saw.
Wow just like it was brand new! Looks great I want to find an older 0 type model not the ms and see if I can spruce it up and get it working since those where the best saws they made. But then I think will I really bother fixing it
Hammers fix everything....🤣🤣🤣🤣
Dam wrong wrong. Remove the dam Welch plugs and clean the jets. Wow
found it thanks,I have a major on my 034 super
