Ive been preaching Lugia for rotation and so many people have been doubting. Glad to see its seeing success in Japan.
I don't even care about lugia, i'm here for the cinccino!
It was driving me crazy the lugia players little hand flick at every single thing the acreus player did.
Watching this Champions League shows that the format will be nothing like this when it hits the US. There’s too many games that were decided by turn order, bad prizes, mulligans (evidenced here) and early brick because of the Bo1 format. The Bo3 format will show the more consistent side of the format. I do think both of these decks are B tier, and can definitely sneak top 8’s, but adaptations and preemptive deck building will likely show Charizard, PaoBax, and a version of Lost Zone being the top of the list.

Absolutely correct info, though either way the majority would get influenced by the best decks in this tournament, its good to see lugia as a top contender though - just makes miraidon better next format 😂

New to this, looking for a top tier deck list for April rotation. Looking at charizard ex , giratina or lugia. Which one has the highest win rate and can last the longest so as to avoid being rotated early?
I’d go for Lugia or charizard ex, it’s tough to tell which will have the highest win rate because rotation hasn’t happened yet so tournaments haven’t happened in the format and with every rotation each deck loses a lot of crucial pieces so whatever you choose the landscape will be very different in a years time
@@RahulReddy that's the reason why I want to choose something top tier, which will give me time to learn and not get pushed around so much. I'll wait for the rotation to happen and see what is good then. Thanks for the input.
Both Lugia and Arceus are still got their magic, they just didnt utilize the potential of the old ones. As a player of Arceus and Lugia myself, this proves that these cards along lost tina will not going to retirement home just yet.
It's such a shame they introduce anti-lugia tech in the upcoming set, and minccinno from brilliant stars rotates eventually :( I hope we see more cinccino is some way in the future!

Enhanced hammer is being re-introduced, so if people feel like it they can hit the deck by including it, which it WILL see play for certain in some way.@@BasedTCG

Yes but then you have to remember during what span of time Luga/Cinccino will exist at its best. That's approximately half a year with hammer, and a couple months with no hammer. That therein means that you half 1/4 of a year to make it work. @@BasedTCG
@@summonstormx I can’t see that many people fitting hammer into their deck. Deck space is tight enough, maybe control/mill decks but I can’t see Zard, Roaring Moon, LBZ, miraidon etc playing it. Maybe Temple of sinnoh but that’s ot

So my locals for weeks have been telling me that Lugia is not the move anymore since D block rotation. And while this tournament is just one example of a deck winning ( in a best of one format) it still holds true that Lugia is still playable. It may not be the best but it can carry you to points or at least day two. People just dont see potential in a deck if it falls off a little or is not Top 2 meta anymore. Congrats to that guy for winning 🎉
So lugia isnt really great right now for a number of reasons, such as zard’s popularity, the miraidon matchup, scream tail sniping archeops, etc, so I can understand the people from your locals saying this. With rotation lugia has a better answer for zard (cinccino), miraidon falls off a bit bc no path and zards popularity, and garde will fall off a lot. Yes you can make lugia work now, but if you wait just a month and half you will be able to dominate with it like you’re seeing in the video. I played colorless lugia to toronto this season and went 5-2-2, so when rotation happens i’m picking the deck back up again for my revenge arc!
@@ryangTCG i agree. The people at my locals were saying Lugia is trash like all the way around even when rotation hits.... I was like y'all ain't even there yet with rotation ahaahaaha. And right now Iron Hands is all the rage so if you don't put it in they feel like Lugia doesn't have a fighting chance. Like guys all the decks are playable because no path. Even Gardie

@@BasedTCG NICE! Iron Hands is good. The people around me were saying Lugia was basically unplayable if you didn't have that one card in the deck and made it work. Like what about Snorlax ahhahaa
@@TommyCombs-gm9cm yeah, and Rad Zard too. I play fire energy in my build so I can earthen vessel for the fire and attack with Zard early game instead of late.

I got 2nd place at my league challenge with Lugia/iron hands and beat Zard twice. Hopefully miraidon dies
Won’t be quitting miraidon any time soon, got top8 in 101 player tournament recently with miraidon 😂
