They may not have had a legal obligation to rescue the men, but they certainly had a moral obligation to do everything possible.

@311girl okay so as sick as this situation makes me for these poor men, and their families. .you must understand the situation in which they died. They were underwater divers/Pipefitters. While on this job a pipe they were near or working on I forget which., (it had air in it because it was an oil line there are plugs that separate the oil from the water and it isn't all they way filled up.) Well one of those pipes probably got a hole in it or was cut or burst open, resulting in a immensely strong suction vortex trying to suck in as much water as possible , as fast is possible because it's at the bottom of the ocean or lake and all that empty pressure has to equal itself out somehow, until all the air is pushed out of the pipe. Well this vortex is silent. You can't see it. You can't hear it. You don't know it's there until it's ripping you to pieces and sucking you down the pipe. This phenomenon is called "Delta-P".
I'm not agreeing with how they handled this situation at all, but any diver they would have sent would have probably got sucked through the pipe as well. So another life is lost. There is no way to get a body outta that pipe once its in there. You have to understand it was a 36inch pipe and they all had diving gear on. They suffered the most horrid death imaginable, pinned and suckecd apart dying slowly, the worst pain I could think of....Let's Say, Somehow.. If there was a way to get them out.. Without killing every guy they sent down to get them, And some how beating physics they would have died anyways from their injuries. It's horribly sad. I would agree that they need to find a different way to mitigate this issue, like start sending robots down there to do the work or some kinda AI. Out of all diving related deaths this happens to one outta 4 people, so a Quarter of divers die like this. Look up a video where a crab gets caught in a Delta-P. You will understand then.

The last one is indeed horrific. Christopher should be rewarded immensely for him to manage to get out from that horrific scene. The fact that there was no intention of saving the rest of the men angers me alot.
As stated, the risk was too high, the rescuers would also have perished. Would you rather another 6-12 men died attempting to rescue 4?

You don't risk the lives of more people in order to attempt a futile rescue. It's a harsh fact of life that sometimes you have to accept that you can do nothing. Anger won't prevent that or change that.

You may not realise this but people can feel any way about anything, it's absolutely allowed. Feeling angry about 4 people dying is especially allowed. You think the family of these men aren't angry? Would you try to rationalise their emotional response by saying it's "unjustified"? Please, get off your high horse.
They died waiting to be rescued in the worst possible places and nobody accepted the responsibility is just beyond humanity

Being stuck in that pipe is horrific to imagine, the one guy was very lucky to have gotten help. Hope its a good year for you, i imagine its difficult to consistently find stories to cover and share with us.

Totally understand 2023 being a rough year. I ended up getting a horrible disease that almost killed me. Had to postpone my wedding, lost almost all of my hair (26 year old female) spent nearly all I had trying to cover medical expenses. I get it. Take your time getting yourselves back to yourselves, we’ll be here

Why is it that every time there is a evil, predator who hurts women there seems to always be a coworker or multiple coworkers who these people have told their crimes to but those coworkers do not call the police about it, even anonymously.

Happy New year and so glad for your upload! I'm from Trinidad but live in France. This last story is truly horrific and cruel from those who did nothing to save these men. The families have never received anything to date as it is deeply rooted in corruption and politics of the day. Many believe it was a sacrifice. May their souls be at peace and their families receive justice.

12:30 This is definitely one of the scariest industrial accidents not because of the injuries but because of the claustrophobic nature of surviving delta P forces only to be trapped inside a pipeline until death .. horrifying and extremely sad

My heart and condolences to the divers that lost their lives in the Paria Pipeline. Their families, along with their children, all suffered tragically which certainly that rocked those within the community. Such a terrible tragedy that could have been prevented. I still don’t understand why Paria didn’t do more and that the families were handsomely compensated.
#4 was lucky as hell!! We were taking my baby, as my husband was driving, through the vast curvy and sharp turns in my 330ci outside of NW edge of Austin, Texas during the night with the top down as we headed down the roads during the pitch black night. In the morning as we were driving back I had NO idea how close we were to the road edges and I am thankful that I couldn’t see it the night before.

My dad and James have something in common.
Last year, while he was away for a slightly over a week conference related to his job, my dad was driving back to his hotel on the final night of the conference, he must've been really tired, because he had a lapse in concentration that resulted in him crashing headlong into a tree.
By some miracle, while the front of the car was wrecked beyond repair, he survived with only a few cuts, bruises and a a bit of an issue to his shoulder that still gives him problems.
According to the report, dad being alive, period, made no sense with how the front of the car was totalled.
I absolute love your videos. y'all deserve so much more attention then what yall get. breaks my heart. please don't ever stop posting! and don't ever change your content. your accent and voice are so soothing. I have a playlist to watch while falling asleep🫶🏼

It's quite ironic that lightning coming from electric lines was supposed to be brighter but turns out the result was the opposite, it makes everything darker.

The one of the worker with the power line was scary
Thank you for all your and your teams time and hard work, love all your videos and content. #2, 6:25 Looks like one side of the power was shut down, not sure how the wiring is done, but all I could think of is the other side of the cable on the ground was still energized and the winds blew the end over to be grounded out by the stainless steel street light post. Maybe when the power was shut off there was still a residual charge left inside the transformer. They are extremely powerful even disconnected, I've been uncomfortably close by to witness two of them popping and its like being right next to the loudest cannon in the world going off, X 2. I was also thinking some people have home back up generators up to 20,000 watts, some hospitals may have a 50 to 100KW back up generator that automatically kick on when they lose power and if they aren't wired correctly or if the automatic relays don't disconnect them from the mains breaker going into the buildings, that will back feed into the power lines and back to the power grid. Those power lines carry anywhere from 100,000 to 400,000 volts, maybe more. Not surprised it glowed red and threw sparks like that one super villain's whips in Iron Man 2. Ivan Vanko.
