HI Tom! you know, I have some of that product and I tried it once and maybe didn't read all the directions or something. I should experiment with it more. Your Teardrop is beautiful. saw a picture of it recently.
Did the fiberglass drastically change the weight of the hull? Do you know what it weighs now? Thank you for these videos! I just purchased a snark that needs some love.
HI Ben, I probably added a bit of weight with glass resin and paint but I had also stripped off the original plastic liner (what was left of it. If I added 5-8 pounds, clearly not going to affect the performance at all. me losing 20 would help. lol. oh and I don't know what it weighs but I can still easily pick it up.
Hi I really love the video! I am currently following along trying to restore my snark, what expoxy did you use to drill and screw the wooden mast support? Thank you!
I used TotalBoat 2:1 and thickened with TotalBoat Silica. Got it a bit too thick. Pushed it into the holes with a syringe. I made a mess and was half frustrated with myself. It worked out fine
Did you use Nylok nuts to secure the wood to the transom? They will never come loose once installed...
I don’t think that I did that but maybe. There isn’t a lot of play or vibration to really allow anything to work loose.
She turned out beautiful. Great job!
Hi Dwayne, thanks! I'm sure that I've gone overboard but it has been fun
Chuck you need some TotalBoat Halcyon water bases varnish, I did my CLC camper with it, top notch product
