Great job as usual Brian! I like your no nonsense approach to your videos. No screwing around, just straight talk! The liable joke was awesome! So true!
A few others, that are basically here already in some vehicles are: traction control (variably adjusts engine torque to keep maximum traction/acceleration), shift limiters (does not allow you to red line the engine in a manual), variable suspension (adjusts suspension mode between low/feel every bump, and a nice soft ride). I don't know why I am noting these - they are just cool things I've seen.
The funny thing is that the 4th tip he was talking about Cadillac and how they will change driving but in the video of the guy driving he is driving a BMW just look at the steering wheel
There is zero reason for car manufacturers to continue to develop proprietary entertainment systems when it's very easy to just add a large touch screen that you can sync your smartphone to. You can use your data plan to download what you need, plus you'll have Siri and Google Talk built right in for voice commands.
As a driving instructor; I have to ask; do we really need all this technology to drive a car from point a to point b? Isn't it a little distracting having all these lights, warning signals, buttons, cameras, sensors and touch screens to look at and play around with? While we are making cars much smarter it seems we are making people that much more dumb.
Sir, you seem to be ignorant about cars. You know a car called Mercedes-Benz S-Class 2014??? research it and you will find out that this car has most of the 'future' tech in it so it is not future anymore, it is present.
Must you take everything so literally? He showed technologies which are being developed and he thinks will go mainstream very soon. Besides if you were less ignorant you would know that the Mercedes S Class is very special. Its technology is on average 10 years in front of all other cars.
So, the future of car technology is LCD screens, apps and voice control. Bull shit. Best thing in this video is the breathalyser ignition, the rest I couldn't give a shit about. Blinky gages, iTunes, Siri, meh.
The car is a good example of suppressed innovations! The car repair business is as bad as the medical business! It cost me over $200 dollars to have $60 dollar part installed on my truck, which only took twenty minutes! This is ridiculous and a rip off. Troy Reed placed a magnetic motor into existing car very cheaply! The car doesn't need batteries or fuel. The public is being screwed and lied to.

I couldn't agree more. His Top 5s before Donald Bell were hilarious.

It's been 14 years since my car came out and still nothing can replace it I give you another twenty years starting today
i would argue that autonomous vehicles make driving better and safer. It eliminates human error altogether while voice commands decrease distractions.
Kit.... Kit.... are we there yet!
Brian Cooley should do everything
Number 4 number 2 and number 1 are my ideas
The funny thing is that the 4th tip he was talking about Cadillac and how they will change driving but in the video of the guy driving he is driving a BMW just look at the steering wheel

cool vehicles
The sad point is, that he forgot to list the pioneers in these technologies like Mercedes, Porsche or BMW. These should be honored more often!
I'd prefer digital panels so you know the exact speed your going.
The future of cars are self driving cars with several functions that could benefit us.
LCD everything! Voice commands is useless...just look how we'll it worked out for cell phones...how often do u use it
Just look at the 2014 S Class you'll see the next car tech inovations
You do know he used to, right? And that was after he replaced Tom Merritt, which was far better.
Brian Cooley is Cnet
voice comand "turn to the left" *hits a wall*
