Holllyyy shit man I would be so devastated and then sooo ecstatic with that turnaround for those books. Good on CGC and Bill for making that right for you. That’s awesome man!
My favorite comic con experience was back in '82 in Orange County, CA. Among the artists at the con was Michael Golden, who was my favorite artist at the time. He did three large sketches for me on 11x14 art board. One was Spider-Woman, in a pose somewhat similar to one she's in in Avengers Annual #10 where she's sitting on the wall inside a police station with a mug of coffee in her hands. Similar pose, no coffee. The second was one of Elektra, who he never did an issue with her so I don' t know if he ever drew her for anyone else. Both sketches turned out really beautiful. The third sketch was of Batman in a crouching pose looking like he's ready to go hand to hand with someone. So that sounds nice but nothing special right? It gets better. Turns out the guy who was putting Golden up at his apartment while at the con invited some friends to go out for pizza with Michael after the con. I got asked if I could go along and got the okay so I ended up spending the evening hanging out with Michael Golden and 4 other people at the pizza place and later at the guy's apartment.
What a shit show the signing must be. Mental note; never take expensive books to be signed by CGC. As soon as you said, he stacked them together, I knew what had happened. Glad it worked out. How many other people walked away with ink marks and didn't even know!
Yeh that was a proper 'Oh shit' moment. Would have thought they would be more conscious of it. They are only human, atleast they put it right. Makes me wonder how often it happens though.
What a great story! Glad it worked out, Swagg! I've never gotten signatures, but hearing your experience and Wolverine # 1 guy interacting with Frank Miller - awesome!
Really impressed how CGC staff helped you. As you said they could’ve just been like well that’s on you and not care at all. Luckily they were gracious and went the extra mile to help you and that’s a super kindhearted thing. And for Bill to so that was also super great. Glad you had that turnaround and experience!
Wow great story. Awesome it all worked out okay. Glad CGC and artist understand they may see tuns of books but to individual collector, each book is very precious.
WOW! At first I though it was going to be a disaster! That's so cool that Bill and CGC staff figured a way to fix that problem for you. Now you have awesome remarks on top of the signatures. Nice books and congrats!
Man that is so cool! Having that Moon Knight drawing is even better that the signature. And that other guy's Wolverine story was amazing too, made me remember of The Terminal with Tom Hanks.
That was a crazy ride! And that sketch by Bill is amazing. What a class act to fix that! Great story, no way you should give it away, it should be at the top of your wall when you get it back!
Exact same thing happened to me with my Wolverine #10… Bill didn’t really handle the books with much care, but those paint pens are dangerous. Super nice if you let em dry tho.. they don’t tell you that beforehand 😂
Great ending to a great storey. I probably would have walked off defeated and upset with myself. I was recently at a Con and got some signatures, the arrest took care of me and held them until the gold ink dried. I could have easily screwed up and placed them in my bag without thinking. Great show, you help educate us, or at least refresh us.
Great acting with the body language exchange between the inspector and his boss lol. looking forward to the unboxing....well whenever cgc decides to process them that is.
Wow! A quest worthy of Frodo! Very awesome! From absolutely terrible to amazing! Should keep these though with that story. If you give them away though I would love to win one. In the PC until I die.
Bill is awesome ... I had a stack of books of his (5) and had only 2 prepaid signatures I was trying to decide which two he just took them and signed them all. I have two others at CGC for his latest in house signing hopefully they comeback soon.
I'm not a fan of slabbing books. But Bill Sienkiewicz is a swell guy. Years ago I got him to sign my Daredevil: Love and War. We were talking so I wasn't paying attention to what he was doing. When I opened it to the title page I found that he'd drawn a Kingpin remark next to his signature. Made my day.
That gave me a sick feeling in the pit of my stomach when you said the signatures smeared. So glad to hear it worked out in the end! Bill sounds awesome! Im excited to see his signature on my Resident Evil 1 submission. Great video!
Swags, you've done it again - what a video. You wouldn't get this story told on other channels in the uplifting and even-handed way it was here. Glad it turned out so well after that panic-inducing moment. Maybe that's some of the good comic-karma you built up that came back to save the situation.
Amazing outcome! If it were me…I wouldn’t part with that Moon Knight #15. It looks super cool and you will always have that great story associated with it!
Love to hear when victor is snactched from the class of defeat! Although the waits for CGC can be long everyone I have worked with over there has been great!
Im glad it all worked out for you. Those books are great. Thank you for sharing the story about the young man in line behind you waiting for Frank Miller, it was very heartwarming, brought a tear to my eye.
Not crazy about the warlock on the back, but the front of that Moon knight 15 is incredible! Good representation of the fact the interior contains art by Bill by adding some original art to the front.
Wow that was quite an ordeal for you! That is totally awesome the Mr Sienkiewicz and CGC stepped up huge! That original Moon Knight run is just amazing and I need to track some of those books down.. I have only sent one book to CGC but that experience was a good one because the book came back a 9.8 signature series and its a very low print reprint of ASM 300!
Man that was one hell of a 180 turn you had on this experience on your signing man that is one hell of a story man you are one hell of a lucky person with this
I wonder how many other people got screwed by that & didn’t actually bring it up to anybody and found out later? The artist should have a modicum of common sense and not stack freshly signed books on top of each other, or, better, CGC should have a facilitator there for you for the money money that you pay & should’ve had someone there separating the books after they’ve been signed.
Wow! Now that is a disaster story with a happy ending. I'm so happy things turned out the way they did. Everyone involved could have been A holes but Kudos to Bill and especially CGC for finding solutions. I had the fortune of meeting Bill a few years back and he was a total gentleman. He signed my books for free which was great but I was also able to buy an original Batman piece from him that he drew and inked. He gave me a great price. It's framed and proudly hangs on my wall. Was he selling any original art at the show?
I can't decide what I like better about this video. It's between the awesome story about the guy getting final sig for his wolverine book or your pantomime of cgc convo. 😆.
Wow. This is a literal comic book happy ending. You always give us such great content and am thrilled that it worked out. That Moon Knight book is killer!
it's good that you got it fixed you would be surprised alot of the older comic pros don't know alot about about keeping the books in good shape while signing had a bad experience once. Stan Lee slid my book across the table after signing my high grade x men 9. and there was some liquid on the table my book went over didn't see the stain until after it came back from cgc a 7.5. so know I make a window in the bag for the signing so that no damage can happen while they are signing.
Obviously, you got lucky!!! I currently have only 2 signed comics with original artwork witnessed by CGC. Incredible Hulk 148 with sketch by Herb Trimpe and The Last Ronin 1 first print signed and sketch by Kevin Eastman.
Such a cool story. CGC was sympathetic when they saw your sad and desperate expression 😩. "The Emmy goes to....." Seriously kidding because any Collector would have been devastated by this initial experience then very fortunate to have been granted the "One Above All" blessing for the remarque. Liked vid 😃👍
Sounds like the best convention experience ever. I was glad to meet John romita sr. and get his autograph next to stans in a hardcover Spider-Man master works.
I’m glad I didn’t take a chance to go to torpedo con. I know a few others that went & told me about all the egregious prices from every dealer on basically every book.
Wow, such an amazing story! That was intense just to listen to your story, I could never have guessed you were getting remarks out of the errors. Very happy for you it all worked out. You should keep those books, that’s one classic story you’ll hold dear to forever. Thanks for sharing!
Oh man, thats a hell of a story, would have been crushing in the moment. What an awesome guy Bill is, so humble! Glad it all worked out Swaggle, you deserve it!
Wow Bad Ass video I'm glad it worked out man you had me here as if it was watching a movie plus the story of the final signature was totally awesome thanks for sharing that moment
Long story short, went to SDCC 2013 and Stan the man signed my silver surfer #93. Probably the only one in existence, but it’s my most prized comic book in my PC 😂
Wow! That was a real emotional rollercoaster of a day for you! I'm glad it ended up as a positive experience. I'm looking forward to seeing what grade the books get. Whatever it is those will still be remarkable (excuse the pun) books because of the extras. I was a fan of Moon Knight back then and for the first time ever I tried drawing a comic character. I spent a week and I have to say it turned out pretty nice. I think it's still sitting in a pile of drawings I did over the years.
I am very glad that things turned out well for you there and that you have good luck. I think the only thing that I would’ve caught at torpedo con would be the Delta variant judging by the crowds on pictures I saw.
Check Out NinePanel at www.ninepanel.com
I met you at Torpedo Con, it was my little brother who met Frank Miller and had 6 signatures on Wolverine #1. Thanks again for what you did!
Dude I would never let that Moon Knight go just based on the story, it’s a keeper.
Gotta let those fresh signatures dry individually before you put them back in the bag. I usually step aside to another area and let them dry.
Holllyyy shit man I would be so devastated and then sooo ecstatic with that turnaround for those books. Good on CGC and Bill for making that right for you. That’s awesome man!
This is why we need comic cons back and why the comic community is so special. Thanks for sharing!
Couldn't agree more!
WOW! What a story and save. Respect to CGC and Bill Sienkiewicz!
Wow!!!! What a save!!!! CGC went above and beyond! Loved that Moon knight cover!!!!!
Thanks! I love it too :D
Another example of what a great community we have! Wholesome as heck 😁
Congrats on the remarks, life milestone, it couldn't happen to a nicer guy!!

Woooooowwww!!!! What a turn of events! What’s an awesome video! Thank you!
Amazing story. Glad you were able to get it turned around.
Thrilling play by play - and yeah Bill Sienkiewicz is a super cool dude.
Thanks for sharing your story and the other gentleman's story. This is why we collect!
That seems nerve wreaking man! I'm glad you had a happy ending! :-)
Great luck 👍🏾 plus awesome customer service from CGC. So happy for you!
Yes it was! Thanks!
What a great story! Glad it worked out, Swagg! I've never gotten signatures, but hearing your experience and Wolverine # 1 guy interacting with Frank Miller - awesome!
Dude, that’s so awesome! What a great story you have that you can tell forever now. Congrats!!

Awesome Story Swagglehaus, hats off to Bill & CGC on this one ! GL on getting all these back in great grades ! Greetings from Scotland
Wow great story. Awesome it all worked out okay. Glad CGC and artist understand they may see tuns of books but to individual collector, each book is very precious.

Oh wow...my heart sank hearing that! I'm so glad things worked out! Big save by CGC!
Redoing those smudges into art is pure genius!
Exact same thing happened to me with my Wolverine #10… Bill didn’t really handle the books with much care, but those paint pens are dangerous. Super nice if you let em dry tho.. they don’t tell you that beforehand 😂

Awesome story. Really nice people. This is why I love the comic community.
Wish they did signing tours overseas. That would be the dream! Cool story, Man.
Great acting with the body language exchange between the inspector and his boss lol. looking forward to the unboxing....well whenever cgc decides to process them that is.

Great storytelling. I feel like I was there witnessing the whole thing!!!
Wow what a story man! Glad it all worked out and glad I got to meet you there 👍🏻
Same here!
That gave me a sick feeling in the pit of my stomach when you said the signatures smeared. So glad to hear it worked out in the end! Bill sounds awesome! Im excited to see his signature on my Resident Evil 1 submission. Great video!

That’s friggin awesome - glad it worked out for you - Bill is a super cool dude, 1 of many in this industry -I’m happy for you
Did anyone else's jaw drop when that woman was handing back Wolverine #1 after Miller signed it? Way to spine stress the book fumble hands,... SMH.
Im glad it all worked out for you. Those books are great. Thank you for sharing the story about the young man in line behind you waiting for Frank Miller, it was very heartwarming, brought a tear to my eye.
Swag. That is a story. I love Moon Knight and that remark on the 15 is fantastic. I’m really happy it worked out for you.
Congrats man, Glad it all worked out! I was getting worried midway into the video!
What a terrific story! That’s awesome!!
Not crazy about the warlock on the back, but the front of that Moon knight 15 is incredible! Good representation of the fact the interior contains art by Bill by adding some original art to the front.
My condolences and my congratulations, must have been a roller coaster day.
Met Donnie Cates at Terrificon this weekend and got two virgin Venoms signed along with crossover 1 and 2
That is an amazing story I’m so happy for you and I’m happy to hear a good story coming from CGC my friend

The body language acting is what makes this story.
That's Awesome, Swagg! Congrats
GREAT story, man! I'm so glad you had a happy ending here.
Me too!
Fantastic experience - That books a keeper!
I’m glad I didn’t take a chance to go to torpedo con. I know a few others that went & told me about all the egregious prices from every dealer on basically every book.
O yea everyone is like you know it’s” about meeting the community and friends “ nobody saying anything about being a good place to get books 😆
What an awesome story!!! Congrats!!!

Quite an experience. There are moments of shear terror in our little hobby.
Glad it worked out in the end. I would personally keep those books given the circumstances. Great story and experience after everything said and done.
Oh man, thats a hell of a story, would have been crushing in the moment. What an awesome guy Bill is, so humble! Glad it all worked out Swaggle, you deserve it!

So glad that worked in your favor, love the remarques. Lol if I saw him stack the books I would of had an o shit moment running through my head.
I am very glad that things turned out well for you there and that you have good luck. I think the only thing that I would’ve caught at torpedo con would be the Delta variant judging by the crowds on pictures I saw.
Oh man this video gave me so much anxiety until the end! So happy it worked out!
Great story I even told my friends about your signing story
I got x men 1 jimlee and sum sam keith autographs... I want to get all my stuff autographed by my favorite artist 👍
Great story!! Glad it turned out so well for you!!! I hope to win that moon knight in the future from you!!! 😂🤣❤️🤘🏼🔥🔥🔥
