hello and thankyou for your video can i ask about the two pipes being soldered underneath to the reverser please ,is this to cut down on steam pressure lost? at the reverser
Hi Dean, they are so simple that anything that is wrong can be rectified quite cheaply. Probably the most inconvenient thing to go wrong is the boiler inserts start to spin, notably the safety valve one (appears to weep at the base of the safety valve). Only really sorted with silver soldering or a replacement boiler.
I have a Mamod SL1 that i recently replaced the cylinders on because the glands around the piston rod on the previous cylinders where horribly worn and leaked like a faucet. I thought the new cylinder would remedy this problem but they leek to though not nearly as badly. all this being said i was wondering if you had a remedy for this problem without having to buy new cylinders with glands on them?
very nice, I hope to get one one day to join the SL1, SL1K and SL6 in my shed, great video by the way
Lovely loco and she's got some power!

Is your railway a circuit or a loop, or is it just a straight railway?
Fancy seeing you here

We're can I bye live steam mamod
hey, a few days ago i bought an old mamod sl1. i wanted to lubricate the cylinders but the dome doesn’t want to be screwed off. can u help me? cheers.
Where did you get your meths burner from?
hello what oil do you use to lubricate down the dome hole please
erm, putting oil down the "dome hole" isn't realy a good idea
you should only kinda do that when it has a lubricator
Steam oil , a special blend that dicipetates in the steam exhaust
So do these run on G gauge track?
32mm
The original kit form version from Mamod included wheel sets and cylinder spacers for G (45mm) as well as 32mm.
