    Is your railway a circuit or a loop, or is it just a straight railway?

      The track is 16mm/ft (1:19 scale) 32mm gauge. Available from garden railway suppliers, this particular track is Peco SM32.

    hi just purchased a SL2 off eBay is there anything I should look out for cheers dean

      Hi Dean, they are so simple that anything that is wrong can be rectified quite cheaply. Probably the most inconvenient thing to go wrong is the boiler inserts start to spin, notably the safety valve one (appears to weep at the base of the safety valve). Only really sorted with silver soldering or a replacement boiler.

    I have a Mamod SL1 that i recently replaced the cylinders on because the glands around the piston rod on the previous cylinders where horribly worn and leaked like a faucet. I thought the new cylinder would remedy this problem but they leek to though not nearly as badly. all this being said i was wondering if you had a remedy for this problem without having to buy new cylinders with glands on them?

    hello what oil do you use to lubricate down the dome hole please

    • @wiltothecollector4420
      @wiltothecollector4420 4 роки тому

      erm, putting oil down the "dome hole" isn't realy a good idea

    • @wiltothecollector4420
      @wiltothecollector4420 4 роки тому

      you should only kinda do that when it has a lubricator

      Steam oil , a special blend that dicipetates in the steam exhaust
