FYI - Technically SMD stands for Surface Mounted Device, not Surface Mounted Diode... i.e You have a SMD Diode - a Surface Mounted Device where the device is a diode but (in electronics) you can have SMD Capacitors, SMD Resistors, etc.
+TheRetrofitSource Inc (The Retrofit Source) question could these lights be wired with a manual switch to choose either White or Amber instead of using them to blink? Would like option to choose just White and Amber
+The Retrofit Source Inc awesome !! Thanks for quick response to my question! Like how bright the white and Amber are seen video of some color changing ones and there no where near true to color like these ones.
I'd love to see this in the daylight as a DRL like the 2016 accords ECT. But I'm weary if these will be as bright as whatever honda is using. How would I go about wiring this up to the 2006 civic as a DRL??

Hi there... do the strips bend in a "L" (with the LEDs facing out) or just in circles... Also do they mount with wire or do they have a sticky back to them? Thanks!
would u say theres a one second delay when amber is turned off & constant white turns back on? i have switch back led bumper lights & would love for them to be matched up. thanks for ur time
I'm looking for universal RGBW halos and strips. Diode Dynamics has the app but not the lights. All their RGBW lighting is vehicle specific. Does anyone know where I can buy them?
I have spent the past 5 hours on your site and looking at my cars headlights. I have a question that I need answered before I consider spending the nearly $400 on various things from theretrofitsouce. Basically I have decided to go with a two halo setup from another company that come in custom application specific half circle cuts for my cars model, but I wanted to know if I could use a set of your XSB just for blinker functions and the emergency light function, no daytime running light, and no white light at all. Would this be possible to configure? The reason being is that there will already be two Halos per headlight and another 24 inch strip would make it far too busy, but I would love it if it could be used just as a blinker strip.
Hernandez.04 Unfortunately I did not figure this out, got sidetracked with another project. Try emailing or calling their customer service directly, that's what I would've done if still interested. If you do do some digging please share, would love to know for the future. Sorry I couldn't be more helpful.
I want to purchase a Halo set, NOW! I clicked on the "link below" and received a page with a big "OOOPS!" I was told something's wrong, given no specifics except that maybe the page was outdated, which I highly doubt. Can someone at Morimoto please help me purchase these Halos? Is there a phone number where you can be reached? Thanks in advance for any help!
These strips do not sequentially blink, However we have a lot of new strip products that have come out since this video was made. Feel free to reach out via email if you'd like a little more information on them!
The older ones are more blue, the current ones by Profile are more neutral white. www.theretrofitsource.com/rgb-switchback/switchback-halos-strips-universal/white-amber-led-headlight-strips-profile-pivot-switchback.html
I think so otherwise you will expose these to the elements. there are ebay auctions that claim they have weather proof smd which should be trusted as much as politicians.

I wish the blinker in the halo XSB could work in a "flow" mode, circling around like a loading indicator for images and videos
They burn out quick but your warranty are awesome and good. It just a hassle taking them apart
Danny Duong The old XB LED wasn't very reliable, but that was COB, these are "Hybrid LED" which uses SMD primarily...much much more reliable.

+TrigunVS yes you can. Originally the XSB could not - but now the newer 2.0 version can be used as an all amber strip

Dumb question but are these as flexible horizontally as they are vertically?

That's pretty nice.
Can I get an RGBWA Switchback Feature with these halos for my 2005-2010 Chrysler 300C HEMI?

Got a question, I was wondering if you will cover Led bulbs and dash clusters.
We can see if we can work that in
@@RetrofitSource it would be the s#¡t if their was a choice of aftermarket gauge cluster for popular cars.

We have them, check out our website!
Can you cut the strips to length?
How are the durability on the latest led strips? I wanna order these lol
@theretrofitsource could i use the XSB LED flexible strips for interior lighting?
Pitty you dont do 130-132mm halos... Massive market gap for the majority of BMW's
Can the strips be used externally without a covering or case?
Do the strips require a resistor for the turn signals or is it built in. To avoid hyperflash
If you're simply tapping your turn signal, most likely not. If you are replacing you turn signal, you would probably need a resistor.
can the strips be mounted on the outside of the headlight housing?
They can be but they should not be.
when will they ever have flexible halo's for No need to open Bulb install.
Maybe!

did you ever figure it out? if you can use the 60% I believe the ones you are talking about with this switch back function?

Here ya go Mike! www.theretrofitsource.com/rgb-switchback/led-halos-strips-universal.html
Can you cut the strip to length you desire or does the whole strip have to stay intact?
+knightryderbelow the whole strip must stay in tact
+knightryderbelow it has to stay the same length...it could be cut, but then the driver would over power it
Is the flexible strip bright enough for DRL during the day?
Definitely, these are plenty bright to be seen in the daytime
Thanks. Do you still sell them? All i see on your website is Profile Pivot and ACME Dynamo switchback.
when wired to the turn signal will you get the quick flashing like you do when replacing bulbs with LED bulbs?
Can you adjust the intensity of the halo broghtness?
+Michael La Marco You cannot, its a single intensity on the XSB setup

Good info but you shouldn’t record it with all of that background noise
We agree, always had trouble with that in our work environment during the day
Can they be cut?
They cannot
make some waterproof rings!!!
👍
I can't find the strips like this!!! They all look thicker and not as flexible!!!!!!!!!
Found! www.theretrofitsource.com/rgb-switchback/switchback-halos-strips-universal/white-amber-led-headlight-strips-profile-pivot-switchback.html
I hate the fact they're slightly blue.. otherwise i'd buy these in an instant

SMD actually means Surface Mount Device. Not diode. But nice try
+Derek Maddox Yes, thank you Derek
Have you got to unseal the headlight unit to install these suckers?
I think so otherwise you will expose these to the elements. there are ebay auctions that claim they have weather proof smd which should be trusted as much as politicians.
+supercooled +Al Grant
Yes you do, we carry the RetroRubber glue which is perfect for re-sealing the lights to OEM spec
The problem is getting my headlights to you from New Zealand!
