Would just like to point out that the background playlist through these (soft Country, Jorge Ben, Ram, etc.) has been fantastic. Hope the process has been enjoyable and that the finished product turns out slick
I wouldn't worry about scuffing the parts too much as long as the finish doesn't expose bare metal, they're going on the car & cars are meant to be driven. They'll be scuffed sooner or later. Really appreciate you showing how little effort a "high-effort" restoration can take with some patience. I've completely lost track of where we are in the build now though.
Appreciate this man. I try to keep it as genuine as possible, but the power of editing takes a lot of the “high effort” out. A lot of these individual 3 second clips are actually 20 mins of me frustrated.
Love this series, and it's so satsifying to see those powder coated parts brought back to life. It's gonna be so amazing once this is all done and you've got a car that you've personally torn down and restored/rebuilt piece-by-piece, something that is in tip-top shape due to your own efforts. Can't wait for the next one.
Amazing video, Sir! I've been following on your project for a while now, and I was wondering where do you search to gain knowledge on a very niche project car like the corolla, and how do you source the spare parts?
Good question.. The car is really simple to work on, so 90 percent of youtube videos about any part of the restoration, in this case restoring a driveshaft, were the same process. The 10 percent that is specific to only this car I usually find answers in the original repair manual that i found on eBay. Many of the parts I've found easily on RockAuto, best site ever, but on more niche parts I've joined a Facebook group for TE27 owners, I tracked down the original camshafts from Greece that way. There's a site called Toy Head Auto, they have some parts. 3rd party parts can be found at Techno Toys Tuning, but that's more racing oriented. and of course eBay, there's a big following in southeast Asia for this car, so lots of parts, and cheap!
@@sansberlin Living in the northeast and having many different project cars it really does become a ritual. Try to remove part, part doesn't come off. Try again, part still doesn't come off. Think for 5 minutes, then decide to just cut it off.
I agree on the safety, all the parts will be new, and I try to do as much research as possible to implement tried and true methods, not me winging it. I’ll have the car inspected before driving as well.

@@sansberlin Fair warning, most visual effects (Gaussian) blurs are not destructive enough to stop people from making out the original if they reverse the process. Black boxes are guaranteed destruction.
DRIVESHAFT BALANCE: I was hoping you marked your driveshaft to put it back in the same orientation for balance but then you painted it so the balance is likely ruined anyway...
When these are installed they're done one cap at a time, same with disassembly, it was just a headache to put it back through the same hole, and the parts were being thrown out anyways. There were many instances of using heat in previous episodes where I kept the parts. Thanks man
WE ARE SO BACK
oh we're just getting started.
Joel Laurino doubters are on suicide watch rn. Trust the plan. The deepstate can't keep this guy down.
love this proyect, thanks for putting so much dedication into this

Thanks man, variety is the spice of life, so listening to the tunes while working on the car is just a blast.
These videos are fantastic because it's clearly a passion project with great care taken; easily my favourite build/restoration to watch
Huge compliment, and I’m just super thankful people are interested in watching me attempt this
Great idea to replace the joint while its out. 50yrs of work is a good effort hey, but time for new one.

Glad so see this build still going and not forgotten!
Not forgotten, going to try and go hard for the next few months to get all the parts done
I really need a sand blaster in my life. It looks satisfying.
It’s the single best purchase I’ve made. But you need a big air compressor
This is crazy, I just finished catching up with this series yesterday.
Ya, we’re gonna keep the train rollin
Nice, you’re able to use the Toyota Corolla song!!
Looking great Joel!!
Someone in the comments told me about it last video, it's so great....but i'm pretty sure he kills himself at the end of the song
Nope! YOU are the "Toyota...Corolla...Superstar!" Not that other clown in the song. YOU, man! 👍🤙
Haha thank you! I agree, quite a sad song
@@sansberlin do I hear a theme song on the way?!
Welcome back,Joe! Nice to see an update!
Thanks man, had one just a few weeks back too!

Lookin forward to seeing the next step!

Love seeing this project truck along! Good luck with the brakes!
Appreciate it, and thank you!

Nice work. Thanks for sharing!
Anytime man
Dude this is gonna be the best summer ever. 😎
Until we meet again ❤
Sooner than you think ❤
Keep on keeping on👍
the dude abides
Put Toyota Corolla Superstar on a continuous loop ❤
If they gave me the rights I would, I’m lucky to get away with the little clips. Love the song!
This did not appear in my feed by the way - despite the fact that I am subscribed!
Mmmm strange, but I don’t think I see all my subscriptions all the time either, so no conspiracy here
Great videos buddy
Lost reference 🙌
Big Desmond fan

i don't think i have ever seen a greyer grey than that drive shaft
I prefer it over rusty brown
You don't need the ball joint press, a bench vise works fine with some sockets.
I was using that a lot in the previous video, I suppose the same idea as a dedicated press but without the hydraulic
about the hose failure. Maybe cut the blown through part off and turn it around, maybe dont do that. Depends on the damage. Nice vid
I loved LOST
