One gust of wind and it's all over, I think I will just build a trailer with balloon tires , and it will make launching easier. Also I can mount a cooler on it .
Awesome, I've been looking into this same thing, and I'm also a local PDXer! Curious -- why do you prefer this option over deflating the iSUP, carrying in a backpack or pannier, and then inflating at the launch spot?
well hi there neighbor, thanks for commenting :) for me this is much quicker than inflating, deflating and packing, as pumping up the board is tiring for me. also, the deflated SUP is still quite large--it doesn't fit in a normal backpack, you'd need something more like the size of a large suitcase. you could perhaps strap a deflated SUP to a bike rack but that seems much more cumbersome, and also you'd have to bring the pump with you. but that's just my opinion... if you find another way that works great, I'd love to know!
Thank you for making this video! I have been looking for something like this for a while and sw your review online with this linked. You have been very helpful
Thanks so much for this! Trying to rig my bike for my board as we speak. I have a solid board that’s 28 lbs. do you think these hooks would work? You inspired me!
Hi Jennie! Thanks for your note, so glad you found the video helpful :) Please consider that according to the manufacturer, the rack is recommended for boards up to 25 lbs :-/ You might want to get in touch with Moved By Bikes and see if they have any recommendations. There's a link on this page where you can send them an email: movedbybikes.com/collections/products/products/mbb-sup-bar-set Best of luck!!
Great question! I've always wanted to try having a rack on each side, but I only have one board, and I'm pretty sure the manufacturer wouldn't recommend it ;). For two boards, you may want to consider some form of trailer. Please let me know if you end up finding a solution you'd recommend!
I've been thinking about getting a paddle board because I hang out by the Oaks Bottom docks all the time but most people drive their board there and I always bike. Searching for how to do this and of course its another Portlander :) Do you know if you can carry a kayak this way by chance?
Hi Bruce! Haha nice, I love that area for paddling. I haven’t seen any kayak racks that hold the boat on the side of a bike, but I have seen kayak trailers for bikes :) If you see me around please say hi and I’ll be happy to show you the paddle board setup in person!
Hi Betsy! To get on and off, I keep my hands firmly on the handlebars and set both my feet down on the ground. Then yes I swing my right leg back over the seat while holding the bike steady. I don’t find it too challenging personally. Maybe I can demonstrate it in my next video! Thanks for the question :)
@@emilyvislocky thanks for the confirmation! I think the issue for me is that the rear rack on my bike is under the seat. Too close to swing leg over. I’ve opted now to stop bike, get off seat and plant feet firmly. While still straddling the bike I slowly lay the bike down (board still in rack is on top side obviously) and carefully step away from bike. Not nearly as graceful as you I’m sure.
It´s cool...s I think for smal distances...Coz yoo know,,counter balancing your weight for too long may cause problems (trauma) to ones spine...After all.everybody wants to be health.. to paddle and also riding ..lol
Looks unsafe! What if you fall to the side and you can’t stick your leg out to protect yourself or prevent from hitting the concrete. The board is just in the way. Better towing it
Hi there! If you tip over, the board will hit the ground before you do... but you're right, it can be difficult to catch yourself if you start to tip toward the board side. It takes getting used to, but for me it's become second nature to always lean away from the board and always put that foot down first. Towing is definitely another option! I have yet to try that approach myself :)

this is the life solution I need right now

hi, what if You want to carry two borads? Can you fit one on both sides of the bike?

How do you get on and off the bike when the board is loaded? It looks difficult to swing your leg over the seat??

@@betsybyrd5532 hehe that makes sense! doesn't need to be graceful as long as it works ;)
Love you girl.

More proof that woman really don’t like revealing their weight…
More proof that men fixate on women's bodies instead of relevant information. Sad.
