Great that you have finally ridden a Harley, they are good bikes, they last forever. My old 84 FXRS Shovel is still going strong, it's had new pistons and rings, a rebore, new valves and guides and crank bearings, seals etc and new gearbox bearings and a new clutch, but apart from that nothing much (chain, sprockets, brake pads etc), not bad for over 100,000 k's and almost 40 years old, and the thing is I did most of it myself with help from a couple of mates and basic hand tools.
@@roadblastmedia The old Shovel has a sound of its own and they are pretty tough old engines, but you can still easily get parts and the later model ones like this one are pretty much Evo bikes, just with a Shovel engine so they get some nice bits like rubber mounted engine (rubberglide to some), a 5 speed gearbox and twin disc front end. Congrats on the 5k subs BTW.
Good morning to Vinny, Julian and Ruahines. Lanie picks up her new scooter this coming week. NMax 155 Yamaha new generation. White with black wheels. I’ve sold my XMax and will pick up my new 2023 Yamaha XMax in March. March or thereabouts is when they arrive in the country. Cheers.
@@ruahinesrider I actually read a story way back that someone road a small Kymco 200cc. scooter from Wellington to Auckland in a storm. True as I speak. I think Vinny is the leading motorcycle channel in NZ with 5k subs. Correct me if I’m wrong.
Got it in one Vinny , Correct , ALL Motorcycles are all fun , I have had a few in my time and regardless of brand or capacity In my experience it’s often the attitude and ego of some owners that are the issue…!! 🤣 Congrats on the 5K , Well done.👏🏻😎 Ride Safe and have a excellent Christmas , Hope 2023 is a excellent year for you. Cheers 🥃🍻☮🎄
Cheers Andrew! I think youre right sometimes its the owners who tarnish the bikes in saying that most of the riders ive met have all been awesome no matter what they ride so i feel its a vocal minority with all the ego 🤣 theres a bit of friendly banter and then theres being a dick. Luckily i havent had many run ins with the latter. Thanks for the kind words mate and same to you!
Haha been too long my bro! Been very busy lately good to be back though and too right! Theyve got alot of charm i can see why so many people own them 😆 cheers bro always good to hear from you!
Harley Davidsons have excellent longevity and every motorcyclist needs to at least once ride one. (Also I hear spark plug issues are not as catastrophic as on some other breeds of motorcycle.... 😜)
Good to see you back mate, love my old EVO with a sidecar, fun ,charm and character.😊. Happy Christmas and come down to Dunners for some riding in the New Year.👍
