    To think that Cuba got a razzie nomination for this, tells you how insignificant these 'awards committees' are. This was a brave performance!

    • @lwmson
      @lwmson 4 роки тому +3

      I disagree and thought the Razzie was well deserved. Cuba is a good ctor and was great in Boyz in the Hood and of course Jerry McGuire. But nah, in this role he just wasn't believable as a mentally challenged man, and to me it looked like he was a guy pretending to be such. As I said he's a good actor, but not a method actor, which was needed in a role like this. I know I'll get a lot of bad reactions over this comment, because of the sentiment that many have over this movie, let Mr. Radio, as well as many who are fans of Cuba's, but it is my opinion.

      @@lwmson well, U are entitled to your own opinion so let me express mine. I thought Cuba did an amazing job for his portrayl as James Robert “Radio” Kennedy. His performance caught your attention and made u connect with the storyline on a personal level. I never felt so bad for someone who was completely helpless and the way the high schoolers taunted him and the neighborhood treated him was truly sad. Everyone eventually came around to liking him but u just felt soo bad for Radio which is what Cuba brought to the screen. I truly believe that “Radio” is one of Cuba’s best work and I rank his performance up there with the likes of Tom Hanks in Forrest Gump, DiCaprio in “What’s eating Gilbert Grape” and Sean Penn in “I Am Sam”.

      @@ljvjr2011 My takeaway from his performance was that he was a guy trying to be a mentally challenged person and it wasn't convincing. But like you say we're all entitled to our opinions.

      @lwmson I'm not convinced that you actually disagree with Cuba Gooding Jr's performance as radio. I don't know man, I'm no expert on human behavior or perceptions but I'm pretty sure human beings share their disagreements in a more convincing fashion. You seem kinda like a guy pretending not to like his performance as opposed to someone who actually didn't enjoy his performance.
