@@rafthejaf8789 "Americans know that very well." No, they don't. Americans are completely unaware of virtually everything our government does and has done for generations.
If ignorance were bliss, we would be the happiest nation on earth.
We will literally fight against any attempt to expose any reality that contradicts the prescribed fantasy.
9/11 is a perfect example of that intransigent ignorance.
Whether we support the official narrative or the craziest conspiracy of "What really happened", the one thing you will absolutely never hear about 9/11 is the fact that it was a cascade failure of literally every single agency, department, and force that the American people had spent trillions of dollars, over a span of 50 years specifically to prevent from ever being done.
Among the facts erased are that the entire airline industry was in or an the brink of bankruptcy on 9/10.
That literally every U.S. intelligence, military, and law enforcement agency completely failed to perform the very task that they were created to perform.
That, other than OBL, not one of the people or governments responsible for carrying out the greatest crime in our history was ever investigated, let alone prosecuted for its involvement in it.
That not one American official responsible for the failures of the organizations they headed was penalized for that failure. And the list goes on.
Instead, the American people rallied behind an illegitimate leader who went on an international crime spree, which his successors continued to this day.

If they have managed to take advantage of former hegemonies, they do fuck up bad with emerging powers, we Mexicans got crippled and left with a terrorist state just because they couldn't stand a trace of socialism in the continent, and Mexico is a top 20 economy, all others get an even worse side of the stick, and genocide is not off the table, I just wonder how they will keep criticizing Holodomor while justifying this.

@@vadimuzdensky2384 I'm trying to find any current active policies that negatively effect India as well, and all I can see is the contemplation of sanctions, not actual sanctions.
Main concerns due to close India - Russian relationship & history of arms purchases. But abstaining from UN vote against Russia invading Ukraine is on par with the same stance back in 2014 regarding Crimea. (Plus votes or abstentions favoring Russia in Czech, Chechen & other conflicts). Russian stances on Kashmir also favored India in return. It's a balancing act for them as well since maintaining ties is one potential step in possibly avoiding a complete Sino-Russian alliance in all aspects. (Need Russia to not go all in with China.)
But again, no actual sanctions and I can't see any detrimental monetary policies other than incorrectly attributing Fed reserve moves as negatively impacting Indian stock markets (that volitilty was prevalent before relatively recent moves and looks driven by international factors that, yeah, are aggregated & institutional responses to US monetary shocks...but the US isn't deliberately instigating it.)
But please, point me in the right direction if there's official US policy targeting India. I don't like sanctions that do more harm to the public rather than the elite, oligarchs or leaders. While depriving the militaries or leaders of funds to wage a war is supposed to be the goal, I don't think anyone could argue the effect of a populace uprising against whoever is in charge isn't also a consideration. Unfortunately, that's not how things usually turn out. And it can make things worse. (While not exactly the same, look at sanctions against Germany post ww1. )

The US propped up a modern-ish economy in Afghanistan for 20 years, with all of the growth and development which that entails, and then went "Ok, now go back to your pre-2000's era economy."
We basically Puerto Rico'd them without bothering to make them a territory.
That said, if you're a foreign policy ghoul, it's an excellent means of controlling a country which would otherwise be antagonistic towards you. Turn off the tap, remind them what a pre-2000's era Afghan economy looks like, then swoop in later with very strict, conditional support.
But that'll probably be more on the IMF side of things. I don't know that the US will be directly involved beyond pithy humanitarian aid gestures.

And here I was thinking it would be Yemen, it's hard to keep count with the US. The truth is that sanctions often kill more people than war does. Sanctions are intended to shorten people's lives through deprivation of medicine and food. Despite this there has never once been a case of sanctions resulting in a regime change (except perhaps apartheid SA, but that was also the result of an insurgency) and when has regime change ever been a right of the US anyway? "Confiscating national reserves" is just another way of staying "stealing from an entire country." Hopefully countries in the region will be able to help wean Afghanistan away from its forced dependency on the US. No wonder the global south is all moving towards China and away from the US. I only hope the power of this shithole empire declines faster, whatever that means for its citizens because they have cost the rest of the world too much already. The only real problem with this video is the tone: this pleading, paternalistic "afghans are just as deserving as Americans..." Yeah, no shit. Money is not the long-term solution, what they beed is ressources and help to rebuild their farming that was turned into drug farming by American imperialism. Money is something we need to get away from and asking a poor country to rebuild banks is not helpful as it is still forcing the country into a system that they have no choice in. Money only gatekeepd ressources and when an monetary economy is exploding, it doesn't make any sense to fight to build it back as they always eventually break down like this. The US just helped them and to think that it wasn't the goal from the start would be pretty stupid. The government that was created was a puppet government, a literal example of the imperialist ways of the American Empire. We need to give them sovereignty even if we don't like Talibans. We can raise their living standards by helping the people living and understand that the Taliban government only legitimacy because they have been put as the rebels in the country for decades. The US had made sure to crush any left-wing movement like it does everywhere in fear of communism, using the fear of Russia taking over instead of themselves to justify occupying an entire country for more than 2 decades

Afghanistan has a great deal of mineral resources that have thus far gone unexploited. What they need right now, this moment, is not to be sanctioned by the largest economies on earth and to be given back their own money we’ve frozen and are stealing. Kind of like Venezuela. "their farming that was turned into drug farming by American imperialism"
Do you have a single shred of evidence for any such conspiracy. Of course not. You'd blame your flat tire on "American Imperialism." How would it even be in America's interests to have Afghanistan grow illegal drugs, rather than goods we can legally trade in and tax? It wouldn't. And you know that, but you love to hate America so much that you throw your own mind under the bus.
"The government that was created was a puppet government, a literal example of the imperialist ways of the American Empire."

Yes on humanitarian side I completely agree. The people suffered enough and deserves a normal life. However, to counter some of the point. Wasn’t it the fault of the Afghan government to rely so much on the aid. They had 20 years to stabilize the economy and be less reliant on only foreign aids. It was the politicians scheming off aid and using it as their personal payment. Sending aid to the Taliban government which by the way maybe directed to funding them instead of the people may spark many people to later say well America funds terrorists. America has a history where their aid money was misused by dictator to prop up their own ruthless regime and years down the line it was America who was blamed for helping the regime.

If the Taliban want more aid, they must allow women to return to work in Afghanistan’s aid agencies. Taliban funded their war with Opium, but now have opposed opium production. I respect an opinion that US do more, but many Islamic nations are extremely wealthy, have assisted Afghanistan before and can assist now. The “reserves” frozen are actually western aid, mostly from US, and half this aid was given to Afghan agencies. Stop expecting US to support the nation and go to the Saudis, Emirates. Iran can stop terrorism, atomic bombs,Yemeni war, and put that money into Afghanistan.
