We perceive everything we see and hear. The great thing is that we all perceive it differently. And once in a while, maybe the same. What matters. How do you experience it!!!
I've done A/B's between Soulution amps and CH Precision amps, and for me there was no question that the CH Precision stuff was better in every regard. In particular it was better at density of tonal color, dynamics, dynamic shadings, and inner detail. The Soulution amps also sounded drier and chillier. I certainly can't afford either, and if I'd never heard CH Precision products I'd be perfectly happy with Soulution, but having heard extensive comparisons it was CH Precision by a landslide.
Now we have to get Jay to go to Mikey's place to hear his rig!!! I know this isnt going to happen, because I think I know neither one of you will do vinyl, but it would be interesting for noth of you to go to Suncoast and have the dealer let both of you listen to a vinyl rig from 15-150,000. I would also like to see that dealer play or have on Cd, Digital and see if you both without prior knowledge could hear the difference and to what extent. I thank you both for doing this.
I just finished responding to this video and I noticed you've said pretty much what I said in fewer and better words. I've a reviewer friend that for many years had the Soulution stuff and when he inserted the CH Precision amps our jaws dropped. To me for all of its name the Soulution products seemed souless compared to the CH stuff.
@@helgar791 In my head I imagine a seesaw with the romantic Dartzeel on one side, the analytical Soulution on the other and CH Precision perfectly balanced in the middle. 🤣👍
@@davidtodd9520 Yeah, I heard the Dartzeel's as well. The CH destroyed them. In fact I found the Luxman's, for all their warmth, to be more detailed, have better spatial information, more pleasing to the ear, and had a firmer control of the low end. In truth, I absolutely loved the Luxman's and found them beguiling although not always as truthful to the source as the CH's. I almost bought them when I had the money and would if ever again. In short, all other amps were colorful, the CH's were technicolor.
I have experienced the same things you guys have when I have auditioned equipment and shared time with other customers. It’s amazing how two people listening to the same thing can hear such vastly different things. But we all like what we like, and there’s not a right or wrong, only what’s right for you. I did know that from the title of the video that Mike was going to prefer the Solution before I watched, lol.
What makes a 65k preamp better than a 28k preamp with separate power supply? Like, how much better of materials will you expecting at that price point? And, how much improvement in sound do you get with a $37k or 137% variance? The adage is you get what you pay for…and in no way am I judging the investment. “Ultra Hi-Fi isn’t for everyone” - and I agree with your comment.
I can see where OCD is coming from with the pre amps. After listening to your rigs for a couple of years i can definitely confirm that VAC and tubes sound yawn up against your previous solid state gear.. just my opinion of course.
Nice! Keep it up. A vote for Jay to head to Mikey's place.
Take us to Mikeys place!
Jay, love your channel, i think many viewers wont mind if we could watch for a whole hour 😄💯 keep up the good work bro !
Thanks

In fact if you listen to TA that is much cheaper but simular sound
Love these collaborations you're doing with other audiophiles and industry insiders.
Watching Jay in between a yawn at the beginning of this video was priceless!

David Todd, what makes CH Precision such a good brand?

I think this has been very healthy!
Here is a quick preview:
Am I the only one that feels the tension between these two?
I think it’s because they both have different taste in sound
The RR Ghost or the Pagani....Mmm
