As a teacher teaching English overseas, the Xbox 360 has been an invaluable tool for me. It has a diverse library: racing games, fighting games and FPS games for local 4-player co-op or versus modes. The Kinect sports games have been awesome for team battles in my classes. Despite being in the 8th generation, I'm still using this magnificent console.
honestly i like the ps3 controller more than xbox 360 controller because im used to ps3 + the triggers on 360 are to skinny in my opinion but the joysticks are better feeling on 360

Defiantly do agree with that. The controller was comfortable to use and the games that was on the Xbox 360 were great to play, there was a lot of content to chew through without anything extra to buy with most early games. The single player games were great and the online multiplayer was fun to play as a side option. I think the achievements was a cool way to make it feel like you were progressing the game. I like that the Xbox 360 wasn't forced as an online gaming console, you still could access most things.
I remember watching this video over and over again when it came out, I wanted a 360 so bad and when I finally got it was honestly the best day of my life, 7 years later and it takes me back
360 also has a glorious VGA output suitable for a wide range of older gaming monitors which is another added benefit and the games look beautiful even in 2017.

I'm used to connecting my slim and 3 of my friends classics/slims to one network, and with the e, it disconnects everything or can't connect simultaneously. I wish I could give you technical terms, but this is an actual thing. Something about priority connection.

That is insane about the wifi, I would think there would be some workaround with the setting on your router. Maybe its just an issue with your router or is that a common complaint with people? But ya, if my regular 360 (the pre-S model, but after the RROD heatsink redesign) dies, I'd just get an S model anyways since I use a component switch with 360&PS2/PS3&Wii connectors (plus Skyrim put out funky sound over digital, so I switched to component for analog sound which was better). It outputs 1080p over component anyway.
The XBOX360 (an PS3) are like Socket 775, they've been around for ages, and they still do pretty well at gaming (even tho, right now, both, S775 and XBOX360 are at their limits for playing the newest games...)
What was so great about the 360 were the memories that you made, so many more than on the xbox one. I miss going into game chat on MW2 at 2 am and having a blast with random people talking shit, and I miss going into gamestop excited to pick up that new game or get a few used ones, 360 is the best console ever.
I have to disagree with you on GTA V for xbox 360 being "well optimized". I have multiple friends who have both the 360 version and the pc version (for comparison) and they swear that the 360 version often dips into the low 20's in terms of fps. As a previous console gamer and now a pc gamer with some medium range hardware, 30 fps isn't "god awful" but anything that isn't SUPER SOLIDLY locked to it at the very least is unplayable. Back when I only had a ps3, for example, I literally could not play skyrim or gta v, which is when I decided to get a PC. Edit: I agree on your other points, amazing video :D
It IS actually very well optimized. You could only do so much with 8 year old hardware on a game with great graphics. I'm not even sure how rockstar was able to optimize it so well for it to run in the first place.
Bought a 250gb slim 360 last month after going years without one. Paid 80 US dollars shipped for it with 2 controllers. So glad I got it. The library of games is superb and cheap. Sold my white one years ago fearing it would RROD and have missed it since then.

The only problem with the PS3 was that it came out a year later than the Xbox, the CELL architecture was too complicated for devs (I don't know how it was but that's what everyone seems to go on saying) and the first model was really fat. Currently, I've spent days attempting to optimize GTA IV on PC, and it simply can't maintain 60fps. The game is poorly optimized for PC even on a modern machine w/ dGPU. I'll play it on 360, where I can count on it playing the way it should. - Note: I bought GTA IV in 2008, day it came out, played it for 10 mins, and now want to play through it. My point is, GTA IV is still more reliable on 360 than a PC w/ significantly more powerful CPU, and GPU. The reason I prefer consoles is optimization. Geoforce Experience, Razer Boost, Hivemind, AMD catalyst still are not adequate enough for a gamer to simply download a game, set to optimize, and lock @ 30 or 60 FPS, and get that result. That is a software waiting to be made, or at least more effectively.
I never had an xbox console until 2 months ago that I got an xbox one since I grew with Playstation at my house. I have to say the 360 is so awesome that it makes me want to get one. This video is truly a perfect tribute to the 360.

I have my XB 360 Elite since 2008 and it still works, the disc tray still works after 2-3 tries, still buy games for it, hasn't red ringed and I RGHed it so I can download and play games since I don't get on XB Live, updated so still giving use and with XB Classic games I have variety to have fun with
I think you are a kind of person who waits for the console generation to end and then enjoy the games that are actually enjoyable, not overhyped, and all of that for an affordable price aswell. I am like that myself, and with xbox 360 disappearing from store shelves believe that now is the time to truly enjoy this console and its potential.

What was so great about the 360 were the memories that you made, so many more than on the xbox one. I miss going into game chat on MW2 at 2 am and having a blast with random people talking shit, and I miss going into gamestop excited to pick up that new game or get a few used ones, 360 is the best console ever.

I have to disagree with you on GTA V for xbox 360 being "well optimized". I have multiple friends who have both the 360 version and the pc version (for comparison) and they swear that the 360 version often dips into the low 20's in terms of fps. As a previous console gamer and now a pc gamer with some medium range hardware, 30 fps isn't "god awful" but anything that isn't SUPER SOLIDLY locked to it at the very least is unplayable. Back when I only had a ps3, for example, I literally could not play skyrim or gta v, which is when I decided to get a PC.

It IS actually very well optimized. You could only do so much with 8 year old hardware on a game with great graphics. I'm not even sure how rockstar was able to optimize it so well for it to run in the first place.
Bought a 250gb slim 360 last month after going years without one. Paid 80 US dollars shipped for it with 2 controllers. So glad I got it. The library of games is superb and cheap. Sold my white one years ago fearing it would RROD and have missed it since then.

The only problem with the PS3 was that it came out a year later than the Xbox, the CELL architecture was too complicated for devs (I don't know how it was but that's what everyone seems to go on saying) and the first model was really fat. Currently, I've spent days attempting to optimize GTA IV on PC, and it simply can't maintain 60fps. The game is poorly optimized for PC even on a modern machine w/ dGPU. I'll play it on 360, where I can count on it playing the way it should. - Note: I bought GTA IV in 2008, day it came out, played it for 10 mins, and now want to play through it.
My point is, GTA IV is still more reliable on 360 than a PC w/ significantly more powerful CPU, and GPU.
The reason I prefer consoles is optimization. Geoforce Experience, Razer Boost, Hivemind, AMD catalyst still are not adequate enough for a gamer to simply download a game, set to optimize, and lock @ 30 or 60 FPS, and get that result.
That is a software waiting to be made, or at least more effectively.

It's just they cannot optimise the game for all PC hardware simply because the sheer diversity and amount of variation in the hardware and software alike. In other words they knew were they could squeeze an extra few details into the Xbox because they were familiar with the hardware and software.

Xbox 360 is still kicking ass in 2019. Backwards compatibility, cheap prices, and the modding community are doing a great job of keeping it up. Over 13 years after release, I still see it lasting 5 more.

I have my XB 360 Elite since 2008 and it still works, the disc tray still works after 2-3 tries, still buy games for it, hasn't red ringed and I RGHed it so I can download and play games since I don't get on XB Live, updated so still giving use and with XB Classic games I have variety to have fun with
I think you are a kind of person who waits for the console generation to end and then enjoy the games that are actually enjoyable, not overhyped, and all of that for an affordable price aswell. I am like that myself, and with xbox 360 disappearing from store shelves believe that now is the time to truly enjoy this console and its potential.
