- The modified E100 hit a higher speed than expected.
Hoverboard 36v 4.4AH lithium battery pack and a cheaper 36v 500w controller and throttle.
A little wiring but that's pretty much it.
I charge the battery on an actual hoverboard. NOT through the scooter.
Traditionally, pointing the camera at what you are supposed to be capturing on video is considered a good practice. I have a 36v scooter battery I was going to hook up to a e100, my search for "is this a good idea" led me here...
Well I'm sorry my camera practices are terrible. I am definitely not a professional. But in the end it is a good idea to modify if you were looking for a quick boost in power. It will wear out the motor quicker but for the limited use that most of us do, it will last year's.

@@richtravis9562 I understand. Sorry to hear about the mishap. And yeah, charger should be more readily available. The higher amp output chargers are what you want. Stock is about 0.6, 1.5 for the e100 is desirable. On mine I am running a hoverboard 36v lithium pack. I charge it with a hoverboard. Lithium would make a great upgrade over the lead acid on a stock e100. 24v are a bit more difficult to come by.
Picked up a second hand one for free and a 36v decent battery in it that now lives in a hoverboard that I made £50 on.....cheers easy!!

Hmmm, I don't know without looking, but it was a simple install of the 36v controller and throttle, than a new connector for the battery. Maybe I will do one if I find another cheap E100.
How long does your hoverboard battery last on an overvolted e100?
My 100lb kid runs roughly 30min, maybe longer. You can always run 2 in parallel for double the time.

With the one 36v 4.4ah lithium hoverboard battery, a 70lb kid was running about 30min, I installed 2 in parallel on my 36v pocket bike and it (750w total overvolted) was 30-40min. Mileage unknown because I have hills. I bet 2 on the scooter (150w overvolted) would be an hour.
Do you have to change the controller (esc) to do this mod or can I leave it stock and then just add the 36 volt battery and also has the motor had to be replace because of a failure after this mod or has it been working fine
Definitely have to replace the controller and throttle to 36v. I used a cheap ebay one. About $25 at the time. My motor still works but overvolted motors will wear faster. The rpms get raised by 50% and that's where the top speed comes from. The hoverboard batteries are great, out of 4 had one prematurely fail. Probably the bms board

@@bdrgarage7039 ok thank you so much and also when you get the hoverboard battery did you have to buy a connector to connect the hoverboard battery to the controller or did it just plug straight into the 500w controller that you said to buy and is there a way to charge the hoverboard battery without the actual hoverboard because if so I am definitely going to try this
@@Gman54563 I ended up buying a used hoverboard with charger for $50 originally. There might be a way to just hook up a charger directly to it but I wasn't totally sure so went the safe route, plus my kid can ride the overboard when it is put together and not charging batteries. I did also have to make a connector from the original white connector to an XT60. Let me see if I can get a picture on here somehow

Cool project. Any idea if the original 24V motor is likely to burn out at the higher voltage?
I have overvolted a ton of razors, eventually all Motors will burn out. None of mine have yet, but I'm not sure how fast the 100 watt motor will burn out. I do have it up for sale but I have my kid keep riding it and maybe we'll find the end of life for the motor or maybe not.

Do u know how to bypass a kickstart on razor e100 stock pls help
If you swap to a different controller the kickstart will be eliminated. It is only in the stock controller. You can use an E200 controller and throttle.

The modified E100 uses a hoverboard battery, I use a hoverboard and hoverboard charger to charge the battery. You CAN NOT use the stock charger to charge a lithium battery. It was the smallest lithium that would fit and cheap. $50
If you switching from 24V to 36V mod, you have to change to proper charger, those Lithium batteries are very picky on charger.

Of course. Hopefully it has the old and the connections are not soldered. Easy swap at that point. If they are soldered, cut and splice new connectors in for the new batteries.

@@flxtz306 the 36v scooter I built at 17mph was the stock 100watt motor. I used a cheap Chinese 36v 500w controller and throttle. Then added a hoverboard 36v 4.4ah lithium battery.

Ha, thanks, what I need is one of those fancy ones that keep the camera balanced no matter how sloppy I am. I am looking, but just found my better camera!! Lol. Now, I hate editing and like raw videos, but I might combine a few cameras footage, not held as much for better views. I want the criticism, it will only help. Thanks!
