They must have learned to fight from Cobra Kai because all they did was try to sweep the legs.
But it sucks that they didn't make animations for monsters fighting monsters. It looks so weird to have giants and dragon ogre shaggoths attacking each other's feet.
I wish there was a way to turn off generals needing to be in armies for stuff like this

I don't know about this game, but in Shogun 2 and napoleon, you could select the general and the one unit you want, then just delete the general.
Here armies need a general, like in rome 2 and attila. Infact, you don't recruit froma city, you recruit from a general

me too, but there is a mod for that. it basically makes every unit a general so you can make this 1v1 tests.
it still sucks compared to old total wars but at least you can do it now.

This is actually very interesting,this shows that even though the giant should've been more powerful and at least as resistant the intelligent choice of weapon/smart use of agility made the dragon ogre Shaggoth be in a completely different class outmatching the giant brute.They actually tried being logical in making the game who would've thought.

Well yes. But consider that of the 2, shaggoths should be the better at killing other monsters for sure, and then consider the result of this match, and the cheapness of giants (wich also makes them better at drawing fire in general).
So you have 2 roles at wich giants are better. What roles are left?
The ones where giants are supposed to be better anyway.
I didn't play the game yet, but on my understanding with online videos some units are unbalanced as fuck, making them good against 9/10 of the enemy rooster (Demigriph).
How unsurprising for an AAA game newdays.

Dragons seem to be cav should have disengaged a re-charged
I wish they weren't swinging at air and hitting air. I know it would take more time and cost more money to make more animation for defending/parrying/attacking each unit against all units, but it would've looked more immersive that way specially for these single entity units.
Edit: Those tail should also knock down small units however strong they are or just bounce back if the unit is too strong for the tail. Yeah yeah asking too much here but well, if they are making a fantasy one, better make it look as cool as possible :/
The trouble isn't that it takes more time, the trouble is, that it doesn't work. It creates issues that simply cannot be fixed under normal circumstances and it looks just as stupid in the process AND costs much more performance.
The cost/benefit for it is just shit.
It's just eyecandy for a few minutes and then it just makes the gameplay worse.
Just like with the whole Siege-Thing with having extremely detailed and unique defences.....it's shit because the AI will NEVER be able to use every single one of those and thus the gameplay suffers.
Gameplay and fun > Realism/Eyecandy

No, realism does not equal fun. Games are "fantasies". You are talking about simulations.
The dueling does not work and looks ridiculous, requires more performance and aside from a few people...nobody really gives a hoot about it. They are too busy micro-managing their units.
And even IF you look at them...it looks stupid how the people around them wait to attack..."why the fuck don't you hit him from behind?"
That's not realistic at all. Unless these downsizes are fixed it actually DECREASES the fun, because it looks even worse than hacking and slashing away.
Having a good experience throughout the board is way more important than offering eyecandy for a minority of people or for the first few fights that you actually zoom in and never do again.
Eyecandy is not "fun"...it ENHANCES the experience, but if it dramastically influence the gameplay for the worse it actually makes it worse.

everybody is complaining on the animations but first they have animations(against inf) and second to let them fight like this prevents clipping and all the shit from previous games.... and that was looking worse

the size of the dragon ogre isnt actually representative of how large they actually are. they are extremely old beings and the models have 7ft tall beastmen clinging to their braids to give a truer idea of scale if accurately represented.
They vary some are huge others are smaller around the size shown in game
From what i read they become a shaggoth after they grow to immense size.
SODOgames i honestly cant recall its been along time since i played table top or read any of the books the last one i read was i believe the mark of heresy and that was over 10 years ago

The empire and dwarfs can. The empire has witch hunters that 2 shot enemy lords and the dwarfs have those troops that kill a giant in 3 seconds.
Even regular halberds kill them quite fast (only a third of their price)

Am the only person who's by the fact that this wasn't an even fight yeah just for entertainment but it would've been better in my mind if they were even on the cost end at least

Fighting looks so damn bad...... No real interactive fight going on.
You have to remember that in a standard Total War match there are thousands of units fighting each other... there's just not enough processing power in modern computers to run that many synchronized fights at once. The best you can hope for is the occasional sync kill animation.
You're right! But i also mean that the fighting is very binary: One hits, the other waits a second and hits back. This just goes on. There is no quick hacking & slashinh into each other
This has nothing to do with processing power, the reason the units Attacks are like this is to make sure that they get to hit multiple targets instead of killing people one-by-one, which was disastrous in Empire total war cause there would be times when 20 units would fight 1 general but only one person would attack him per animation while the rest awkwardly stare.
So if I do understand: To get good interactive fighting (like how NPC's fight in games like Witcher 3) the average processing power of our computers would be unachievable in big battles?
