Best way to explain: the lines closest to you, the cameraman are passenger/freight, the very closest to you is the line to Wickham(the trains no longer run to Newcastle since Xmas, 2014 owing to the act of TREASON by the NSW state government), the next line is to Maitland & beyond. The next pair of lines furthest from you are the coal/grain lines with the outer line toward the valley and the inner line toward Newcastle ports.
they look like the Xploers i believe these will be replaced in 2023 along with the (aging) XPT's and if you are wondering what the the new trains will look like have a look at the Queensland tilt trains that will give you some idea
@@youtubeviewer7030 The crime of treason also extends to blatant going against the EXPRESSED WISHES of the majority of citizens in any community. An OVERWHELMING MAJORITY of Newcastle's and surrounding region's population were UTTERLY OPPOSED to cutting the line - ANYWHERE! Only a former Mayor, a couple of business owners, a proven-corrupt former MLA and a couple of idiot adolescents were in favour of cutting the rail line into Newcastle.
This is the weather we in San Francisco are hoping for, to finish off the fires.
It's the weather NSW and Queensland are also now hoping for. Similar fire conditions to what you experienced
@@Schony747 Hoping for rain where it's needed!

What was the wait time between coal trains?
It varied but no longer than 10 - 15 minutes.
I've read that this is the Newcastle port exports the most coal of any port in the world. To supply that, they ought to have frequent trains.
@12:35 i wonder these can go far as Victoria i assume they can
They could but this was an SB service so between Sydney and Brisbane only.

@@youtubeviewer7030 Well, Brenden is from Melbourne anyway, so we'll call it a "whoops!"
@12:38 ohhhh i would love to do that place up
Actually it's "Pitnacree", there's no 'k' on the end of the word.
It's my very bad handwriting. I'll adjust the description.
