Folks, if this video hits 2000 Likes, I will spend the night in the Haunted Horton Mine. Full 4k video of the event, audio analysis, the works. Jack Jensen especially considering if you get hurt or something collapses or anything like that. Regardless, spending the night may not be worth the risk unless you think capturing more sounds from the mine is worth it to you. :/
schyler schutz I look at collapse like this. If a rock has been there for X decades, odds are my mere presence isn't going to make it fall. Could it? Sure. I could also get wiped out by a drunk driver on the way to the gym today, too. Risk is relative.

Most large spaces underground breath ... in that the air moves in and out depending on the changes in atmospheric pressure on the outside of the mine, or cave. The resulting inside temperature will be a combination of the elevation and the distance from the outside air. Typically ... 50-55 degrees and since the cold air will be found in the lowest part of the passage ... the contact of the air with the warmer water and mud will cause the fog to rise. The high humidity of the mine will make it feel warmer until your clothes are soaked with sweat and then it will feel quite cold. The deeper you go into the mine the less effect the outside air temperature will have on the mine and it will become quite hot!
Excellent description! I love exploring mines and caves and it's amazing how they really do breathe. Kinda creepy sometimes too -- like when I feel my hair being "blown" by a breeze I didn't feel.
I never got in a Mine deep to become hot.... Its everytime cool or if its freezing outsinde, so its getting warm, but never hot. You would need tousends of meters deep
@@andokayshelter7429 The geothermal gradient of the earth is an increase of 25 degrees C per kilometer. Mine air temperature can fluctuate a bit based on the how well the mine breathes, the time of year, depth/elevation of the mine, and hydrothermal activity in the surrounding rock, but the temperature increases with depth. Mines in Mongolia have to battle temperatures of -40 degrees C while mines in Western Australia often reach into the 50 plus degrees C. They will actually air-condition the deeper mines where rock surface temperatures may reach 60 degrees C. Just google "mine temperature by depth" and you will get all the graphs and charts showing this.
It's almost like people would rather assume ghosts are real than imagine someone living like that. The fact is... People will live anywhere they can get food and water.
The sounds that may give the impression of human speech/talking are sometimes created by different sounds combining of the falling water against different surfaces and other parameters. They can be eerie but sounds do combine like paint colors to give a different sound than each original was making. Let me suggest you do more homework than just location etc before you visit any mine. Firstly, know what type of minerals were being mined and/or found. A quick search showed this one had cinnabar, which means mercury! At room temp, mercury vapors can kill you in less than a minute, it may just take you longer to expire but the damage is done. Luckily here in the West we don't have the may dangerous gases as prevalent as do mines in the mid-section or eastern half of the country, but some still do. I suggest taking along a gas mask that's approved for these types of gasses just in case things start turning south fast, but again research can eliminate the need many times. I once walked into a downward mine shaft in Quartzsite and the walls and ceiling were bright red. I took a closer look and it was covered with thousands of silver liquid balls. I immediately realized this was a cinnabar mine and mother nature had cooked/refined the mercury right out of it. I immediately held my breath and backed out quickly. Unexpected things like this are often found in old abandoned mines so if you ever see dynamite sticks laying in there as I have, back away carefully and leave the mine! Dynamite eventually begins to degrade into nitro glycerin which is very unstable. If a rock fell and hit it that could set it off with dire consequences for anyone in the mine, even at the entrance as it's similar to the end of the barrel of a shotgun going off. Another suggestion I make based on my own mistakes is to take a walking stick with you. Once again I saw a mine outside of Prescott that looked interesting so I decided to explore it. It still had the ore wagon rails and I walked on the cross beams. Water was flowing out and on both sides it looked like only an inch of water over what appeared to be solid mud below. I decided to test this and my foot sunk 2 feet immediately before I could catch myself from going over into it. What appeared to be solid mud was some substrate mucous like substance in the water just below the surface that appeared to be mud. A walking stick would have told me what appeared to be wasn't and could help avoid unpleasant or dangerous results. In both of these instances they were off the cuff decisions to explore a mine I came upon that I didn't know existed before I arrived in the area. So this is why I emphasize when you are planning to go see a specific mine, research more than just location and directions for your own safety and to set safe protocols for the trip. You were wearing hard hats and that's imperative as it can mean the difference of just maybe being knocked out or instant death if heavy rock falls so kudos to you there! I would also suggest getting a butt pack or backpack to wear and put in 1 bottle of water and some high energy bars and a roll of toilet paper in case the unexpected happens when you're deep in a mine. "**it happens" as they say, lol. One final suggestion when exploring mines, especially ones with running/standing water in them, go to WallyMart and buy a set of rubber work boots. They're only $20 and you can also buy a small plastic tote bin for $6 to keep them in and then put them back in to protect your vehicle interior when you take them off and they're all muddy until you can get them home to clean them off again. Emma could have used those when she got stuck and got a new pair of mud hoppers, lol. I hope these suggestions help you two and the others who do this if they aren't already using these methods and ideas to explore old abandoned mines. Thanks again for these great videos and be careful out there!
@Mryeast 5999 V2 did you actually hear whispering? They probably heard water from another area. Have you ever been in a cave? You can see the two chains on the left moving as well and nothing could've touched those. It was probably a breeze
I agree, seems pretty normal for underground. Yes, creepy if your not used to underground but the chains were for hanging utilities and pipe to the back, it’s open to the surface at the top of the raise which is why you have air movement and it’s humid and warm underground, which will sometimes create fog. Plus noises just bounce all over the hard rock walls creating echos upon echos. Personally, I’d go back there, turn off the lights and sit down for a few minutes :)
Heard people whispering - just wind Heard people talking - just wind Heard people yelling - just water Heard people screaming in agony - just rocks Saw transparent man running - just mist
on Frank's 2nd Horton Mine video, where he records the sound of the voices and the siren, it sounds like its coming over some kind of intercom or PA system. was there any sign of wiring, speakers or horns in the mine that could be part of such a system?
0yeme0 yeah, I love his cave exploring. he does talk to much sometimes but great content and plenty uploads. the Horton upload by Frank was creepy AF and there's a new upload of another mine. sounds like whispers but flowing air in the mines can cause this. Have a friend who worked the coal mines and said the same. The first couple times it'll raise the hair in your Crack.
Mark Lo I saw Frank's videos when they first came out. I find it hard to believe that the noise of the siren was legitimate. About as legitimate as "finding" an old pistol in the Helter Skelter Mine. 😝
It's definitely an interesting mine, you don't see too many with chains hanging down like that, but the water was the worst part. It was dripping from the ceilings in many spots. Probably not too safe of a mine to be in with that water.
I keep thinking of a mine, I don't remember its name, had chains like that hanging from the ceiling. It was being explored for being haunted. Without a breeze in the mine one chain started swinging. Just one. The other chains stayed still. Maybe its this mine.....
it is this mine. the video you are talking about is owned by a guy who goes to old abandoned mines and explores them. usually when he goes to these mines, nothing ever creepy happens, except for this one that he went to. i forget the guys channel name but if you look on his channel, almost all of his videos are just normal exploration. I believe there is something sinister in that mine. I would piss myself if i had to go in there.

It’s actually about a second or two before it but yeah I barely heard it but it is possible it’s the other person with him plus idk why a child would ever be in a mine
I didn't hear anything creepy. I think water can make noises that sound like voices - very often when it's raining heavily and the rain is running down the gutters, I think I can hear voices whispering only to realise it's just the sound of the water. I don't think I would ever have the guts to go down that mine though!!
It does sound like there could be some voices in the back of the mine. You'd need to really clean up the audio to know what they are saying though. I hear a female's voice for sure. But there could be more than one.
The yellow tubes are deflated (inactive) ventilation bags. They would have carried fresh air to the end of the haulage tunnel. Nothing going on there now.
Thanks for showing the mine. I have seen a couple of other videos of it but you took your time with it and went into great detail. Did you see any other tunnels in there? was it a long hike. Thanks from Ody Slim
Thank you Ody, and no, I didn't see any other tunnels in there, but i do want to go back in and climb up that ladder in there. I just need a rain coat. :-)
Ah what courage! I didn't hear anything other than the water drop echoes but the fact that you both went in without flinching is awesome. Can't wait for part 2 and thank you for the upload
I love and HATE all of these old mine exploration videos. I love the spooky feel coupled with a little bit of history. However, I HATE that it will probably encourage unprepared people to go explore these mines, which is incredibly dangerous. (Cave-ins, thick mud, sharp metal hidden by the mud, snakes, bats, and potential toxic sludge)
I didn't hear any voices. Everything you heard was the water flowing from the overhead and echoing throughout the tunnel. The noise is very familiar to me, as I explore abandoned mines in north Idaho. natural springs and weather can flood underground mines. What you hear in this video is water dripping and the sound waves bouncing off of the rock... (echo)
i def think I heard distant conversations. a womans voice. not his wife. clean up the audio and enhance it .....i would most definetly wear oxygen masks or respirators and gloves. could be breathing very dangerous mold etc. very cool video. you two are brave.
After watching many pro cave exploring videos a common comment I’d often see was to not breathe in the air in an abandoned mine because it’s very dangerous.
Would be interesting to place a go-pro back there where the "voices" were heard, walk out to the truck, come back in an hour or so and see if anything happens while you are gone. Frank over at Exploring Abandoned Mines had an interesting experience in that mine as well..
You have to consider the acoustics when listening for ghostly voices. The falling water creates sounds that echo around the tunnel and some of these sounds can be misheard as voices.
You's are super brave I felt scared watching it, even the running water sounds creepy haha, them noises were odd like a whistling and muffled voices , really good explore one of my favourites.
Fallout USA Just don't try and pry open the antenna hatch and climb down. The easiest way to get to the silo is through the command center which has its own entrance a few hundred yards away. It'll look like a concrete shit-house with a steel door. Also, most of the actual silos where the missiles were housed are flooded with 90ft deep water.
FNG ™ I know of two that are accessible. The rest were more than likely sealed when the US got rid of the Atlas missiles. A few I've come across were all welded shut. They just weren't located here, they were in a lot of places in the Midwest. Any idiot can find one these days anyways, it's called Google Earth and Maps.
FNG ™ Absolutely nothing? The reward was everything. I got to explore a piece of the past without risking my neck. What's wrong with a safe and easy in and out? Absolutely nothing.
This is very true, I have a couple of aquariums and the sound of the water from the filter hitting the surface of the water makes it sound like the TV or something is on
Fungi is interesting because it can grow in places with no sun or minimal light wh9ch makes me wonder how it grew in natural caves eons ago that had weird bigger size fungi or maybe that looked like mushrooms somewhat too.
Man, Respect to debunk theories yourself by going to these locations yourself. Keep doing that and you'll be the most respected in this genre. Debunking and honestly showing feedback and footage by being there in person. So many channels fake it for views, but debunking those fake vids by showing footage at those locations is what we need. Respect to you and your partner for the footage.
If any of you have played the game Metro 2033 and Metro Last Light there is a part where you and a guide (khan) escape from enemies through an abandoned tunnel, the ghosts in it are stuck on repeat, almost as if piece of time was being played over and over again. I think that is what is happening in this mine due to Frank's 2nd horton mine exploration video where he hears a railcart, and an intercom from the very deepest part of the mine. Very interesting and mysterious world we live in indeed.
awesome video. we actually came across an abandoned mine conpletely randomly. there was an accident there in the 1910 or so where some gas leaked and killed over 100 people. it closed for good in 1930. it went back over a mile but for the first time we were too afraid to explore it :( but this video makes me really want to
Thank you bro! I think it takes some time getting comfortable with going inside the old mine tunnels. I know that other channel, abandoned mines ... if you watch some of his earlier videos, he stays outside and films them. Slowly over time you can see he becomes more comfortable with entering the mines, and now he seems to go in without hesitation. So I think it's completely normal to not feel comfortable entering when you are just getting started with mine exploration.
Explore With Us it's the danger of it that scares me. I don't want there to be a gas leak or it to collapse on me lol. I will have to check out those vids. once I get the guts to do it, and research safety precautions, I'll probably go get a video there.
You should bring an oxygen meter with you if you can. There is also the possibility of being crushed to death, so just something else to keep in mind. Explosives gas detector wouldn't hurt either. Be safe bro.
thanks for going in there without presuppositions, made this seem like a very normal old abandoned place. I wonder if they used that water to power a sluice, and it's diverted on purpose

I didn't hear anything creepy. I think water can make noises that sound like voices - very often when it's raining heavily and the rain is running down the gutters, I think I can hear voices whispering only to realise it's just the sound of the water. I don't think I would ever have the guts to go down that mine though!!
Emma is so fearless, you taught her well
It does sound like there could be some voices in the back of the mine. You'd need to really clean up the audio to know what they are saying though. I hear a female's voice for sure. But there could be more than one.
breyerhorselover5562 that his wife voice
it's probably water
or some snakes or birds
now for real, i hear female voice too and its like the radio from franks video

8:26, I legit thought that was a fart sound and that he farted and it echoed, it became funnier cuz he said there we go, much better 🤣
I continue to believe this mine was converted into a ventilation tunnel for a underground base. It's in Nevada after all lol
The yellow tubes are deflated (inactive) ventilation bags. They would have carried fresh air to the end of the haulage tunnel. Nothing going on there now.
nhraman76 Damnit Randy, theres someone in the mine again. Turn on the creepy sounds to flush em out.
YES, IT'S A CONSPIRACY! A SECRET GUMMINT BASE RUNNED BUH THE MILITERY! DONLD TRUMP'S SECRET LAIR SO HE CAN TAKES OVER TH' WORLD! SMH...

Thanks for showing the mine. I have seen a couple of other videos of it but you took your time with it and went into great detail. Did you see any other tunnels in there? was it
a long hike. Thanks from Ody Slim
Thank you Ody, and no, I didn't see any other tunnels in there, but i do want to go back in and climb up that ladder in there. I just need a rain coat. :-)
This is literally the scariest thing I’m here from TikTok and this is weird
I wonder who's driving a car into an old mine.
Really strange.
Yeah, seems very dangerous.
AREA 51 PEOPLE.
Camo dudes 😂😂
I thought it may have been a motorcycle.
(Cave-ins, thick mud, sharp metal hidden by the mud, snakes, bats, and potential toxic sludge)
as if you know what dangers lie there
@@Edis12121 lmaooo the just listed some
Not to mention any toxic gases that the cave might give off.
(echo)
Either that or ghosts love to talk to you lol.

Great video... Took some balls to go in there... I think there is some kinda energy or just memories that get replayed....

check out Stone Tape Theory. very interesting stuff!

schuylervrmr830 Yeah... Something like that...
i def think I heard distant conversations. a womans voice. not his wife. clean up the audio and enhance it .....i would most definetly wear oxygen masks or respirators and gloves. could be breathing very dangerous mold etc. very cool video. you two are brave.
I clearly hear mens voices in those clips. THATS CRAZY. It's very faint. But you can hear voices, or a voice. Definately a man.
that is water...
I heard a woman or children. Maybe it’s like that stupid viral sound that’s going round that only under 25s can hear lol

Those ghost hunters should stay the night there. That would be the best tv ever
After watching many pro cave exploring videos a common comment I’d often see was to not breathe in the air in an abandoned mine because it’s very dangerous.
And to avoid the stagnant water, it's better if it's flowing because it can be very dangerous.
Another of mines use I think cyanide to extract metals which is why stagnant water should be avoided as for the breathing look up Dead Air

Im going full screen, wish me luck...
Hi DIO I heard Jotaro beated the s**t out of you but I think Star platinum is just a mockery
You's are super brave I felt scared watching it, even the running water sounds creepy haha, them noises were odd like a whistling and muffled voices , really good explore one of my favourites.

You guys need to come here to Nebraska and explore some of the old Atlas missile silos.
Where's my Irish whiskey? Tullamore. cool information
Fucking New Guy. smh
the hills have eyes , anybody ever watched that movie ?...
At 7:02, it looks like a deer print next to the "dog" print. Strange that a deer would be in there.

Well at the point of playback in the middle of the video, I heard talking - men talking.
Then again water is known to recreate the sound of voices.
This is very true, I have a couple of aquariums and the sound of the water from the filter hitting the surface of the water makes it sound like the TV or something is on

I would never have gone down there without a mask. That place is probabl full of poison fungi.
Fungi is interesting because it can grow in places with no sun or minimal light wh9ch makes me wonder how it grew in natural caves eons ago that had weird bigger size fungi or maybe that looked like mushrooms somewhat too.
Nah mercury poison gas
That mist is mercury gas so I wouldn’t go in there a mask either
Life warns us to keep us on the path of least resistance. Experience tells me.
I just found this channel last week an I really like it
Thank You. :-)
Waiting to hear “Gollum! Gollum!”
The chains hanging remind me of the movie Hellraiser.
Yes
awesome video. we actually came across an abandoned mine conpletely randomly. there was an accident there in the 1910 or so where some gas leaked and killed over 100 people. it closed for good in 1930. it went back over a mile but for the first time we were too afraid to explore it :( but this video makes me really want to
Thank you bro!
Explore With Us
it's the danger of it that scares me.

I wonder if they used that water to power a sluice, and it's diverted on purpose
this video inspired me to get out and do more thank you😁
But mic to record, and leav it in the mine for a cuple of days.
