Lemon essential oil diffused daily when they begin to hibernate (preferably before they find your house) works beautifully! I put the diffuser in the part of the house they come to the most, and they just continue past the house now. We used to have a huge problem, but this really works and is pleasant, not to mention natural. You do have to be very consistent.
They drop ladybugs off in October from an airplane on purpose over my house to kill aphids and usually they’re all gone by Christmas but this year they never stopped and I still have them and it’s already March!
I usually don't squash a lady bug but I know if they are inside my home, I'm likely to get big spiders too. We're up in the North East and we have a sizable hill in the neighborhood that has Timber and Copperhead Rattlesnakes. I'm terrified of snakes and always wonder if they can slither in the same way as spiders and lady bugs.
The state of ohio turnd them loose but they don't want to help get rid of them ,they are so thick in oct , you can't sit outside on some days . They infested my new house and its nit full of cracks
They are multicolored Asian lady beetles. Very similar and appearance to ladybugs. Apparently ladybugs don’t congregate but Asian lady Beatles do. And those are the ones that are on the house.
I am a certified horticulturist in the state of Mississippi....I love ladybugs. Will a ladybug house put inside our south bedroom window make the ladybug infestation i get in there every year...make them come off the walls & ceiling & go into the ladybug house? I've tried that vacuum procedure. Too time consuming. I have hundreds of orchids, hoyas, plumerias & I do garden so I want to save the ladybugs. Looking for an easier solution to transporting them to my plants. What do you think?
I love ladybugs I really do but I have a lot and I don't really want to vacuum them and kill them I just want to set them free outside of my home what do I do about that
I live in the berkshires and every october they start getting in the cracks. I find the most useful is a dust buster. I just suck them up with them they are too slow to get away. They seem harmless but if you dont manage them they get annoying and will land on food in your house or your tv when watching at night. I tried caulking everything but i must be missing where they are coming in. Sure enough on the south, sunny side like the bug man said.
They invaded mah kitchen! They're flying all outside the back of the house. Spread out all over the siding. I don't even want to step outside cause they fly at you!!
I was told to look for an infestation. All the trim and walls inside my house are marked and stained by these stinking wanna be ladybugs. Could there be a nest in the attic or in the ground by our house?
6 years later and they are still going strong.
Lol

Shew me too!! I'm OVER vacuuming them up 😅
THANKS!!! Another channel just recommended 4 insecticides and I feel better about skipping that.
Thanks for the hints. For small control, I use a mix of mint oil, dish soap, and water. I t also works to kill wasps in the Spring and Summer.
