I feel the same about my photography focus. One day I'm one kind of photographer, another day a different one. Really situational based. I really don't feel like I need to box myself into any one genre. As far as always carrying a camera...I do the same. I once left my camera in a shopping cart. Fortunately, the worker kept it for me. Thank goodness for honest people in this world.
We photographers are so lucky to have Tomasz and Scott in our lives! Dziękuję bardzo! I would also had to your big three, Paulie B and his Walkie Talkie series on UA-cam
I LOVED this first episode and love Scot even more. His opening statement resonates with me and couldn’t have been prouder to have been interviewed by him last year. Well done Tomasz!
This was a fun video to watch and listen to your dialogue back and forth. I like the casual conversation W. Scott Olsen. His approach and attitude mirrors my work.
I loved this chat. There are so many things I can relate to that I have in common with Scott. I always carry a camera. I'm a big fan of serendipity. My photographic subjects are varied. I don't fit into any category because I'm motivated by whatever I see that moves me at any given moment. I enjoy images that tell stories. This series of chats is going to be great fun.
Loved watching the interview. A street photographer, a landscape or portrait... as opportunities presents itself. Simple beautiful photography. I feel even prouder that he interviewed me for the Frames.
Excellent and illuminating conversation Tomasz. For this reason and the fact that you gave one of my photos "editors mention", I follow and subscribe to your excellent channel:)) I hope your channel grows to a much wider audience.
Excellent interview and a podcast that we made mandatory for all of our NPPE students as Scott's outlook should open many eyes to the photography art form. Thanks much.
Enjoyed this exchange. Serendipity is also my modus operandi. One never quite knows what to expect, which images will present themselves. Each photo walk is an adventure, even if few, or even none of the images captured are felt to be worth keeping or sharing.
Lovely interview …. 95% of what he said resonated so much with me. I am pretty new to photography, but have been told by those way way better than me, that I am blessed with my ‘eye’ … I see stuff that many don’t, I chase light (and shadows) like a moth and I see shapes and colours in unusual settings. I’m not yet masterful with my camera to catch them as I’d quite like to, but I am pleased and inspired that I am wandering in the footsteps of an exceptional ‘narrative’ photographer 😊 📷
Loved this interview. Relaxed, down-to-earth, pragmatic views about Scott’s approach to his photography. The point he made about story telling and how as a writer that has informed his approach to making photographs was interesting, as was the comment about his advice to his poetry class: “a poem has to reward a first reading as well as the hundred and first reading"- thus with a photograph- the first attraction captures attention, but deeper revelations appear the more it's observed. Thoughtful, unpretentious and refreshing views in my honest opinion, not least the one encouraging us all not to be distracted by "all the noise"
I liked the relaxed, informal pace of this interview! You kept the questions geared towards real-life topics, not elevated, abstract concepts. I am an intermediate photographer, at best, and probably in the same category of Mr. Olsen, not specializing in any particular genre and preferring the serendipitous experience. I follow Alex Kilby and found your first attempt at a conversation about photography to be very similar to his channel in terms of my ability to follow along, understand, and learn! Nice work, Tomasz!
This is my first "face-to-face" with Mr. Olson, after hearing his Frames podcast interviews for a few years. The mystery was finally revealed, and I was neither surprised nor disappointed, but happy that he looked like an old coot like me! He does a superb job interviewing, and I was glad to see he's also a writer. His varied creativity in story-telling explains why his photography isn't restricted to one genre.
Scott did a great job at answering questions from the moderator. I thoroughly enjoy his photography and ability to decipher the questions asked by someone who clearly has a difficult time formulating a question. It seemed like the moderator was trying to pin down Scott's style how and wanted specific answers to satisfy his questions. That's just my interpretation of this video. "why did you leave it in color instead of B&W" (single tree landscape picture) Ans: Because it looks better in color? I was hoping Scott would have said that but his answer was excellent either way. Thanks!
Great stuff, great job, lol I do remember the first image and remember the best result of Kodachrome, lol for my personal taste film it will never die on less we all gone . Thanks for sharing your thoughts and passion!
I also follow the 3 photographers/youtuber you mentioned and yes is true what you said about them. Most youtuber/photographers are branded and talk al tot about gear not photography but not this three and I think there are many other so I like your idea and go look for these.
Regarding privacy: no one seems to put up a fuss about the 24/7 surveillance cameras just about everywhere nowadays. And they're not just taking a snapshot. They track and store data on each person
Hi. I use a Nikon Z50, and 99% of the time I have a 28mm f2.8 prime attached, with a 1/8 promist filter. It's just a look I like. I do have other lenses for other needs, though.
I feel the same I don’t say I’m a certain type of photographer. I travel alot and mainly carry either an Xpro-2 by Fuji digital camera or a Fuji 645 W when I feel like and can afford 120 film I might take my Horseman FA45 5x4 camera I can’t be pigeon holed there is no father to my style I’m the ODB of photography.
Well, I signed up with you today. I want to tell you that the content is great, but I want you to keep in mind that photography, until the virus arrived, was something perfect on UA-cam, if you find something strange on many of those channels, (which have ceased to exist, many of them.) has been for that. Photography continues to be a danger for dictatorships, and we are in that process. Don't tell me you don't see it. Forgive me if you seem sincere.

Good points. A photography must tell a story. Have you viewed The Crit House with Jeff Larson? It's all about photographers photographs. It's unique.
Yes. In fact, Scott was also once a guest on that channel.
Great, I'll check it out, thanks.@@framesmagazine
Great channel…shout out for Paulie B as another of my favourite photography channels.

Does Mr Olsen’s ‘always-with-him camera have fixed lens or zoom?
And what are the focal length(s)?
And why that choice?
