You only see a handful of women throughout your life that you can call a "heartbreaker". Sean is one of them. Maybe Ann Margret, Olivia Newton John, Vivien Leigh...

the only thing that was soooo unfortunate for sean young was that her roles and fame came so early, and she loved it sooooo much that the blow back that came afterwards due to the wolves of hollywood not getting what they wanted from her, would see her somewhat blocked out of the A-list scene. so many jerks would take jabs at her credibility, and all truly forgetting at the time just how young she was. So if she said anything or rejected anyone they took it to the extreme. so much of her life would see that longing to be back in the a-list crowd, as any young person would having had the taste of fame wealth and stardome, but the burden of it slipping away must have been an aweful life lesson. Especially to not know something very basic when it comes to early success.... no one ever said that lightning only strikes once. We have seen so many great past actors once again brought back to the forefront and reminded just how good they are, even how much better they are than most of todays younger actors. I heard how they treated her on 2049.. really shamefull of denis vellenie, fly her all the way to budapest just to sit next to him. acting role. One could argue at least she was brought in just out of respect, and she was used in the creation of her digital dopple ganger, but if it were me, ide somehow find a way to add her current older self to the film. and i actually found that way.. by making her older self, tyrells niece Sarrah, of whom rachel was a replicant copy. Then the story couldve had a real dynamic. the original rachel die in childbirth, a child from her and deckard, deckard arguably a replicant himself, And tyrells niece of whom the Tyrell corporation shouldve fell into the hands of has her own agenda not just with Wallace but also with this deckard and an offspring that is an offshoot of her indirectly but genetically. so easy,

Excellent summation, agree with all about Sean, an amazing and mostly underrated talent and complete beauty. Brilliant concept to have her older self return as Tyrells niece.

@@ski8799 Ive been in the film industry since the 90's as an animator and vfx artist. 1st generation. and it has always amazed me just how bad many directors and writers are. Im talking.. you sit their working with these guys wondering how on earth did they get their jobs. But often its the case that its all about who people know rather than what people know. And the real gifted folks are kept out of the industry as not to show up the establishment. its the same thing in most jobs and fields. Bosses making the big bucks but dont have a clue about their own business. But thats all an age old story. A case of the smart being dumb and the dumb being clever enough to talk their way up a ladder. BS sells. And most people love a good sales pitch. I woke up today with a great idea.. a Blade Runner anime series. much on the order of Ghost in the shell. Heck would be fantastic if such a thing was headed by Production IG.

These days there is the narrative about how Sean Young was exiled by the Hollywood elite over a period time. I think there's only some truth to that. If you look at Sean Young's entire filmography leading up the the exile period most of them are not hits. Some of her biggest movies like Blade Runner and Dune bombed and lost money. The one really notable hit she was in was Ace Ventura and that was because of Jim Carey mostly. So even though you could technically say she was "run out of Hollywood", that can't really happen if a person's star power is big enough. If you look at the really big A-listers, they are people who tend to make a movie a hit just by them being in it, unless the movie is pretty bad. Another quality of true A-listers is that MOST of their movies are hits or make money. This is what it means to be "bankable". If an actor is bankable they will get the roles because Hollywood wants to make money at the end of the day. I don't see any evidence that Sean Young ever met this criteria for being either a true A-lister, or bankable. That being said, she still had far more success than most and had plenty going for her. There are not many actors in the biz that are lucky enough to have a decades-long career filled with nice roles in popular movies. If you look at ALL the actors who appear in movies over the years, only a very small percentage have what it takes to do that.
