    Brill videos . Was wondering what you use for trappers and how you manage / train them to do their job ?

    • @ssbrownracingpigeons37
      @ssbrownracingpigeons37  Рік тому

      They like basically Valencian Figurita
      Or we have German owl pigeons. Tho the figs are better I think…..
      They are also trained with the youngster at the start of the year…. Let out with them and they trap with them at the start of the year. Then it’s habitat pal 👍👍

      Thanks pal, north in the wind they certainly have to work into more, a lot lower on arrival so they do trap better pal!
      Thanks mate, becoming a pain, but we will get there I think 😂😂 nah just kidding looking forward to the finish product mate

    Another cracking VLOG Gents always interesting watch,they trap very quickly when they’re hungry . Well trained and looked after. Does your roof need to be weather proofed or can you put more mesh at the top with a lean-to at the roof from polycarbon ? Or just lower the front to the same height as your existing traps.

      @ssbrownracingpigeons37  Рік тому

      Thanks Davy, north winds sure makes the pigeons work, they can sure use up a far bit of energy mate.
      Yeah need to keep the rain out and will help with rain not hitting the front of the shed, but thanks for the input something we can look at pal 🤝
      Appreciate the comments Davy 👍👍

      Certainly was tough on them, between everything threw at them the did manage it well. Seeing pigeons dropping on the trap in heavy rain and soaked to the skin certainly makes me happy to see the grit and determination to get home ❤️
      Yeah we will have a finish product at some point I’m sure pal 👍

    Hi Steven,still close to the Top,think the heavy showers would split the birds up,good to see them working hard and coming through them,hope you get the 8 that's still to come, good luck for the races this coming weekend 🤞

    • @ssbrownracingpigeons37
      @ssbrownracingpigeons37  Рік тому

      Thanks Robert, that’s it pal, pigeons can either go right or left of the rain and depending how far that rain stretches out there certainly pigeons flying more miles and some not lucky getting caught in the heart of it but as you said great to see them work through it! We have 6 to come mate. But onwards and upwards hopefully 🤞 😂😂

      Hi Again, just thinking about your aviary,would it be possible to make your loft door sliding, this might give you enough clearance for the roof.

    Hi Stephen after a hard race like that whats best to give them to get them back rite..

    • @ssbrownracingpigeons37
      @ssbrownracingpigeons37  Рік тому

      Hi joe, no magic potions mate, feed is light to help get the digestive system but to working a normal rate for a day or two, brewers Yeast, Lemon juice, getting a electrolyte &honey in the water for the day.
      Then it’s down adding the right feed, carbs, protein, fats, to put the body back on, some gempax will be mix in there feed….you will observe this when the pigeons go out and fly, if they need more or not plenty of grit and minerals as you find the body used them up in harder races so they becoming abit depleted mate
