If the refs are unbiased and call the elbow fouls AND insist that the forearm/triceps are NOT the elbow (which they are not), Todd has almost ZERO chance of beating Devon.
The problem is that too many refs ignore the elbow fouls and they let the elbow leave the pad and consider the forearm to be okay.

Thanks Neil, That was a fantastic discussion and I think Rob, Mike and Devon all made excellent points. We have weight divisions for a reason, as was pointed out. The exception, of course, is Super Heavy when the sky's the limit. Weight is no use, as Mike pointed out, if its simply blubber. There's a sweet spot for every athlete. You can get bigger but lose endurance or dynamism. We also have to admit that some athletes are doing things to their bodies, in order to get bigger, that is detrimental to their health.
It's honestly amazing, these dudes are huge, strong, in great shape and they still look like human beings. Meanwhile, over in eastern Europe, you've got Levan and Denis looking like Seth McFarlane drawings due to all the fucking HGH and steroids.
Yeah...you can not sit with them in KFC...

@FirstEastern Perspective you're stupid, neither of those are as strong as Denis and chaffe for example has pinned denis, he'd beat almost everyone in the top 8, so would michael todd, so would devon, it's only vitaly and especially levan that are looking unstoppable.

I agree with them. Size matters up to the point where the competition is too great or until your frame/geometry/style can't effectively use more mass. I think this translates to wrestling too.

You can see denis true peak when he is fighting against late andrey pushkar, dave chaffee and arsen liliev . The size that john beat is smaller version when denis still inexperienced but still stronger than other top armwrestler that time and john have the same age like devon that time , around 40+ . I don't think john has passed his prime yet, it's true he getting older that time but he become so experience, technical and heavier that time. He prepared so well because of his thought to face voevoda again, but unfortunately voevoda already retired.

@@bacon9151 That's exactly why I think he won't use it. If you watch the match when he won against Todd, you can see he got OVER the KM and pulled him down with a weird angle. But I don't think he'll do that now... But I also don't think he will use the King's Move, since Michael has more experience with it. But I'm excited to see what happens
Todd has a natural lock on his arm which makes the king's move perfect for him. Devon is good with the king's move and has its uses but brings much more to the table these days. Also that weight gain has increased his strength a decent amount but I would imagine he would loose a km contest with Todd

Been arm wrestling in japan for the last 2 years and I gotta say it’s hard telling just how strong people are here until you grip up with them. At my size I have to pull as tactical as possible because there’s middle and heavyweights who are just plain stronger than me and the only thing I can do is try to stop the match and look for weak points. Size definitely helps mechanically but as far as muscle mass goes I no longer use it as a way of judging how strong they are. Big difference between show muscle and go muscle.

Kings move should have really been named "Jesters Move", tbh. Interesting discussion around size. Very true, skill/ability can only get you so far with pumping against a higher class. Hence, reasons I may have been "stronger" technically than a friend, but being a lot heavier was able to throw me easier. Can't always fight mass.
One day I wanna go pro! I'm really good at arm wrestling, I've got the moves and strength... but nothing like these guys.

I would have liked for them to talk about John, yeah. Actually I would have loved for him to be there in the room.
John Brzenk was incredible. Started out as a lightweight but ending up smashing super heavyweights.
Travis bagent’s wife says otherwise
John Breznk is an awesome armwrestler (one of my favorite), but size do matter, even for him. Look his match against Alexey Voevoda, or the one against Travis Bagent. Both of them are heavier than John, and they do beat him. Heavier means stronger, not all the time, but very often. Same with Strongmen, they are heavy because they know it means more mass, more muscles, more strenght.
You have case of smaller guys that can beat heavier ones, but it's out of the ordinary.

Good discussion. Some of these professionals are so big that they can’t get their shoulders into position to take advantage of their strength and size. From some of the matches I’ve watched.

He's clearly been on the gear, it's not just the swollen face that gives it away but also the reddening. When you juice the blood pressure goes up massively.

Not arguing he isn’t natty here but putting on a lot of muscle is hard at any age. Not a huge difference in your 40’s compared to your 20’s and 30’s. 40’s you’ll notice longer recovery and nagging joint issues being the biggest impeding factor not the slight decline in testosterone but you can still build/maintain good muscle and strength well into your 40’s. Of course individual genetics will vary results.
50’s and older is where the decline truly begins.

Without question, Devon is the brightest arm wrestler I've ever seen. The only person that comes close to him is Engin. He is a walking encyclopedia. I could listen to him talk strategy and analysis all day
