I did this about 2 years ago except gripped the TL-PD40 in aluminium vise jaws and rotated the pedal body. I completely disassembled the cup and cone bearings as I thought they may have been damaged. If you do this the balls will want to go everywhere !
You can get the TL-PD40 for £2 from Tweeks cycles but the free delivery only applies at £50 so you will need to find something else to buy 😞
For legal riding in the UK at night you will need pedal reflectors. I got the SM-PD22 which SJS cycles sell. They clip into one side of the PD-M520 so not a perfect solution, but they make the pedals bottom heavy so its easy to clip shoe cleats in the other side.

I did consider completely stripping the bearings down, but I want keep it simple and provide a quick and easy solution just to adjust the tension on the bearing setup (too loose/tight) and replace the grease. Good advice on the addition platforms, great for if you want to go out in normal shoes too! 👍

Are you kidding me? Dismantle the whole body, clean it up, grease it properly instead of filling it all with grease. What a waste of grease, and it will never fully fill!
