The Red Skeletons - "From the Crypt" (2003) Full First Album *Horror Punk*

- After doing the PFD album of punk covers I decided to stay in that mode and did the Lethargic "Too Dumb to Die" album. But after that I was still in the mood.
I had been thinking about starting a Misfits inspired horror punk band thing for a while but lacked the final motivation to really try. Then one night while watching a Red Skelton movie I finally got motivation for some reason. I came up with this idiotic idea of doing a horror punk band called The Red Skeltons. Instead of the Crimson Ghost our logo would be Red Skelton with a red skull painted over his face.
I asked my friend to help write lyrics but there was a miscommunication somewhere. He came back and had several songs written about some evil villain straight out of a 1940s serial named "The Red Skeleton". I was like...uh, I said Red Skelton, not Red Skeleton. But it was what it was now. I just went with it. We were no longer The Red Skeltons, now we were The Red Skeletons.
As usual with me even though it was supposed to be a Misfits type punk band it kinda went all over the place. And even more as usual... some of it's good and some of it ain't. One song was so bad I left it off this UA-cam version. lol And it's STILL somehow 19 songs long. We may have gone overboard. Despite it's flaws it remains one of my favorite projects. Particularly from the old "midi drum" era. I am strangely proud of Jason which is perhaps the only Weird Al parody type song I've ever done. It's a parody of Get Free by The Vines. I have to assume I'm the only person in the world who heard that aong and said, this would be perfect if it was about Friday the 13th.

Partytime is a 45 Grave cover ... Heh.... awesomeness ❤. 👊
@@HadesMiscreant Was never happy with that cover. I loved the song because of the scene in Return of the Living Dead so all I knew of it back then was the chorus. I wasn't prepared for what the rest of the song sounded like. lol
❤❤❤❤❤❤❤🤟🤟🤘🤘🤘
