@@MemesWorms they are so active. I had red wigglers already and they aren't as active like those European earthworms! Wow those worms are fast . I ordered the 3 worm combo. I was just wondering what are blue worms? How do you tell them apart and how big are they? I saw one of your videos on having pure red wigglers, why would someone not want the blue wigglers? I've kept worms for years I think around 20 years, but I've only had red wigglers so I don't know anything about the other worms. I'm leaning so much from your videos on UA-cam, so thank you for that. I'm just so excited to have these new worms, no one else seems to be as excited as me haha 😂. Lol my daughter is scared to death of worms. She's 24 years old, but when she was around 4 years old so got into my worms for some reason and then she was playing with them on the carpet and they started going into the carpet and disappearing and for reason it scared her so bad, like she was seeing a ghost or something. I asked her what she was doing with the worms and she said she was playing with them and then she started crying. She still remembers that. I can't help it but I think its kind of funny and I tease her about it now, I didn't when she was a child because she was really scared and she never touched the worms again. Lol so of course I had to show her my new worms, 😂 and she said ewe ewe mom you know I hate worms! Well I guess we won't be starting a worm business together haha. Every time I think of worm business I think of Dumb and Dumber ,Got Worms! 😂
The blue worms clitellum will be closer to the head. It will be flush with the body. They do t have yellow tales and move very fast. The reds clitellum will be further back from the head and raised off the body. They have yellow tales and are slow moving. I don't understand why people don't like blues as they devour feed stock and make great castings. They multiply faster. A blue worm lays approx 19 cocoons per week. But to be fair they are a tropical worm and can't handle too cold of Temps however you just take the same approach as you do for amy other worm and make sure to keep there home happy like you would the reds or euros or africans.
I've a Shredstar 14 sheet shredder. It'll manage around an hour of constant running before the thermal cut-out kicks in. Mind you, that's around 15-20lbs of cardboard.
I am just amazed with all that I am learning from you on this channel. Now I am going to have to order me a new shredder cause mine does get hot and has to take a lunch break or shall I say a smoke break LOL not that I smoke ya know, but just saying it might a little LOL and I love that cutter you said you get from Harbor Freight, on my way over there in just a bit. I love my HF!
@@MemesWorms Well I got the cutter from HF, set me back about $40 on sale but I do love it! Now to get a good shredder and my worms can again enjoy their shredded cardboard bedding. This cold we had was no joke, had the worms inside the house with me. Tonight is the 1st night they are back outside and I am glad because there are still some little gnats or whatever they are in there with them. My plan was that when it warmed up I was going to clean them up best I could and start them with a fresh set up in the mortar mixing tubs. I am hoping this will help get rid of the pests. At least not having to deal with them in the house is good for me but if it gets cold out again like it was I tell ya they will have to come back inside again. Luckily I don't have a farm of worms just a couple of bins worth I've been growing out. I'm hoping I didn't kill them because I've just not had time to get down in there and check, waiting on moving them into the new bin to see. Thanks again Sam.
Such an awsome discovery i've had finding this channel! Im a plants enthusiast, and i would like to know if there are certain types of cardboard you avoid? Like soda cans´s packs (which have a design packaging and are not a clean brown cardboard), or just does not matter? Also, whats the name of the electric tool (the one with the circular blade) you use for cutting the cardboard? Again, great content, keep it up the good work!
@tgmmedia i use any and all cardbaord except any that have had pesticides in them. I usually get our boxes from Dollar General. The cutter tool is amzn.to/4alNmUt
This channel is awesome. I've learned a lot. My question meme is, how often do you sharpen the blades of the shredders? Do you use the sharpener/oil papers ? Does the oil affect the worms ? Do you know what kind of oil shredders use? Thank you!!!
Meme if i purchase 3 lb of RW have them bagged 1 lb each but shipped together less than 60 milrs from what would the proce be. Probbably ordering 2 or 3 lbs this week or next week.
All of our prices are online. We dont charge extra for separate bagging unless we have to go up on box size and we can ship together. In this case you would need to order a 1lb and a 2 lb and email me that you want to have them bagged separately. We would ship them all in the same box. Shipping is free to all 48 lower states.
I looked on Amazon and googled cardboard shredders and they aren’t listed as a cardboard shredder. They are listed according to how many sheets of paper you can shred at the same time. So, how many sheets can your Amazon basic shredder handle?
I bought the Amazon basic 12 sheet, because it was recommended, but I regret it. The paper opening is too narrow for some cardboard. I’ll use it until it dies, I don’t shred that much cardboard. The bin does hold a lot of shreds.
nice peek inside! Do you guys ever lube your shredder? I've been thinking I love my shredder and am trying to figure out how to best give it maintenance.
@@MemesWorms there are several Amazon basics shredders. Approximately what was the cost or is there a model number? Love your videos and will be ordering some worms soon. Getting a worm bin set up 😍
I am surprised a $186 shredder is what a big operation uses? Isnt' there a bigger shredder that will make this less time consuming and save you on labor costs?
Very nice set up! Got my worms yesterday - so happy!
Im so happy you are happy
Thank you Sharon for shipping out my worms last week. They are doing great!
You are welcome so happy they are doing fine

The amazon basice will run all day, never had it over heat yet. Been about 3 or 4 yrs
Thank you 🙏. Beautiful Information ℹ️. I’m ordering the same shredder you use now.
You will love it
Great video
Thanks exactly what i was looking for!
Glad I could help!
I like the way you are doing it, I've sold worms before and it can be a job for one person
Yes, it is. I love it though so it doesn't feel like work!
This is amazing ❤
Not sure how I missed this video.
thank you

I know my old one used to over heat and costed me so much time waiting for it to cool down.

We do oil as needed. We use oil sheets and throw it away once it runs though.
Do u have to let the shredders cool down, and how long do you shred before doing this?
if you have the amazon basic shredder it doesn't have to cool down. I use it a bout 8 hrs straight with no cool down time.

I get a ton of large cardboard from funiture stores. But I use it to lay down on the garden.
I have a micro cut that chops my cardboard into 1/8x1/8 pieces.
That's good to use.

yes, you really do need to keep it lubed.
I use grape seed oil to lube mine.

We use the oil paper you can buy and run through thr shredder. Just clean it and throw away the shreds

I like your setup. It is time consuming.
It was but now i have someone who that's all they do.
Hi, amazon link doesn't work, any model name or number on the amazon basic? purchased a bonsaii, not so good. thank you.
Hi Mary Ellen, The one I use is a 24 sheet. Amazon Basic. I see Amazon is not selling it right now. They do have amzn.to/3yrFHT3 but very expensive
@@MemesWorms thank you.
Mary, I bought the Amazon Basic 12-sheet shredder. I wish I had gone a bit bigger. This shredder does work, but I have to force the cardboard into it.
what is the name of the hand tool to cut the cardboard?
We buy it harbor freight www.harborfreight.com/4v-cordless-power-cutter-56192.html

Yes

Well I didn't want to spend 10000 of dollars for one. We have grand kids that help us to make some spending money.

@southbridgeforestHOA yes but at the time we didn't have the money. It all takes time. We now have a cyclone
