Two weeks ago I just came across a SEO company who does it the right way thats described in this video. I'm looking to rank high in each city and to make a ton of 💰!!!! This guy is speaking the truth!!
Thank you so much for this. I now know how to properly help a garage door repair company who has their office in one location but serves 4 other locations. I didn't want to do anything spammy and your explanation is amazing, thank you.
Damn I was about to do what the surveyors did. So glad I came across this. Top advice and yes it may take longer but worth spending the extra time for each location considering you’re only doing this from scratch once. Thanks
Indeed. There is no shortcut to success. Hard work is what differentiate us from the others. Take the time to build valuable content that will be useful to your visitors and you'll always win
Thanks for all the great content! You rock! 2 questions for you. Question 1. So if I'm trying to get a small business like a chiropractic clinic to rank for the closest cities around the office. Do I make a page and add it to my main menu that says "areas we serve" as you did for Excel electricians or would that not work for a chiropractic clinic website? Question 2. Can all the multiple-page cities landing pages I'm trying to rank for have pretty much the same text minus a change in the "city name" or should it be drastically different.
First, do you rank for your own location ie, do you dominate the area for all the keywords you are targeting? Second, if you're a brick and mortar business (which I assume you would be being a chiropractor) you don't visit people at their home so working on location pages might be a waste of time unless the city you are talking about is super close to you. I would make sure that the service pages of your business are top notch first and consider every angles before delving into location pages.
@@rankingacademy We rank pretty well for chiropractic "my city name" however, a lot of offices are using google review gating, which makes it hard to keep up with there GMB ranking. When you say make sure the service pages of the business are top notch first. Do you have an example you can share with me? some of my services pages are post and some are actual pages. I don't know if that matters a lot?
If you operate in one primary location, would it make sense to target your major city keyword on your homepage, or a dedicated city landing page. The homepage typically doesn't have too much content on it, but is the most linked to page.
Hi Dan. As you correctly assumed, you are better off targeting your main location using your home page. Don't be scared to add more content to your home page. Only create separate location pages for cities you are trying to be visible for where you don't have a physical presence. That's what i do anyway
hi Ranking Academy, great info as always! It would be great if you could do one video about Google ads for businesses trying to reach customers in --other countries--! Example: We are a Vietnam-based manufacturing company, wishing to reach potential customers in the U.S.! What's the best way to reach our target customers? Which audience to choose (purchase directors, decision-makers, etc.)! This surely would be interesting for many Asia-based companies!
Hi Luc, I appreciated your helpful videos. So great! How do I update the pre-populated link in Google My Business (Products & Services Menu?) some links, I don't know how it get there in the first place. It's maybe something you call it "doorway" I look forward for your reply or maybe on your next video about this. Thank you, Luc.
Hey there great video! Have a quick question, What if you offer multiple types of services in brooklyn such as emergency electrician and emergency plumber from 1 site? Also how do you rank for more specific places, you create a landing page for brooklyn, but if you want to rank for a neighbourhood inside brooklyn such as Bedford how would you do it?
Multiple services would raise the question...could you have a separate business website, domain logo and treat the 2 services as independent businesses. if so then just do everything as you would for one business but make sure your NAP for each is unique. Alternatively you could have a primary service and add the secondary services, though this is less effective hope that helps
Regarding ranking in a more specific area it works the same way mention the area and be specific even geo tagging your images to the local area will help The best way to look at it is view it from a genuine customers perspective what would they want to see? Genuine photos of services local information and knowledge testimonials of real local businesses directions on where you are and how to get there....etc
Great info as usual, Luke. Here's a question I'm sure a lot of seo's are wondering about: If you have multiple locations WITH GOOGLE MY Business pages for each one, should you create all pages for these locations on one website, or make a different website for each Google My Business Page?
You should only run one website. Running multiple website would be a crazy idea because you'd have to build authority for each of them (link building madness), publish original content for each of them, have a different domain name etc... Build one site, create a specific page for each location and claim a Google listing for each location.
@@rankingacademy Ok Luke- here's the biggie- let's say I have a website with multiple location pages, as you suggest. And a corresponding GMB for each location. What do I list as the url for each location on the different GMB pages? The main url of the site, or the one for that location? AND, will this mess up my NAPS in directories? Thank you for your wisdom and input.
Interesting approach to multiple locations. I did check out the Handyman site. The pages for the locations are near duplicates of the main home page, the only differences being the mostly the address at the top right and the name of the city. Does this cause a duplication of content issue with Google, or could it cause such an issue?
Hi David. Thanks for your comment. The example of the handyman was to illustrate the navigation aspect of the site. The bottom line is simple, the more unique your pages will be the better it is. Duplicate content is an issue for google but I would also point out that you should always create content for your visitors first. Copying and pasting templated pages may work in the short term but it is also a short cut for potential disaster and create a very poor user experience.
@@rankingacademy Hello and thanks for the reply. I hope Google recognized this as content for the benefit of the user. They do seem to rank well with this technique. That is encouraging. Is local schema being used as well with these pages? That could further help Google judge them as independent and not near clones. How on earth can they still be doing my SEO? Do you think it's at all possible (just wanted advice from someone professional who I know I can trust). Thanks and please keep the videos coming!
Hi Sean If you are using an agency for your SEO and they don't even have access to your site i would be very worried indeed. SEO is conducted in two ways. There is what we call, On page SEO, which means you optimise your content, create new pages , update you page title with the right keywords etc...and Off site SEO, which is essentially creating citations and build links so they point to your site to create authority and help you rank. If they don't have access to your site that means they can't do half the job. Not sure how much you are paying them but i would certainly ask them for an exact breakdown of what they provide every month and how it impacts performance. I check my client's progress daily and send them reports weekly so they know what is happening. And i have total access of their site ;-)

Make the content contextual. Give example of the work you have done for that very locations, add client testimonials located in that area, cover local events in which your business has been participating etc...
Quality info as always. Recently had 2 city pages removed from google Serp - None of the ' fiver SEO experts' could tell me why? Both pages were identical except for 1 word & still indexed green in GSC. Worth amending each one or start again from scratch?

Hi Luke, your library continues to be supremely helpful. So, when you mention local organic city landing pages, I've been planning on slowly creating additional pages to my site which these local landing pages. Provided each page has an embedded map for the specific targeted city, and relevant information, could you please confirm it won't present a conflict of interest so long as my NAP remains unchanged? If ultimately, I'm considering just north of 20 targeted city pages, do you view this as excessive? Thanks for sharing your thoughts, Delfino
No it won't conflict. Unless you have a lot of time on your hands I think 20 pages is a lot. You are better off creating less pages but focus on the content otherwise there is a risk you will run out of relevant stuff to write about
Excellent really well done video! Question, is a business do have 2 separate offices in different locations, I assume when doing citations you want to do separate sets of citations with links back to each location page NOT just the homepage?
Good Morning. Do you have a video on adding GMB store locations? This feels more confusing than I feel like it should be. 1. Do I have a postcard sent to locations? 2. Adding pins to map? 3. Do all my Google reviews come to my original GMB page or will I be sharing Google reviews for each location? I would like to add six locations but do not want to water down my business I have going now. Help if you can. Thank you for all your help
Thank you for the great content!! What is a good tool to use to track the organic results for my keywords in multiple cities (5 cities that I want to service and rank for my keywords)? I know that SEMrush has the ability to do that, but it's only available in their Guru and higher packages. The rest of the tools that I see is tracking Google Local specifically and not the organic results for my keywords for multiple cities. Please advise and thank you in advance!!
@@rankingacademy Brightlocal is for the local section of Google. I'm talking about the Organic section of Google Search (the one with 10 results). Please advise.
I use a Service Area in GMB and this shows on the Google Map. Can I do this for two areas on the map that are hours apart? I have staff that live in the other location as well. I would like both areas to appear on the map. Thank you.
Google will define the area based on the locations you specify, so you won't be able to set up two areas. To have two areas you would need two listings
Hard to describe but can not find a video on having verified locations versus say location pins? Looking to add six more locations but the correct way. Using on website URL, Would you add these locations on your page with URLs with keywords in the URL pointing to that city? There is not a good video on this that I can find anywhere. Help us all out.. Take care
Once again I am confused by what you mean "verified locations versus say location pins" The bottom line is this: If you serve customers at a brick and mortar location, you should create a Google Profile for it with the correct address which will give you a pin on the map. In your case, your farm. If you have multiple brick and mortar locations you should create a listing for each and everyone of them then you'll get multiple pins, one for each location. If you have a farm in the 6 locations where you want to add a pin then you will be fine. If not, you are not legible for a listing in those locations.
Hi Naomi. I redesigned my website since, the page was culled, sorry. If you are trying to rank for multiple locations you might want to watch this video which is more up to date: ua-cam.com/video/r42mmr0VI04/v-deo.html
I have a question about small businesses that offer services a long way from their base. I live in the middle of Spain and offer residential building surveying services in all of the coastal areas of Spain. I usually fly or go by rail and hire a car at the airport or station. If I rent an apartment in the second location I assume I could get a second address. I have tried to do this on Google, just to see if is is possible but it just loops round all the time and you can never get to a form where you can add a second address. Do you know how this can be done?
If you have a google my business profile you shouldn't specify the address of your home. Instead in the service area option simply add the postcodes of the areas you are serving.
Sir, my google map is ranking No.1 (it includes website button) but my real website is not on first second page of google. Do I still need to try my website to rank higher to be on first page?
Can I get good ranking for multiple keywords and different branch office on Google My Business? I make different landing pages for that! Should be feasible, right? Example: SEO Agency Berlin, SEO Agency Hamburg | Advertising agency Berlin, advertising agency Hamburg | etc. all keywords will be relevant to the main keywords or main category.
Cool. In that case you'll need to create a google my business listing for each agency. I would also suggest you create a dedicated page on your site for each city. Each respective google my business listing website link should point to that page Also build citations for each agency in each city as well as links pointing to the dedicated page on your website. That way you will have a great chance of ranking for each agency in each city in the map pack and in classic organic results
Hi Kamal. It doesn't work that way. Volume has nothing to do with the traffic you will get. It's about quality and value that you provide. You could have just a handful of posts and generate thousands of visitors as long as your posts are of high quality

You massively misunderstand how they created those pages, and how they are updated. Not saying its right, just saying they can be created in about 30 minutes.
Thanks Nathan. You can certainly churn out pages very quickly but since Google wants rich, in depth and quality content it is hard to believe you can achieve this in as little as 30 minutes. But if it works for you then that's great
Creating mass pages in minutes is the last thing I would recommend doing. You should create content for visitors and not search engines. Cookie cutter solutions are generally a very bad idea when it comes to SEO

No it won't conflict. Unless you have a lot of time on your hands I think 20 pages is a lot. You are better off creating less pages but focus on the content otherwise there is a risk you will run out of relevant stuff to write about
@@rankingacademy Thanks Luke! Great points all around. Have a great one, Delfino
@@rankingacademy Thanks Luke.
Excellent really well done video! Question, is a business do have 2 separate offices in different locations, I assume when doing citations you want to do separate sets of citations with links back to each location page NOT just the homepage?
Yes, exactly and you'll need to GMB profiles too
@@rankingacademy perfect, thank you
Great advice, thank you.
Glad it was helpful! Thanks for your comment
Hello,
Great video sir. How do i add the service location pages to my website once created? (WordPress) much appreciated.
Like any other page.
@@rankingacademy Many thanks.
Excellent video, you are a rock star!
Many thanks 🎤
Good Morning. Do you have a video on adding GMB store locations? This feels more confusing than I feel like it should be. 1. Do I have a postcard sent to locations? 2. Adding pins to map? 3. Do all my Google reviews come to my original GMB page or will I be sharing Google reviews for each location? I would like to add six locations but do not want to water down my business I have going now. Help if you can. Thank you for all your help
See my previous response.
Is this better than using a blog? I write a blog post for every project I complete but I have a tough time ranking in bigger cities.
It depends on your blog article. But if you want to rank for other cities you need to create content specific to them
Thank you for the great content!!
Have you tried brightlocal.com?
@@rankingacademy Brightlocal is for the local section of Google. I'm talking about the Organic section of Google Search (the one with 10 results). Please advise.
Learning something worthwhile everytime. Thanks.
Thanks Big Blue
I use a Service Area in GMB and this shows on the Google Map. Can I do this for two areas on the map that are hours apart? I have staff that live in the other location as well. I would like both areas to appear on the map. Thank you.
Google will define the area based on the locations you specify, so you won't be able to set up two areas. To have two areas you would need two listings
awesome explanation about Local SEO topic.👍👏
Many thanks
hello... do you recommends to put the name in the city on the URL, for local SEO?
Yes
Hard to describe but can not find a video on having verified locations versus say location pins? Looking to add six more locations but the correct way. Using on website URL, Would you add these locations on your page with URLs with keywords in the URL pointing to that city? There is not a good video on this that I can find anywhere. Help us all out.. Take care
Once again I am confused by what you mean "verified locations versus say location pins" The bottom line is this:
If you serve customers at a brick and mortar location, you should create a Google Profile for it with the correct address which will give you a pin on the map. In your case, your farm.
If you have multiple brick and mortar locations you should create a listing for each and everyone of them then you'll get multiple pins, one for each location. If you have a farm in the 6 locations where you want to add a pin then you will be fine. If not, you are not legible for a listing in those locations.
THe url with brooklyn is non existent. Why?
Hi Naomi. I redesigned my website since, the page was culled, sorry. If you are trying to rank for multiple locations you might want to watch this video which is more up to date: ua-cam.com/video/r42mmr0VI04/v-deo.html
Another nice vid. Thanks so much for sharing
Many thanks for watching Nicolas
Excellent!!!!!
Many thnaks
This is gold. Thank you
Thanks kurtis
Brilliant
Thanks
you are the best 🥰🥰🥰🥰🥰🥰
😊 thanks
Great video
Thanks scott
How to create location-based page with unique content, not doorway page...Kindly give few example
Thanks
No problem
Great content Sir!!!
Thanks Jas
Sir, my google map is ranking No.1 (it includes website button) but my real website is not on first second page of google. Do I still need to try my website to rank higher to be on first page?
Yes
Can I get good ranking for multiple keywords and different branch office on Google My Business? I make different landing pages for that! Should be feasible, right? Example: SEO Agency Berlin, SEO Agency Hamburg | Advertising agency Berlin, advertising agency Hamburg | etc. all keywords will be relevant to the main keywords or main category.
Unless you have a physical agency in each city i think you're going to struggle
@@rankingacademy There is a physical agency in each city
Cool. In that case you'll need to create a google my business listing for each agency.
I would also suggest you create a dedicated page on your site for each city.
Each respective google my business listing website link should point to that page
Also build citations for each agency in each city as well as links pointing to the dedicated page on your website.
That way you will have a great chance of ranking for each agency in each city in the map pack and in classic organic results
thanks
You're welcome!
Thanks bro
My pleasure
I only have a Facebook page for my business - I guess there are no hacks for it to be showing in different locations?
No
Can you tell me the minimum number of blog posts you think required to get a 10k visitors every month.
Hi Kamal. It doesn't work that way. Volume has nothing to do with the traffic you will get. It's about quality and value that you provide. You could have just a handful of posts and generate thousands of visitors as long as your posts are of high quality
@@rankingacademy Thank you very much sir.
Hi rankking Academy can you give me a example of good website for local business?
www.implantcenterofmiami.com/ www.icedamremovalguys.com/
Bravo :)
Merci
Is it wrong to include testimonials from google and link to the actual review?
I don't believe linking to a specific review is possible
@@rankingacademy if you have trouble with that link, you can visit my website at motiveyes .com and scroll down to testimonials and click on link. I'll take any and all feedback on the website while you're there too :P
There is an awesome plugin I use on my site to do just that.
it's a free plugin for wordpress
Awesome
Many thanks Ray
How can we top the list of GMB
Just follow the instructions
Sir pls make me clear if any site has same pa da what it means pls explain
DA: Domain authority, means the strength of a website overall. PA: Page authority, means the strength of a particular page. Very often your DA is very close to the PA of your home page as most external links will be pointing to your home page anyway. Hope it makes sense
This obviously works for a service provider who comes so it’s customers. What about a stationery shop. In my case it’s a CarWash tunnel.
Work on your website authority which should increase your reach in Google
I would love to know how to add pictures/images in the meta title!
You can't add images in meta titles
Not really doorway page. Redirects are great tools for doorway pages. So the example used is not clearly doorway.
If you say so
Thanks for your reply. I have watch most of your videos and have seen how great your seo skills are. Please i wish to work with you as an seo intent, on voluntary bases not paid. I care to submit my seo knowledge to you as a superior for a while. Is this okay with you, please ????
Really? And what you think we were doing all this time?
You massively misunderstand how they created those pages, and how they are updated. Not saying its right, just saying they can be created in about 30 minutes.
Thanks Nathan. You can certainly churn out pages very quickly but since Google wants rich, in depth and quality content it is hard to believe you can achieve this in as little as 30 minutes. But if it works for you then that's great
The google is Grady now a days they will suspend your google map without any reason. which they did to me 3 times.
Sorry to hear Alex
Its complicated how to promote your service.
It's not really. You just need to spend a bit of time researching, that's all
bro dummy page is not working
Which dummy page?
This is low key the same thing except the unique content
You've lost me there George
Mass Page Builder can rebuild these pages in a few minutes. So, it's NOT a huge task.
Creating mass pages in minutes is the last thing I would recommend doing. You should create content for visitors and not search engines. Cookie cutter solutions are generally a very bad idea when it comes to SEO
You say don't create doorway pages, and then you give a tutorial on how to create doorway pages! duh!
Hi Jonathan , thanks for your comment. If you read up the definition of doorway pages you’ll find that what i recommend is anything BUT doorway pages.
