I randomly bumped into Towa today in Shoreditch. I wasn’t even sure it was her but I went up and hugged her anyway. She was the most welcoming and nicest person ever I felt star struck
I'm old. Still in lockdown. These videos are very much helping me get through this pandemic. Your style, phrasing, and intuitive progressions are a welcome distraction from my cabin fever. Long may it continue...
@@dougfa3515 Absurd? No, what's absurd is the people refusing to wear masks so that others, like myself, are not safe to leave the house. Their choice means I do not have one...
Different people go about it different ways. Some folks know almost no music theory and rely on patterns on the fretboard that they've learned go with this or that type of chord or progression. And then they do variations on those and string those together in various ways. Other people come at it from a music theory way, and think in terms of scales and what scales work over what chords and what scale modes you can use over different chords. And then they do variations on those and string those together in various ways. And you could obviously do a bit of both. The former is a bit easier in that you don't have to think as much, and hence why it's probably the choice more often with earthier music (blues, classic rock.) But of course it's also going to be a bit more limited a palette. The latter is harder and you have think more (generally, some folks eventually learn so much that it's not like that.) And, you are somewhat more likely to do music that sounds like you are thinking about it, instead of feeling it. This stuff is more common in jazz and fusion. Somewhere in the middle is usually best. You will also notice that even people who can improvise at blazing speed always have these little 'fallbacks licks' that they will use when they need a quick mental breather, while they think of something else. One of hers is that stacatto single note thing she does.
Listen to a lot of music so your ear get a better taste in patterns and melodies, and practice every day, this girl must have at least a couple thousand days of practice, 2 hours a day in 3 years makes a Hendrix trust me
@@3statgass3d Well, let's be fair, there was a lot of pot and acid involved as well. There are two things involved really: One is playing *constantly* so that by ten years into it you are so competent with your physical technique that you don't even have to think about it. Most anything you want to do, you can probably pull off (though not always, sometimes the brain still asks more of the fingers than they can deliver.) Then, in his case, a lot of mind altering substances to get you out of your head and into your gut. Then you play instinctively, but the many thousands of hours of playing (not just practicing in a room but playing live) means that wherever your instincts take you, you can probably go and survive to tell the tale. But you have to be really on it for that to work, and anyone who improvises a lot will have nights were it doesn't. But, mostly we never hear those. We only hear the ones where all the cylinders were firing. Hendrix had his share of those, and in those cases you pull it back and stick more to the tried and true. The problem of course with drugs to get there is that you always really want to get back there. Eventually, you get to a point where it's hard to get there without them, and you are kind of stuck. If you are a professional and you have to try to get there night after night, and feel obligated to 'be the legend' every night, that can be really bad.
Dean Roddey yeah I agree with you completely, he fell into a trap by using drugs to create music, it made great music but also took him away. so 10 years of playing and doing some acid makes you Jimi Hendrix
When I watch you perform I love it, you give me Jimi vibes the way you’re just connected with your instrument and the music and you’re also a Rager! Hah I’m envious of your guitar talent, I wish you the best going forth in your career and life from one awesome black musician to the next! P.S. I never seen anyone get so into the music when they perform in their bedroom it shows the passion you have for the music and that fancy’s me. I get just as excited when I’m on my midi or singing my songs in my bathroom just for my mom to get upset cus I’m in there so long 😅😂 I found you on Ig and I’m not really into social media artists because most of them don’t really seem passionate about the music but I can see the passion in you and I’m definitely a fan! Can’t wait for both of us music obsessive weirdos to make it out of our bedrooms. Patience is everything though. Wish you the best Towabird, you’re a inspiration (: Think I finally found a rival 😈😆
I know everyone says this but I love your style of playing, I’ve always wanted to pursue music but it’s been really discouraging trying to find a way to live off of a guitar but your videos have soul to them, it keeps me going 🙏
can you please do more arctic monkeys guitar covers such as 505 and When the Sun Goes Down? i was AMAZED by your r u mine cover and it was amazing. seeing my favorite songs getting covered by such talented people like you is making my quarantine SO MUCH BETTER. also this video... i just- i don't even know what to think about it. you are so talented and this video gave me chills. i really liked and I've been watching/listening it as if i was streaming a music video. you and the music you do is amazing, love you💜

I hope you are doing fine.
We're all in this together man! Wishing the best of times to come for you, peace and love be with you brotha!
Still in lockdown?! That's absurd. Sounds like prison.

@@Arthur_Foxache Sounds like you make your own prison. I wish you well, Arthur.
SHE FINALLY UPLOADED YAY
Must be an incredible feeling to be able to let loose and jam the hell out like that. Closest thing on Earth to flying in my opinion.
Ik that this is lowkey weird thing to say, but I'm so proud of this girl. Like fr, I love her sm, and I hope that she doesn't give up ♥️
UR SO GOOD AT EVERYTHING BYE
literally the coolest person on the planet
Her energy is everything. I love the passion :)
Why isn't every producer in the world blowing you up? You are outstanding.
All the instruments fits the whole, but every time it is the guitar that makes me dream away.
How do you get good at jamming? Whenever I try it sounds like a bunch of cats being attacked by an accordion.

Víctor Sánchez it doesn’t make you a Hendrix, you have to have a special kinda of creativity to be like him that can’t be trained
