I’m actually in awe of the Leuchtturm marketing team because they’ve managed to make a big deal of a common reality of standardised paper sizing. All ISO A6 paper is literally half of an A5 turned sideways. All they’ve done is ensured aligned grid dot.

A6 is half of A5 just as A5 is half an A4… it’s indeed a great marketing idea to align the grid because some of us (me!) will appreciate it 😅

The reason the pages only come in dot grid because it’s a mini version of the official leuchturm bullet journal by Ryder Carrol, which is dot grid. The other leuchturm journals and notebooks without the dot grid aren’t part of the bullet journal line. Nor is the jot book.

I’m using these since May. I love that it opens to full a5 page because I can’t fit anything into a6. It fits into women’s jeans pocket! - most of the time… depending on the jeans 😅
It’s really nice quality. No wear and tear and I’m tossing it around all the time.
I forgot to mention that I add a closure band on it, because it was driving me crazy that it didn’t have any.

Oooh - how have I missed these? I’m an A6 girlie (have been for years) - I carry my journal everywhere and A6 fits perfectly in my Sashbag. I use them as my one book. If they use Tomoe River paper they could cram more pages in one book and I love the crinkle of the TRP!!!

Goulet Pens sells their own pocket size ( Field Notes size) notebook with Tomoe River paper that’s much better for fountain pen and about $5 / notebook. Get a gold sharpie and draw the lightning bolt on the cover … 🙄

I see the Pocket has my rapid logger and my main (Currently: Bullet Journal Stealth Edition) as my daily & monthly log.
I might fit in the Field Notes (Black, dotted layout) as something else but unsure.

I quite love this idea, to be honest! Easily fits in a belt bag, toss in a pen and you're good to go. For me, I'd kind of use it as an on-the-go bujo to track things that I want to add to my actual bujo when I get home!

never occurred to me that I should try placing my pocket notebook on it's side for a larger "page." Simple, genius, and a great gimmick for Bullet Journal to adopt.

A6 is a standard size in Europe and most of our paper's quite good. So no wonder these haven't taken off here. But I'll admit, I like their style and who am I to say no to more stationary?😂

Currently, I use Field Notes and have a wonderful leather cover that allows me to easily carry my Field Notes along with my cards, money and pen in my back pocket. It's essentially my wallet with a pocket notebook! I ordered these BuJo Pocket notebooks and they are SO nice. I like everything about them. The quality, the smart grid, the size for writing and the covers. Only problem, I cannot find leather cover that will fit these as they are wider than a Field Notes and other pocket notebooks. I've tried several. The BuJo pocket notebook by itself easily fits in my back pocket, but any cover that comes close to fitting this notebook makes it too large for the back pocket. As much as I love these BuJo pocket notebooks, not having a cover to use as a wallet it a deal breaker. Great review though. I may still use these as small dedicated pocket notebooks, just not as my EDC.

I am a fan of A6 and B6 notebooks - especially with a lot of pages, so Nanami Seven Seas and Stalogy are the type of books I prefer. Fieldnotes are amazing, and I like the softcover Moleskine. The Pocket looks nice, but I was taken aback by the approach to the marketing for this one, and my view on it is rather negative. The BulletJournal Pocket just stood out as very gimmicky to me because of the hype around the size. Yes, it’s A6… it’s supposed to be half of an A5 that’s what it is. It honestly only has the specific dotted indicators and numbered pages going for it. Yet page numbers on a 45-page book seems illogical to me. Numbering those pages yourself takes less than 5 min, and doesn’t seem worth it, compared to their other notebooks that have more numbered pages.
And it is very expensive for what it offers, with inferior paper compared to the the books in the LT line or even the A5 bullet journal. It doesn’t really feel like a competitor, it seems like another book that’s meant for a specific target audience and it succeeds at that.

Consider me confused. Do those really have 46 (A6) *pages* (= 23 sheets), or do they have 46 A5 "pages" (= two-A6-page spreads)? Leuchtturm seems to call the latter "pages" in this case (which would result in 92 A6 pages). At least that's what some information on their website seems to indicate (there seems to be a mention of a whole month of two-page spreads in one journal). Honestly, 23 A6 sheets would be a bit ridiculous.

It’s also A6 but not as wide” - then it’s not A6. The system works like this: A0 is the largest, A1 is half of an A0, A2 is half an A1, and so forth. An A6 has to be half the size of an A5, if it’s narrower then it’s a different system.
Now, is this a gimmick? Yes, the same way the A5 BuJo-specific notebook also is. I do bullet journaling and don’t have to buy the specific Leuchturm 1917 notebook to practice it, all I need is paper!

But the brand is European. A6 is a standard size here ‘pocket’ isn’t. And the point is that when it opens up it’s the same size as their normal bullet journals so you feel at home using it.

@@SylviaWithAPlan it’s really such a simple concept, and it’s like we just never thought about it. lol. But, my mind is racing. I recently bought the Pen + Gear monthly planners from WM. Each little pocket size book has a page per day facing a lined page. I use the mini composition books behind it in my TN, for a perpetual calendar and for affirmations. I could get a dot grid to carry with my month, and turn it sideways for plenty of room for an annual calendar, tracking, notes, etc…in one book (and eliminate the mini composition books)! I’ve cut down lined notebooks to fit different sized covers, but never thought about dot grid or graph paper, cut down and turned to the side. My mind is racing with ideas!!
