    Nice video--very helpful. One thing I've found useful is to use an extra 1/4-1/2 quart of oil to flush the old stuff out that doesn't drain on its own. I just pour in a little bit of fresh oil while the plug is still out--maybe count to three or four, and then stop. Then put the plug in. You'd be surprised what that little bit of fresh oil will flush out of there!

    how about the air filter right above the oil filter? Is that hard to change and or clean? Thanks

    Page 99 and 100 of the owners manual regarding changing the oil filter states the following: "With the outboard in water or cooling flush hose connected, idle engine for 5 minutes to check for leaks at the oil filter" here is the link to the on-line manual

    My motor is Verado 225 from 2015. Now it has around 1000 work hours.
    On 100 hours motor spends 1,5 liters of oil, is that normal? Thanks

    @APXsniper Between the gear lube and oil once a year it should be $100 or less if you do it yourself. 7 quarts of Verado oil, filter and gear lube. Certainly cheaper than buying 2 stroke oil, especially if you put a lot of hours on per year. I change gear lube mid season and before winter. You don't want any water in the gear lube before you store, especially in cold climates.

      There's a good stream of water shooting out from the impellar; as long as that's the case you're fine.

    you cant run the outbord engine on that hols that is a wash down hols for the engine

    • @BornAgainBoating
      @BornAgainBoating 6 років тому

      Sure you can! It doesn't hurt anything. There is water getting down to the impeller so it won't burn up. You definitely don't want to be revving the engine up on the hose though. That can burn up the impeller!
