This is from the first Parents & Family day after a few months of basic training. When we visited when my son was going through his training, it was an amazing experience, the first time we saw our boys was when we were lead into the gym after a tour of the facilities. They all came in and I was hard to recognise him as his hair was gone and muscles were bulging, they all wore the same, looked the same from the difference. That was a great day, worth the travel down, the passing out at the end if the training was even better. Very proud he achieved his Green beret and served in the RM until recently, now still part of the RMR.
Over 30 ,years since I went through this stuff. Very basic phys ed but it's a good way of building up your core strength and co-ordination. Hated our PTI but he was a good egg once we completed our training. Just doing his job I suppose. Good effort gents but it gets a lot more difficult as you go through training. 32 weeks these days as apposed to 30weeks in my day
Marines are still soldiers first and foremost i hope all of these recruits pass out of training and do our country proud unlike me who wrapped at week 20, i decided it wasnt for me but i still miss it
Self discipline, a word in the ear, young recruits wanting to earn a word of praise from the staff or at least not a telling off. You are a paid professional warrior, a volunteer, excellence is the minimum standard. All marines that passed before you met the standard.
@sepiasilence What Sepiasilence is saying is absolutely correct. If you're only doing 4 miles, you need to start running longer distances, if you're only "jogging", you need to start running faster.
@brendanbutterworth Yes but they wouldn't be chasing the enemy in their PT clothing, that's just for the gym really. When they're up against the enemy they would be fully suited and booted in camo.
@saintdono321 hahaha before i joined i was doing 9 mile runs nearly every day i was doing boxing MMA or thai boxing everyday aswell nothing can prepare you for this iv seen lads alot fitter than me drop out being fit is only about 30% of the training
@brendanbutterworth I reckon you're probably quite creative. Do some drawings of what you would like to see and present them to the nice man at the front of the class.
@brendanbutterworth The real training for any aspect of the Army is mental rather than physical, all the way through from 'basic' to RMAS and spec.ops. You can build up nearly anyone to be strong physically but not mentally. This is why e.g. even for basic infantry training they deliberately set the initial physical requirements quite low BUT the selection process is designed to show mental fortitude, and THIS is what decides whether you are accepted or not.
Dude if you are you are going to need some serious fitness let me warn of the 30 mile route march you have to do with full gear on and you have 8 hours to do it including breaks
@saintdono321 You have no idea what you are letting yourself in for. This is just a test of discipline. later on in training it gets fucking hard, plus you do shit loads of phys outside the gym, beastings, thrashings etc. Plus you will be sleep deprived. Have fun haha
This is why Bootnecks are so good at pulling the Ladies, we get dancing lessond as part of our training. You poor Pongo's have no chance LOL check out rmaneb.com Steve EX RM

I know an ex Royal Marine and he says this repetitive gym work is actually more tiring than the real military training they did in the field.
That's just the warm-up !!!
that moment when i realize that i started watching some kitten videos and ended up watching marine training videos :D
Marines are still soldiers first and foremost

Its the corps version of Swedish PT. It has worked for over 100 years and still works today.
This is it, gentlemen the marines. You know unlike the US marines with all yelling and shit like that.

@sepiasilence

may look pathetic or silly, but what's not shown on this video is the hardcore training that these lads under go!
Uniformity at its very best 👍

i'm getting tired just watching them never mind doing it :)
@jozeaphe whats general issue now? i wasn't aware they had changed
it's like training a group of clones
@mirageF1AZ why are you asking youtube? you need to phone an army careers office in the UK to see if the army is right for you.
The whole humankind should learn discipline from them.
Did you ever find that loose screw?
@brendanbutterworth I reckon you're probably quite creative. Do some drawings of what you would like to see and present them to the nice man at the front of the class.

How is your training going? :)
You in the marines yet?
How'd it go
This is just a warm up and it's a bit more tiring than it looks, even for RM recruits.

@chappyhardcore royal marines are navy
Whats the first exercise chaps?

Have you done this?
Machines
@mirageF1AZ yeah i suppose
@vxphsycoxv A Marine is a type of soldier so technically he was correct.

Dude if you are you are going to need some serious fitness let me warn of the 30 mile route march you have to do with full gear on and you have 8 hours to do it including breaks
