    What I love about this video is that almost the whole thing is focused on the animals. Too many show videos spend more time on the UA-camr saying hi to friends than they do to the animals. That's nice and all, but it's now what I watch reptile videos for.

    It’s sucks that the market crashed but it happens every once in a while I hope we’re still going down in the market though I love how cheap everything is and really want to buy a few more pets before it goes back up 😅sad for the breeders though😢

    I just wanted to say that I'm super stoked about seeing a rising person with primarily garg content on youtube! I'm only in highschool, but I've been keeping gargs for around three years now, and I've slowly built my collection up to five. Hope to start breeding in the next few years, and also hope you keep up the amazing gargoyle gecko content!

    I personally think those animals are amazing but due to the confusion of it being called a hypo I would much rather them name them blizzards and het blizzards since we already have hypos in crested gecko.

    • @geckocove

      I'm no expert on crested geckos so I'm not sure what the difference is but I can see your point. It was almost translucent looking in person.

    • @xdragonxmasterx6790
      @xdragonxmasterx6790 10 місяців тому

      @@geckocove if we break down the morph scientifically/genetically instead of morph marketing this is considered a form of leucism. Leopard geckos had a similar problem with blizzards and Murphys patternless where both morphs are considered leucistic animals but genetically were different albeit similar morphs and genes in play and just saying this is a leucistic gecko could mean either it was a blizzard or Murphys patternless. As far I I know genetically the super cappuccino and this new blizzard/Genetic hypo are a type leucistic morph( lack of all pigment). Hypo (hypomelanism) is not a complete lack of pigment is some lack of some melanin or black pigment but not enough to make a gecko an albino or translucent. Hypos are genetically are lighter/brighter colored animals from their original brown counterparts some hypo some show purple/gray hues that result in them also being called lavenders.

      I would say six stripes and super blotch geckos are very desirable. Some geckos have such high coverage that it’s covering part of the head, like eyebrows or nose ridges. See my latest short. I wanted to get a gargoyle, but the more I studied getting a reptile the more cresties grew on me. I just looove em lol. I wanted a chewie, too, but then I saw the prices, yikes. The look of chewies is just insane though, imo. They are one of the most sleek cryptic apex predator looking reptiles out there. The New Cal geckos are the best on the planet.

      I agree. I also have trouble trusting that company right now. They sent me a gecko that wasn’t even 2g yet. That is WAY to young. I’m now hand feeding it and almost got it to 3g now. It wasn’t even semi established. I have also tried to order another gecko from them, they messaged me back saying that they can’t find it and offered me another…I appreciate them for offering another and he’s very cute…however, you need to keep track of your stock. Ones in my possession are still being listed as for sale.
      Before I got my last one, I asked about another they were selling. Since they didn’t produce it, they gave me the name of who did. I found that person on FB and asked about the gecko. The breeder stated that this isn’t the gecko that they traded with and that he apparently has his paperwork mixed up.
      Soo..I’m watching them…but given the multiple errors Ive experienced with them, I’m choosing to be cautions about the “super hypo” crestie.

    You asked if the market is tanking or going back up. First, I do not know. Second, I am certainly going to guess. Third; not tanking but maybe taking a dip. What stood out to me in this video was the number of ADULTS being sold. While many of the eggs have not yet hatched and bringing adults to have something for the show may account for some of this; the breeders seem to certainly think the market is dropping. Meaning, from this minimal observation, breeders are unloading adults either because they think the market is dropping (not tanking by any means) or unloading many adults will cause the market to drop because more people will be producing babies sooner rather than later. This is my 0.02$ and should not be considered an expert opinion at all. If you disagree, great, I am all for it

    • @geckocove
      @geckocove  10 місяців тому

      I appreciate your 2 cents. I hope it’s just an economic valley and not a crash but at some point they may be one in the same. Love your observation on adult geckos. I think the recovery depends on the overall economy since this is just a hobby for most people.

    • @MeditativeState247

      I mean you can tell simply by looking at the UA-cam videos for geckos. About a year ago I was able to watch new videos every week about people getting new geckos whether it was for keeping or breeding purposes. Now only 9 months later I only keep coming across the older videos, so that alone tells me quarantine definitely hyped things up but I wouldn’t say it dropped or it’s crashing, more like this is the new normal flow of things. Since quarantine most keepers have become breeders now so it’s kind of just the new reality, there’s not much of a market when everyone is trying to sell geckos to each other. The keeper aspect of it is kind of fading away if you ask me. It’s all about the money and receiving attention because your new gecko is from a nationwide famous Breeder. We should make more gecko keeping content instead of breeding to keep people interested in the heart of the hobby not just the business.

      I think that gargs are, on average, calmer. It really depends on the individaul. Give your new gecko time to settle in before judging it as well. They can be a little spooked out after shipping.
