Years ago while watching Jason build his first home I made a comment that I thought Jason couldnt build shit but he was proving me wrong, Jason thought it was the best comment he had received so far. Years later, look at him now, there is nothing this young man cant do. So much respect for you Jason.

If you are looking for cheap residential solar panels the San Tan Solar is what I have used for years. Last purchase was 8 340 watt panels for $100 each plus $270 shipping from Arizona to Idaho.

This was a good video. I remember when I just figured out how to wire solar and batteries. And I made a little system. I must have watched the volt meter or watt meter for weeks. Like the absolute coolest thing ever. And the fact it was actually free power was amazing. I hope other people get to experience that. It's a good feeling. Good video again, you're a great producer.

With the panels, you need to check what the max input the Bluetti can take in volts & amps. Typical panels these days are about 450watts each, and they'll cost WAY less than the Bluetti ones too, probably 1/6th of the cost!

It's not easy to install a solar system all by yourself. Luckily, my husband is an electrician like Josh from Wild Wonderful Off Grid. You did a great job Jason! I've been following you since your tent days. You are truly a doer!
A solar array was the first thing we set up here on our rural property in an unfinished cottage. We had the right thought that it was going to be very expensive because of the world economy and inflation. More and more people are buying it to become more independent. The situation in the EU and the energy crisis, which is talked about since the boycott, can get worse.

Solar power will only go more mainstream the easier it is to install. People like convenience and simplicity. We all want clean energy as it protects against grid power failure and potential grid power collapse. Companies like Bluetti, Jackery and Projectsolar are closing the gap in affordability and easy to install kits. Plug-and-play is the future of clean energy

Do they run solar just to power some fans for animals? Remember they have no electric from the power company. Myself i wouldn't do the expense of solar for fans on animals. Most farm animals do fine in the high heat as long as they get enough water.

  • @dper1112
    @dper1112 Рік тому +1

All of your appliances say the wattage on the back. If you're wondering about a microwave or toaster oven, just read the sticker on it. As for window AC units, let's suppose yours uses 1000W. It could be 1200W, whatever. Just make sure that your solar panels are higher wattage in total, so that you can cool the house and charge your batteries at the same time. Finally, keep your solar panel wires as short as possible. DC wiring has significant transmission loss over distance, so shorter thicker cables are much better than longer thinner ones.

I use RQST panels and they work great. They use the MC4 connectors for a quick but secure connection. I’m not sure for your location but where I live we point the panels to the South and tilt them at about 33 degrees for the best sun.
I power my whole finished basement and shop lights with just 3 of them and way less battery capacity than you have.

Also, look at San Tan Solar out of the Phoenix area. They sell used panels at very low prices. This allows you to create very large solar arrays at a low cost. This gives you redundancy and Solar array backup. You can place them on frames on the ground.
Also look at Missouri Wind and Solar for wind production of electricity. This gives you possible electrical production at night or on cloudy days.
The Will Prouse suggestion was an excellent idea,

You’ve probably already fixed it, but just to say you don’t need an adapter for the third portable panel. The input voltage on the charge controller for the ac500 is 150v and 15a. So you can just connect the positive terminals to negative terminals of each panel to connect 3 in series. I’m imagining you connected the two in parallel which is doubling the amps. On a 400w panel the Amps are probably around 10/11a, which is why you’re not seeing good results on the input and you’re clipping 50% of the second panels amps. If you connect all 3 in series you should get good results.

If you plan on using the toaster oven it would be a good idea to move it away from the wall as it will in time scorch your wall.

I guess Will Prowse and Andys Offgrid Garage Wohls be the most useful channels for solar. Since me beeing from germany I Gould usw a lot oft Tipps from Thema but also needed to stick with the german laws/rules.
    I build a 24V offgrid system with just 2 410 Watt panels from JaSolar and a DIY LiFePo Battery + a 2000 Watt 24V to 230 V Konverter PureSine
You need to think about Winter time, Ehen there is not that much sun available

You should put a cut-off switch on the Microwave. If you are not using it all the time or using the toaster over all the time and put both of them on a cut-off switch you could save some of that power for other things like charging your power tool batteries! This is just as suggestion for you guys! Plus it would save you money on running the generator all the time too!

The optimal temperature for solar panels is around 77°F. Solar panels perform best under moderate temperatures, as higher or lower temperatures can reduce efficiency. For every degree above 25°C, a solar panel's output can decrease by around 0.3% to 0.5%, affecting overall energy production.
