Years ago while watching Jason build his first home I made a comment that I thought Jason couldnt build shit but he was proving me wrong, Jason thought it was the best comment he had received so far. Years later, look at him now, there is nothing this young man cant do. So much respect for you Jason.
Great video Jason. Love the angle of certain parts of the filming and different areas around the Ranch and the animals running to you when you were pulling in. Good job 🥰❤️
If you are looking for cheap residential solar panels the San Tan Solar is what I have used for years. Last purchase was 8 340 watt panels for $100 each plus $270 shipping from Arizona to Idaho.
This was a good video. I remember when I just figured out how to wire solar and batteries. And I made a little system. I must have watched the volt meter or watt meter for weeks. Like the absolute coolest thing ever. And the fact it was actually free power was amazing. I hope other people get to experience that. It's a good feeling. Good video again, you're a great producer.
Glad to see that you are sponsored by Bluetti. For the tiny house look into using 12v RV appliances powered by your solar. They make 12v refrigerators that are almost full residential size.
Thank you for your comment! The Segway Portable PowerStation Cube Series is another great option for powering your tiny house or RV. With its massive capacity, fast recharging, and versatile sockets, it's definitely worth considering. Plus, the waterproof technology and comprehensive protections make it ideal for outdoor adventures. Check it out if you're looking for reliable power on the go!
Will Prowse UA-cam channel is imo the easiest, least expensive, and extensive solar channel to watch and learn. He literally covers any and all types and topics of solar. You're off to a great start! BTW, how does Bluetti pronounce their name..lol 😂😅Love ya'll ❤
All of this! Will is amazing and I mentioned him in a comment when you had started talking about doing solar. I based my entire system off his knowledge.
Hi buddy how you doing how's Danielle did Daniel make it back yet we still miss her but the hope she's doing okay hope you're doing okay take it easy buddy keep up the good work I'm proud of you and her to God bless you guys
Hey Jason it's great that you guys was able to get all you needed to have the whole tiny house & I am like you when it comes to that solar crap glad to see all the animals are fine GB stay safe y'all
Wow ,congratulations Jason and Danielle Crocker I remember even out to the tiny house you never had AC you would have to jump kn the truck..and if you did at all it was short lived..so happy for you two huge game changer..love it
With the panels, you need to check what the max input the Bluetti can take in volts & amps. Typical panels these days are about 450watts each, and they'll cost WAY less than the Bluetti ones too, probably 1/6th of the cost!
Jason I too like a little coffee with my creamer..ive been drinking ryze it's a organic coffee with 6 different mushrooms delicious. Just wanted to say you have a beautiful setup and its well deserved I've watched you from before the tent days always a hard working young man
Well let me put it to you this way. Get you a couple glass of plastic solar or greenhouse plastic from home depot. Put you a Box around it that is weathertight leave him facing the sun. And you got the best deal that you could ever have
I just love your video work!! Love seeing all those animals running for breakfast!! Solar power will be awesome. It willl be so quiet out there!!! Thanks for sharing!! 😊❤
It's not easy to install a solar system all by yourself. Luckily, my husband is an electrician like Josh from Wild Wonderful Off Grid. You did a great job Jason! I've been following you since your tent days. You are truly a doer! A solar array was the first thing we set up here on our rural property in an unfinished cottage. We had the right thought that it was going to be very expensive because of the world economy and inflation. More and more people are buying it to become more independent. The situation in the EU and the energy crisis, which is talked about since the boycott, can get worse.
Thank you for sharing your experience with solar power installation! It's definitely not an easy task, and having an electrician on hand can be a huge help. I appreciate the support for the UA-camr, Jason, and his DIY skills. By the way, have you heard about the Segway Portable PowerStation Cube Series? It's a versatile and powerful backup power solution that can come in handy during outdoor adventures or as a home backup. Check it out if you're interested! Happy camping and stay powered up!
Wow... that's awesome. I've saw this bluetti and started to search info, so thanks for your video I could see that I can use an AC for all night if I have the right investment and don't pay more for public energy. Congrats for the video.
I love how the animals run to you for feeding and treats. Glad to see your solar going up. It will give you so much more convince for now and in future. Hugs from San Antonio, TX.
Honestly I would reach out to Josh from Wild Wonderful Off Grid, Guildbrooke Farm, or Al from Lumnah Acres for all your solar questions. They all have done a DIY array to power their off grid homes fully and they have done it for years and probably have a good idea of what worked for them and what they would change or do differently
Solar power will only go more mainstream the easier it is to install. People like convenience and simplicity. We all want clean energy as it protects against grid power failure and potential grid power collapse. Companies like Bluetti, Jackery and Projectsolar are closing the gap in affordability and easy to install kits. Plug-and-play is the future of clean energy
Hey jason . Also Danielle Lol I love to see the animal videos I grow up as a kid in puerto rico with lot of animal. I am happy everything is coming together at SDR . Solar is a big win . Keep strong bro .
Wow, the Segway Portable PowerStation Cube Series sounds like an amazing product! With its massive capacity, fast recharging, and versatile sockets, it would be perfect for outdoor camping and ensuring uninterrupted power supply for your devices. Plus, its waterproof technology makes it reliable in any weather. Definitely a great addition to any outdoor enthusiast's gear collection!
Thanks for your comment! I completely agree with you. The Segway Portable PowerStation Cube Series is indeed an amazing product with its massive capacity and fast recharging. It's perfect for outdoor camping and ensuring uninterrupted power supply for your devices. Plus, its waterproof technology makes it reliable in any weather. Definitely a great addition to any outdoor enthusiast's gear collection!
In Elk City, we had these huge fans that the mechanics used at the JD dealership.. I think the animals would love added air in the barn .. idk 🤷♀️ but you don’t have trees to shade your barn.. call your parents because in the end that is all we have kiddos.. hugs .. ❤
Do they run solar just to power some fans for animals? Remember they have no electric from the power company. Myself i wouldn't do the expense of solar for fans on animals. Most farm animals do fine in the high heat as long as they get enough water.
All of your appliances say the wattage on the back. If you're wondering about a microwave or toaster oven, just read the sticker on it. As for window AC units, let's suppose yours uses 1000W. It could be 1200W, whatever. Just make sure that your solar panels are higher wattage in total, so that you can cool the house and charge your batteries at the same time. Finally, keep your solar panel wires as short as possible. DC wiring has significant transmission loss over distance, so shorter thicker cables are much better than longer thinner ones.
I use RQST panels and they work great. They use the MC4 connectors for a quick but secure connection. I’m not sure for your location but where I live we point the panels to the South and tilt them at about 33 degrees for the best sun. I power my whole finished basement and shop lights with just 3 of them and way less battery capacity than you have.
Looks like a good system. What ya save on gas for regular gens will make it pay for itself in no time. I watch a sawmill channel, I think it's those that he uses and he has put them through and they perform great! So you wont regret it at all. He stumps for them too. Ill make sure it is same brand when I watch his next one that has them in it but I think it is.
Jason, I am so happy for you and Danielle that things are working out for you as planned. It’s nice to see that you have electricity, water and other resources/supplies to help you live comfortably. Until next time.
You are doing well my little whipper snappers. Your young and have a lot of energy. It is fun for this older lady to see how you two are coming along with your dream.
That’s pretty cool that you and Danielle now have solar to keep your air conditioner running your fridge raider running your toaster, your microwave, your coffee, your lights
Each line of the solar input can handle up to 150 volts. So you should hook up the 3 panels in series to one of the solar inputs and get another 3 panels in series to the other solar input. Then you should have about 2000 watts or more of solar coming in.
6/24/23: 🙋🤣The animals are so GREAT love seeing you coming for morning feeding....The Cow 🐮 cracks me up and blonde Lab loves all the Animals...makes you feel GOOD, when they come running for you🤗. Thanks for showing us Portable Solar Power, I love Solar.. Patty Sue, Maryland
Ich habe bis jetzt gewartet, war mir nicht sicher, welches System ich kaufen werde. Bitte testet es weiter und gebt ab und zu einen Zwischenbericht zu bluetti ab, denn es scheint mir das Beste zu sein. Danke Euch
FYI: It's called "Blue-Etty" not Blue-T. I agree, I love me some coffee with my creamer. I wouldn't drink coffee without creamer. The shed to house is looking real nice. The bedroom looks nice and so does the bathroom. I hope the solar works for you.
Also, look at San Tan Solar out of the Phoenix area. They sell used panels at very low prices. This allows you to create very large solar arrays at a low cost. This gives you redundancy and Solar array backup. You can place them on frames on the ground. Also look at Missouri Wind and Solar for wind production of electricity. This gives you possible electrical production at night or on cloudy days. The Will Prouse suggestion was an excellent idea, too.
Green Acre Homestead has quite a few really good solar videos and Sam does a really good job at breaking everything down and showing how it goes together.
Please do a detailed video of when you install your RV 30AMP power box for your generator. I just got the Anker 767 powerhouse and it’s a beast but I can’t seem to figure out how to wire this 30AMP box to my breaker correctly.
That's a fantastic video on solar generators! I highly recommend checking out the Segway Portable PowerStation Cube Series. It's a versatile powerhouse with a massive capacity and fast recharging time. Plus, it's waterproof and comes with comprehensive protections. Perfect for outdoor camping or as a home backup power solution. Don't miss out on this amazing product!
That's the brand I plan on buying. In Northern Michigan. Adding a propane gen to compensate on cloudy days to aid recharge and harsh winters.. not goingvto pay utility companys out rages rising rates the rest of my life
You’ve probably already fixed it, but just to say you don’t need an adapter for the third portable panel. The input voltage on the charge controller for the ac500 is 150v and 15a. So you can just connect the positive terminals to negative terminals of each panel to connect 3 in series. I’m imagining you connected the two in parallel which is doubling the amps. On a 400w panel the Amps are probably around 10/11a, which is why you’re not seeing good results on the input and you’re clipping 50% of the second panels amps. If you connect all 3 in series you should get good results.
I guess Will Prowse and Andys Offgrid Garage Wohls be the most useful channels for solar. Since me beeing from germany I Gould usw a lot oft Tipps from Thema but also needed to stick with the german laws/rules. I build a 24V offgrid system with just 2 410 Watt panels from JaSolar and a DIY LiFePo Battery + a 2000 Watt 24V to 230 V Konverter PureSine You need to think about Winter time, Ehen there is not that much sun available
You should put a cut-off switch on the Microwave. If you are not using it all the time or using the toaster over all the time and put both of them on a cut-off switch you could save some of that power for other things like charging your power tool batteries! This is just as suggestion for you guys! Plus it would save you money on running the generator all the time too!
The optimal temperature for solar panels is around 77°F. Solar panels perform best under moderate temperatures, as higher or lower temperatures can reduce efficiency. For every degree above 25°C, a solar panel's output can decrease by around 0.3% to 0.5%, affecting overall energy production.

You should look at signature solar and get older field panels for less the $100 in packs!
So happy for you and Danielle. It’s been a long time come.😊❤❤
Jason you're seriously one of the best video producers on UA-cam. This one is certainly proof of that. Well done brother.
Thank you so much for the compliment. I don't think I'm the best, but I do have some video experience under my belt
@@TheCrockers I'm particularly fond of Coffee With The Crockers . Nowhere near as well produced but the content always leaves a grin on my face. 😁👍

Use a couple sheets of plywood and make a solar platform to hold solar panels flat

Hey, here’s a video about solar panels. But let me rabbit hole for a second and talk about how much I love creamer in my coffee.
That's so awesome.
Huge love ❤️ from Canada.

Listen to what he says ... Blue-T
@TheCrockers dude thanks 4 that. I laughed when you said blue t cause i too always thought it was pronounced blue etty ❤
Excellent, soon we'll be able to power whole houses
Don't put them on your roof , put them on a rack on your ground , easier to maintain amigo ! 👍
The Will Prouse suggestion was an excellent idea,
too.
Buying used panels may be cheaper but they have been replaced because they are not working near as well.
Jason I believe the longer the wire the lesast power you get, it looses power the longer the cord.
Green Acre Homestead has quite a few really good solar videos and Sam does a really good job at breaking everything down and showing how it goes together.
if you got a plug for 50/30 amp plug you would have more amps for your house panel Will Prose good resource on the tube
So glad you have your solar up and running!❤🌞
Good Job
Love learning when you learn, thanks, that what I said to Corey and Cynthia when they moved on the 🏔️
Sooooo awesome...congrats you two
Please do a detailed video of when you install your RV 30AMP power box for your generator. I just got the Anker 767 powerhouse and it’s a beast but I can’t seem to figure out how to wire this 30AMP box to my breaker correctly.
You should get that Mini Split hooked up!

Dp you have a video showing how to wire generator to panel box
MBF - Modern Homesteading also is using that Bluetti system, and Jeremy is kind of a techy guy, so could be of some help if you have questions.
You’ve probably already fixed it, but just to say you don’t need an adapter for the third portable panel. The input voltage on the charge controller for the ac500 is 150v and 15a. If you plan on using the toaster oven it would be a good idea to move it away from the wall as it will in time scorch your wall.

Solar is awesome
Good video. Very interesting and helpful
Nice setup! 👍😎❤️
Look at Martin Johnson and Country View acres. They both set up great solar systems
It looks cool, just to many cords , I know once it is hooked up right the cords won’t be there. I hope it works out for y’all
You should put a cut-off switch on the Microwave. If you are not using it all the time or using the toaster over all the time and put both of them on a cut-off switch you could save some of that power for other things like charging your power tool batteries!
