    HI Becky,Love this recipe..so easy.I have a Tip for ya'll: To keep the plastic wrap roll from coming out of the box---look at the ends of the box and you should notice little half-circles. Just poke them into the box. They will hold the roll in but still allow it to turn. I went for years without knowing this fact...felt dumb when I did learn about it. This also applies to rolls of wax paper, aluminum foil, etc. NOTE: some of the cheaper brands don't have these half-circles but most do.Happy "unrolling". ; -)

    FIRST time a success. I used the insert to my crock pot becauseI do not have a dutch oven. My lid had plastic handle so I used aluminum foil.
    Thanks Becky

    Actually, if anyone is interested, the cheapest way to purchase yeast is Sam's club (or possibly a restaurant supply store). They have a two pack,containing a pound each, which lasts me a full year, for only about $4.00. those envelopes are about $1.00-1.50, and only have a tablespoon per pack (so about 3 tablespoons for $1.00) The opened packs of the bulk keep well in a closed container in the fridge, which is convenient if you bake bread or pizza regularly.
    Thanks for the show! Love it!

    It's been a God send to me, Becky. I'm allergic to corn and nuts (acquired after exposure to a chemical) and it's getting harder and harder to find commercial bread I can eat. Love this bread! Thank you💕

    Becky, I tried sourdough with starter. I baked several times and was not successful.
    It seemed like I was forever up to my neck in dough, kneading, waiting etc. The starter
    was a chore...however, I am saving it and using it for your recipe. I'll post again and let you know how it turns out. I love the idea of the cast-iron dutch oven and have a bigger one that I am using. Thanks a lot! Talk later. Sally

    Cheapest way to get yeast is to buy the one pound bags on Amazon. I got 2 one pound bags for less than $8.00. Keep it in the freezer and it lasts a long time & works great.

      my grandma had a measuring cup for liquid and dry ingredients. maybe she has the same. milk on one side, flour on the other. ;) not that granny ever used such 'fancy' things for measuring anything, she did it by the eye or handful or spoonful and never failed.

    Worst looking ciabatta bread ever ... look at other vids from mixer to no knead recipes and the bread doesn't look like that when cut open.

    • @lindabarnes1585
      @lindabarnes1585 9 років тому

      Fresh, newly baked bread still steaming hot looks just like that no matter what recipe you use. If you let the bread cool, the cells in the bread are set, and the bread does not look so doughy.

    • @chanjcm
      @chanjcm 7 років тому

      Linda Barnes - that's not true... a proper ciabatta or a rustic sourdough bread, even right out of the oven, wouldn't look like that.
