Guitar tech-ing for LOATHE!!? | My first time ever on tour

  • This summer I was offered the insane opportunity to tour with Loathe across europe as their guitar tech! And with it being my first time ever on tour, I wanted to document this experience.
Also apologies for the sudden drop in quality. I have just moved houses and the space I'm filming in is quite awkwardly shaped so I've had to use a camera with a significantly worse lens. Hopefully I will be getting a way better lens soon.

It's great to hear you say "we" and not "they" when referring to the band. A lot of the techs and front of house etc don't get the appreciation they deserve to get the show going. Keep doing what you're doing dude! love to see it.

Absolutely wild seeing you pull out that strat at the end! I remember that one distinctly from when Loathe toured the US last winter and I saw them in FL, Erik pulled that one out for Screaming and it's such a distinct tone and vibe that it really made the song special live. What a stand up guy letting you take it home! Erik and the rest of the Loathe crew are some of the nicest dudes working today and I'm glad that you got to participate in such a once in a lifetime opportunity!

Dont feel bad for that Wembley thing, the same thing happened to Erik when Loathe played in Silver Spring, MD (I was there and it was really unfortunate, I was there for Loathe and Periphery) They only half played Gored, the guitar never actually came to life, same issue happened on Phily on december 2022, it looks like Hiwatt has some issues, i dont know. Great video.

As a sound guy, primarily in corporate world moreso than for bands, although I would love to do more band stuff, just have made more connections in that side of the industry over the years. Anyways, the thing I learned quickly is that you have to roll with the punches and not freak out when there's an issue. A lot can and will go wrong and it will never seem to be the same issue everytime, but over time those experiences really shape your ability to troubleshoot and just makes everything easier in the long run
