In this video Paul shows you how to tape a calf if you got a niggle or pain.
    1) Shows you how to protect skin with hypoallergenic underlay (Fixomull)
    2) How to get pressure over the area to support the tender area
    3) Options for overlay with EAB (Elastic Adhesive Bandage - usually not necessary for running but could look at options for other sports like football etc.)
Warning: Remember with calf pain, if the area was ever puffy, swollen, warm, red or hot you would get it checked by doctor immediately.
    Hope this helps!

What a load of rubbish. You need to get into the gastroc/soleus muscle/achilles tendon by massaging with a ball.

I don't think it's rubbish. I've had frequent calf strains recently while trying to transition to barefoot-like shoes, and I've found that taping does alleviate the pain when I'm walking. That surprised me, too, because taping seems like such a superficial treatment. I'm also trying daily cross-friction massage, to see if that helps, but I'm still undecided about that.
