this was my first time following a grand tour, and it was absolutely exhilerating! great commentary, and really well put together highlight as well to relive everything! pogacar was unbelievable, but so many of the other riders as well! kudos to everyone involved, and now i cannot wait for the tour de france!
Well Merlier was my main pick and everybody was a Milan fan saying he's the best. He is FAST but I definitely don't believe he's the best sprinter in the peloton. It was an absolutely INCREDIBLE thing to even get back to the front but it cost him the sprint. I believe Merlier is a better sprinter than Milan. Milan counts on his pure strength and speed but he's not a tactician. It takes more than speed to be a great sprinter. Great sprint by Merlier!!! 🤘🏻🏴
True, Merlier has more tactical sense but Milan is getting better, also thanks to his team who is much better at positioning sprinters than Bahrein last year... And I feel like if Milan is positioned well nobody can come close to his pure power 👊
@@StarryNightGazing well it's a common thing for sprinters to have 2 or 3 good seasons and then maybe 2 or 3 seasons of winning one or 2 here and there and then POOF they struggle to win races after that so if Milan is going to improve he better do it fast cuz not many sprinters have a long winning streak. Cav and Eric Zabel are 2 of the rarities in the sprint world. Milan definitely has power and he is fast but his technical approach has to be improved!! Merlier is already ahead of him with his technical skills so I don't know what to expect from Milan. The only thing he has in his favour is his rare power and that just isn't enough when you are a world class sprinter. Merlier is all around a better sprinter because of his technical approach to the sprints 🤘🏻🏴
@@StarryNightGazing that's quite ironic. I don't think you thought that comment thru. If you're basing how good he is based on his wins at the giro then look at his wins this season. He has more wins than Milan, double the amount. Actually I think it's more than double Milans' wins. In fact Merlier has more wins than any other rider except Pogi. Merlier and Pogi have the same amount of wins this season 🤘🏻🏴
@@StarryNightGazing if you're basing how good a sprinter is from his wins then Merlier is DEFINITELY a better sprinter. Milan is just fast and powerful. That means he's fast but it does NOT mean he's better. Merlier has Milan beat by double (or more than double) the amount of wins so by your own standards Merlier is better. I find that very ironic you would say that cos it does not help your theory in the slightest bit. It actually proves your own theory incorrect 🤘🏻🏴
Why not mention Geschke and Zana - Geschke wore the mountains jersey for some stages (ofc Pogacar had it) and Zana cracked yesterday finishing just outside of top 10 in GC and coming 3rd in the white jersey..
I'd be shocked if he could be competitive in the Tour, honestly. By the Vuelta his peak would be long past. But if anyone could do it it's Pog in a year where Vingegaard is out!
This is the most dominant GC win I have ever seen. Tadej is a generational talent, but UAE also had their A team here bc Tadej wanted the Giro this year. Visma will be much stronger and pressure UAE in TDF, even if Jonas is not on top form. Tadej seems unstoppable this year though.
Thankyou for great giro highlights, was so keen to see this every morning or night from indonesia. Seeing Tadei just blast them all away by almost 10 minutes was incredible. I thought he might win by 5 but 10 is impressive. Looking forward to the TDF, i hope Jonas is ready to compete, would make it an enthralling race to see him and Pog do battle. Have Eastern europe cycle touring vids on my channel, have a look if interested. :-)
Congratulations 🎉 for all winners. Thank you very much for you Great presenters and commemorators We enjoy every year the great races especially The valuta, the Giro and the next Tour Tour de France.
First of all, congratulations to Pogie for winning the GIRO. The team was solid, and above all, I thought it was great that the team power was united as one. I am sure that he will win the Tour again.
My money is on Pog to win the tour. I don't think this Giro win was very hard on him. I think he'll be recovered and in great form for the tour, and Vingegaard won't be back to top form yet.
I hope he wins the tour as well, but I also hope vingegaard will be in form :( I feel like it'd be a lot less exciting otherwise, would probably feel bad for pogi too knowing your biggest rival wasn't in full form
Thank you for the incredible coverage and NOT ONE SPOILER!!!!!!! You guys are awesome and the footage is the best.

Same. My favourite was Alaphilippe. His Breakaways were so exciting
What a grand tour
Great to get a new fan of grand tours! I will never forget when I watched a grand tour for the first time. The 2009 Giro
I wish it was cheaper to watch in the states 😢 I can’t afford to get Max
I agree, fantastic highlights and just in time for my breakfast every morning (NZ here). But sorry, not an exciting race maybe next years TDF...
A great Giro and great coverage from the whole Eurosport team. Bring on the Tour!
What a great Giro. Thanks Eurosport for the amazing coverage
The world keeps telling GT his time over, but here we are with back to back podiums
Rob Hatch once again with the pink jersey for best commentator. Flawless Italian accent and great energy. The best!
The scripts on these recaps are always great. Thanks and keep up the good work in the future.
"what else would you expect on roman streets"🤣
Having crossed the streets in Rome back in 1996, those comments still resonated with me. "So much chaos..."
And to think this is Pogi’s first season outside of the young riders category
Thanks to all concerned - great to see the race, just 10 minutes too short.
What a great Giro and well done to Pogačar and UAE team mates 🏆
Party for Pogacar in Pink perfection!
What a show! I can’t wait for the Tour De France!
Thanks for the highlights! Excellent commentary!!
Pogacar is a monster 👿 in cycling today’s era. So fascinating to witness his success. Congrats. See u next year.
The best climber actually winning the KOM jersey for once... 😅
Thank you Eurosport Cycling!
Thank you for this coverage!

Taddy is a beast. He’ll win the tour easily

Excellent race. Decathlon making a great statement. Pog on top form 👑
Love and respect for G., a thought to the eternal Pozzovivo, and... it's already over.
UAE looks like the old telecom
Is this when we can dare to dream about a grand tour treble 😮

congratiolations pogi and to all riders🎉👏💪
Great tour! Thanks for not spoiling any of the stages.
Side note: does it bother anyone else that pogacar's hair sticks through his helmet? lol

Thanks for doing these! So bummed when GCN took away recaps
Congratulations to the winners 🏆 organisers, good coverage 😮 and ecstatic crowd ❤ let's move on to TdF 😊

Pogas Maximum!
Good coverage! Let me follow the event in under 3 total hours of video.
TARMAC POWER!!!
After such a tough Giro, kudos go to every finisher.
There aren't any real contenders for Pogacar except Vingegaard. So it's no surprise he won the Giro. Atm it's always between Pogi and Vingegaard.
kudus for a great tour as well as a great coverage..

Congrats to POG he destroyed the opposition!
Bravisimo
Is there most combative jersey? Would have liked to see that go to Alaphilippe.
Watched this via Max (HBO) courtesy of Eurosport - we didn't get to see Tadej lift the trophy. Had to come to this UA-cam channel to watch it...
Man I was hoping Milan would take it
am i the only person who watches pro cycling and JOLLY videos? If not then you know what im alluding to...
I need the print at 0:11 for my wall!!
Always a dq. Absolutely no reason to go from the center all the way to his right. They never learn
4:48 Weak stream for Geraint T, no wonder he got 3rd place.
I've been watching these tours since 1975 , but this tour was so boring, i hope the TDF turns out to be better to watch.
Pogus Maximus
Pogus Maximus LOL!
Pogi: Are you not entertained?!
Milan was drafting the car💀
Deustch Telekom jerseys!
Terbaik lah Poggy
Two bike swaps from the top two sprinters in quick succession. Both switching to the motor doping setups…
Don’t talk a load of crap without proof
i came for the music
i can't stand it...if I want to listen to music, I can do that...if I want to watch cycling, music is not needed
Both Merlier and Milan doing a bike change just before the sprint?
Perhaps there battery's were dead ...
Mechanical doping?
🤡🤡🤡
in English? 🤡
this race was ruined by Do..... man .No way he can go this speed. It seems like amstrong and maybe even contador .naaahhhhh
Wouldn be alot better without the linguistic crap of Rob Hatch
excellent coverage team!! same time next year? 🫶🫶🫶
