Hello Linda. These are called Pasteles, it's a Traditional Puerto Rican Dish, typically served during Christmas. Often compared to Mexican Tamales however there's no similarities. It's a green banana and sometimes other root vegetable dumpling flavored with the pork filling juices and stuffed with the stewed pork traditionally wrapped in banana leaves, Boiled in salted water.
