@@susanwhitestyles7285 Thank you for subscribing, welcome to the Evita Family. Yes, At the end of the 24-48 hrs the garbanzos are ready to be cooked. However, if you're not ready to cook them store them in the refrigerator for up to 2 weeks in salted water. In next few days I'll be sharing a Cod Fish and Chickpeas stew recipe to demo how to use the garbanzos and how to cook them. Do you shake the jar at all to distribute the salt and baking soda? Is baking soda not bad to consume?
The Salt and baking soda dissolve in process and baking soda is used in many baking recipes, however, keep in mind that the beans are rinse throughout the process and later cooked to tenderize.
