I love everything about this video. I love how she didn't skimp out on filling. I love that the layers aren't ridiculously huge. I love that she started from the beginning, because I had no idea how I was going to transfer the cake from the disc to the cake board I wanted the cake on. I didn't realize the board goes ON the disc. Great video. I wish I had these smoothing skills. Although, I find that the heat from the scraper changes the color of the buttercream.
I used this method last night and it ended up ok but it didnt start that way lol. I didnt crumb coat, which I should have done, and I should have applied my parchment like you did at the top. I will definitely use your method in the future
You can catch a glimpse of how I removed the acrylic pieces on the latest video “Unicorn Galaxy Cake” at around 8:55 ua-cam.com/video/tnDkPfO7qs0/v-deo.html Hope that helps
If you flip the top layer over to use the bottom of the pan side for the top, you will have a square edge to start with, rather than building it with soft icing.
Hi, currently we only carry the round type on our shop that will level all angles at the same time :) lacupelladesign.com/products/lacupella-round-level-for-perfect-cake-buttercream-icing
It all depends on the diameter of you actual cake. Get .50 if your cake doesn’t shrink after baked or shrinks a little bit. And get .25 if your cake shrinks a bit more

Hi there, unfortunately we have discontinued the warmer but we do have our updated pretty scrapers that you can find on our website, or here: lacupelladesign.com/products/acrylic-buttercream-scraper-12 Hope that helps! :)
They are clear acrylic discs, you can find them here : lacupelladesign.com/products/buttercream-acrylic-round-cake-disks-set-of-2-0-18-or-3-16-inch-thick
I don’t understand why her cakes are domed. She could have used cake strips to prevent that or cut the dome. You can still see that the very top has hardly any icing, which will not look great one cut.
@@helstan maybe just keep your comment to yourself. My pointing that out may potentially helped someone that doesn’t know about cake strips discover the benefits of them. Who did your comment help?
@@annlaceyrn 😂 your commwnt was to help no one. It achieved nothing but belittling the creator. If you wantes to help someone word your comment differently or ya know make ya own video 🤷🏻♀️
Listen little girl… I am not the person to take unsolicited advice from a child. But again, since you decided to try and put me in my place once more, I will comment back for the last time, as I have better things to do as an adult then go back and forth with you. First, before you hit send spell check your work and try to make it grammatically correct (if you can). Second, before you decide to be the Queen of Righteousness and call people out online - think again and don’t. If I felt so compelled I could take you to your knees. Do NOT bother to comment back, as I am not interested in anything that you think you have to say. Now be a good little girl and go play outside… it’s a beautiful day!

I’m still curious how she got it off without putting marks in the sides
Ok. First time ever that I see someone leveling the cake before icing and it actually turns out great. Awesome job.
I meant, not leveling the cake 🙊
@@aldinyz piling on the icing is the trick
It won't look even when it's cut into though. I did cringe a little. Oh well, just means you can't make cake pops with scraps 😅
@@stefaniek5991 I cringed too. 😂😂😂 I was like "that's going to make a horrible looking slice".

You didn’t show us how to remove the other disc

Great vid!
Very helpful. Thank you!
What size disc did you use? Is this a 6inch cake?
May I ask what kind of buttercream you were using? And how much larger is the acrylic board to the cake circle? It works fantastically.
Hello! I use meringue based buttercream. The cake disk I’m using is the 8.25” one, and my cake is slightly smaller than 8” round
Once you have removed the cake and cake card from the acrylic, how do you then attach it to a cake board?
I like to out a bit of a double tape to secure them together :)
You didn’t list the bubble leveler in your tools section. What brand is it and length? Thank you

Do you prefer .25 over .5 in the acrylic discs? I want to order some but wasn’t sure about the thickness

What about the bottom acrylic disk that you didn’t remove ?
My thought exactly
Hi,
Can it be used in whipped cream frosting
Hi, how do you remove the bottom disc please?
Pretty much the same way like how we did the top :)

Thank you so much I will check it out x
Omg thank you so much for this video
You're so welcome!
Dont we have to remove the acrylic board beneath?
Wow !
What size of the cake and the acrylic boards?!
The cake was 8" and the acrylic disks was 8.25".
Perfect 😊
Thanks 😄
Nice, thank you but I miss the moment when you removed the bottom disc. That is a hard part!
Hey great video! Which type of buttercream are you using? Smbc?
Yes SMBC :)
Do you mind sharing your SMBC recipe.. thanks..
❤❤❤
I want the scaper and comb warmer but when I click on the list it says not found

How many inches that cake?just biscuits
The cake is 8” in diameter and about 5” tall.
What is the yellow stuff you used to stick the cake board to the acrylic disc on the bottom?
It’s just bit of a masking tape/painter’s tape to temporarily keep it in place :)
What kind of transparent clear disk are those and where can I find those
They are clear acrylic discs, you can find them here :
lacupelladesign.com/products/buttercream-acrylic-round-cake-disks-set-of-2-0-18-or-3-16-inch-thick
Can you advise how we can remove the board below?
Just run a spatula between the acrylic and cake board and the cake will be free to transfer to any display base
Why didn't you cut the domes off each cake?
COOL G RAPP layout
when remowing the discs, there are cracks in the cream ,why does this happen, can you please inform🙏
Usually because the cream is cold and there are pressure
How many acrylic size ?is 8.5 or 8.25 in ???
Please tell me how size this in video ??
I used 8.25” for this one because the cakes are smaller than 8”
@@Lacupella ok thanks 🥰
Ok how many cake you tell small from 8 in ??? Then is 7 in ?
The cake diameter should be in between 7.50” to 8”
How did you remove the bottom though?
The same technique we use for the top. And it's gonna be easier because you will go in between the acrylic and the cake board :)

Buttercream recipe is please 🙏
Can you share ur bc recipe
This is so beautiful 🥺
How many inches Is your cake ? And how many inches is your dics?
Thank you Loh Mfeka. The cake is 5" tall with 8.25" diameter acrylic disk :).
Why don't you level your cakes before you stack them?
MY QUETION TOO, AND TOO MUCH BUTTERCREAM IN BETWEEN
Why do you need to measure?
What kind of measuring do you mean?
It's a waste of time to leave part of top of cake exposed instead of just putting enough icing on to start with.
