Here’s an explanation of the Bull Demon King animation:
Even Chinese people need to think carefully to understand it, let alone foreigners who haven't read the original work.
The first scene depicts the beginning of the game, where Sun Wukong (the Monkey King) is killed. His body is divided into several parts and given to those who contributed, including his good brother, the Bull Demon King. Why did the Bull Demon King fight alongside the Heavenly Court to kill Wukong? Because he had no choice but to obey fate in order to protect his wife and daughter.
The second scene covers the beginning of the novel "Journey to the West" (it's important to note that the game is a sequel to the novel). In this scene, Sun Wukong and his brother, the Bull Demon King, attack the Heavenly Court together, fighting side by side. Sun Wukong meets Erlang Shen (the one with three eyes) for the first time and says he “might” be the leader, indicating this is their first encounter.
The third scene is also from the novel "Journey to the West." On their journey to the West, they pass by the Bull Demon King’s Flaming Mountain, where they need his wife’s fan to extinguish the fire. However, after Sun Wukong caused havoc in Heaven and was subdued by the Buddha, he was assigned to accompany the monk Xuanzang to the West. This made the Bull Demon King feel that Sun Wukong had sided with the Heavenly Court, causing their relationship to deteriorate. As a result, the Bull Demon King refuses to give the fan. The Heavenly Court then comes to assist, including Nezha, and they fight the Bull Demon King. The Bull Demon King’s wife suggests giving the fan to Sun Wukong and making the Heavenly Court retreat. However, the Bull Demon King doesn’t listen because his lover, the fox spirit, was killed, and many of his subordinates were also killed. The scene with Nezha cutting off the bull’s head shows that, although the Bull Demon King has several lives, he doesn’t die there but is instead subdued.
The fourth scene returns to the beginning of the game, where Sun Wukong is killed. This marks the end of the novel, as the journey to the West concludes. The Heavenly Court, fearing Sun Wukong’s power, orders his execution. Before his death, Sun Wukong tells the Bull Demon King not to touch his body fragments (because the game’s player will kill those who possess his fragments, collect them, and resurrect Sun Wukong). This serves as Sun Wukong’s final piece of advice to his brother, the Bull Demon King.
**P.S.** At the beginning of the game, the headband seen is the one that restricted Sun Wukong’s powers in "Journey to the West." After the journey ends, the Heavenly Court deceives Sun Wukong, and the headband was never removed, leading to the opening scene of the game where the headband reappears. This shows that the Heavenly Court had always been using Sun Wukong, fearing his power and even planning to kill him.

In the animation, the character holding the fan is Iron Fan Princess, the Bull Demon King's original wife. There’s also a character not shown in the animation, the fox spirit, who is the Bull Demon King's lover. The Bull Demon King and the fox spirit have a daughter who appears as the little fox girl in the game (disguised by Red Boy). Although the original novel "Journey to the West" does not mention the Bull Demon King and his lover having a daughter, this is an additional setting introduced in the game.
The fox spirit, the Bull Demon King’s lover, is mentioned in the original novel as being killed by bajie, which is mentioned by bajie in the animation. Because the Bull Demon King has a lover, the relationship between Iron Fan Princess and the Bull Demon King is bad, which is why in the animation, she says they live separate lives.
As for the white-clad man with a conical hat, in the original novel, he is a drinking buddy of the Bull Demon King. Later, in "Journey to the West," when the Heavenly Court comes to hunt down the Bull Demon King, he helps the Heavenly Court and the Sun Wukong and bajie to attack the fox spirit’s lair.
Additionally, he is interested in Iron Fan Princess, a detail added in the game but not mentioned in the original novel. This addition helps explain his actions, as he assists Iron Fan Princess by removing her rival, the fox spirit, whom she dislikes.

if beasts have power, they can be called as Yaoguai. but when they get more and more power, they actually becomes the Xian (or the god). So the fox is yaoguai, but bajie and wukong are not

Ok Jev not a massive commentor but for your own sake to make your time on Wukong more enjoyable, fast travel to the Towers of Karma shrine in Chapter 3, run directly forward from the camera angle at the shrine through the snow till you reach a giant stone pillar. The jade essence drink is behind and it restores a good amount of mana when you use the gourd.

To get the animation at the end of chapter 6 you have to beat the secret boss Erlang, you get to him by visiting all of the secret areas in the game and completing them. After you beat the secret areas go to the great pagoda and there should be a interact on the painting in the middle to fight him. If you just go through and beat the final boss you wont get the animation at the end of the chapter.
Your actually able to do multiple endings in one play through! I did both the bad and the true ending on my first one

There should be 12-13 chapters. But, they spent a lot time and a lot of money to make each chapter, they didn't want to rush it, so that they only publish 6 chapters. I hope they finish ALL 12-13 chapters in another 6 years with freshly injected fund.

Love your playthrough, about the ending animation, its basically a recounting of Journey to the West, Bull and Wukong were sworn brothers, the fought the Heavens together and lost, Wukong eventually got converted, after a few hundred years the main characters (including Wukong and the pig) needed Bull's wife's fan to get pass the Flaming Mountain, meanwhile Bull was trying to eat one of those characters (A living saint whose meat can grant Yaoguais true immortality), with the help of the Heavens main characters defeated and decapitated Bull (the demon didn't actually die from decapitation), pig brutally killed Bulls lover a fox demon, and another deity took away his son Red Boy, they left him a broken bull hence his state in the game.

For western people who are confused about this part, there are three scene in this animation:
1. Before the start of journey to the west with his master, wukong was trying to fight against the god court with his friends, and Bull demon King is his best brother(they study together at school). But finally, they failed and wukong was freezed by the mighty Buddha and God court for 500 years. That’s the first wrong choice wukong said about Bull demon king.
2. Wukong then admit his life and believe he will be free after the journey to the west. So he follow his master and peers start the journey. And they meet Bull demon king and his son Red Boy, BDK thought wukong betray them and fight them demons. He choose to help Red Boy to stop the journey. (BDK fight for his family in this scene and beheaded by Nezha, he has 72 transformation, which in novels means 72 lives, so he still alive even lost the head, and he finally surrendered). Then he failed again and his son was forced to follow Buddha, his lover Fox was killed by Bajie. That’s his second wrong choice.
3. Wukong finished his journey and became Buddha, and realized he’s still under god court and Buddha’s control. God court tried to kill wukong because his power is toot strong that would threat the Court. They asked BDK’s help and he chose to help the God court. However, that makes BDK’s life even worse after wukong’s death.(demon without powerful wukong, the group became even weaker.) that’s his third wrong choice.

Not sure if you done it yet in this vid i haven't watched the full vid yet but if you go back to chapter 2 and go to where you fought the First Prince of the Flowing Sands Boss the big rat in the cave, once you're there use the big headbutt spirit Wandering Wight on the werid looking wall where you fight the boss then go inside grab the item and go back to chapter one and go to Outside the Forest shrine there is a waterfall on the left side of the place, once you're there use the item and there will be a really cool/hard boss well maybe not for you because you're abit ahead now but you can do this in all chapters i think I'm not to sure because I've only just got to chapter 4 so im not sure if there is one in everyplace or not but i guess there is. Chapter two is by Rockrest Flat shrine on the right and chapters 3 is on the Turtle Island shrine on the back right of the turtle. If anyone else knows where the rest are let jev know because they're really cool and sometime annoying fights and it would be funny to watch haha

No spoilers, but make sure after you beat chapter six to select continue before starting ng+ and go to the Great Pagoda( the room with all the murals on the walls) because there is another final boss fight there. Easily the hardest fight in the game too

Resolute strike only works like a normal varied combo at the end of a light attack animation. It’s kinda weird because it’s not a cancel you can just use to interrupt your own combo. It’s part of its own normal combo. It just has to happen to come out when an attack hits you. You can try to time your light attacks to line up the heavy for just the right timing but that’s super difficult.

You should fight erlang and the four heavenly kings in chapter 3. Return to Chapter 3's Pagoda Realm to find him and head to the Great Pagoda Keeper Shrine.
Climb the stairs and speak with the Bodhisattva Maitreya, who will unlock a secret passageway. This leads to a hidden area called Secret: Mount Mei, where Erlang, The Sacred Divinity, will be waiting for you.
Yaksha king is one of my favorite bosses, really fun fight that took me around 15 tries

Jev incase you wanted any more to do in the game, in every chapter leading up to chapter 4, there is a Loong (Dragon) bossfight, they lead up to a final one that beating it will earn you one of the best staffs in the game, along with a transformation thats way better than your fire guy. If youre curious just look up "Yellow Loong"

you may think back and play it again and again in futrue 10 years especially when you in trouble and you will learn from it.
Red Boy's background is a mystery even from readers of the original novel, there are hints here and there relating him to the heaven, but all just speculation. I often mistake him to NeZha, the boy with the lance and fiery wheels on his feet in the animation, since both of them are fire based. I wonder if they're related, as this chapter's bosses are full of twins / duo fights. Maybe that's a hint, no way they show NeZha and his father in animation for no reason.

Red Boy (all versions) is definitely my favorite fight so far i died so many times but i loved it for some reason he actually test your skills.
This was such a cool boss, probably my favourite in terms of gameplay.

I just updated the FSR/DLSS in the game using the Cyberpunk 2077 mod and it worked like a charm. I get 60fps everywhere on a 2080ti and 9700k on very high settings.
