By purchasing he's supporting other creators and also reducing his carbon footprint as the people he buys from are knowledgeable in the 3d printing field therefore wasting less plastic with failed prints...
@@LP-gq8ib honestly I feel like most sold 3d prints are poorly printed with very obvious artifacts high layer heights and too low of infill in an effort to keep costs down. like in the case of this pistol it should have been printed with 100% infill and a lower layer height. Yeah and so can anybody who knows basic machine skills. Lol guns arent complex. Put a bullet in a barrel and hit it with a hammer and there you go thats basically how a double barrel shot gun works.
One trick I've picked up while etching damascus steel is that you can apply cold bluing solution to the steel after washing off the etchant, but before removing the resist. This will darken the etch substantially and maximize your contrast. Not sure what you could use to get a similar effect in Aluminum, but it's a great trick.
Honestly, I like these videos over the professional ones. Yes, they're just as good, but this allows us to see a completely different perspective on how these episodes are done. Seriously, props to you Adam. :)
I've been experimenting with acid etching lightsabers, and I find the best solution for etching aluminum is copper sulfate and salt. It's a lot faster and less toxic than the ferric. Way easier to dispose of as well

Momma Savage sorting Legos in the back at 10:23
I've been playing that game in my Oculus Quest and also watching your VR episodes ! Top notch content.
9:39 Adam realizes he wanted to etch the red part, first he thinks he'll have to ask for another vinyl set, but then he thinks he can make an outline with electric tape and It would look nice so he continues with the video.
Definitely
11:00 I know that I should be paying attention at what he's saying, but his mom sorting Lego on the back is so cute!
Adam: *throws something at garbage can and misses*
Maggie: “Is it food?”
300DBenz and mom doesn’t even flinch.
I have a steel pastry roller as a brayer, mostly used to squeeze out the last bits of glue in a tube.
Bless Maggie. She looks so confused at the end :D
Hey Adam, just wanted to offer my condolences to you and the team over Grants passing. Loved watching you guys on Mythbusters. My thoughts are with you all. RIP Grant Imahara.
Thanks again for the distraction during these odd times
Happy Birthday Adam!! You are on a special roster of people keeping me sane right now!
We’re all gonna miss grant 😭 gone too soon
Adam you truly are one of the most inspiring makers in the world- thank you for documenting all of these marvelous things!
10:15 and onwards... is your mom _still_ sorting Lego bricks in the background?
11:50 yup, sure looks like it.
I love it how she is still doing the lego in the background!! 11:00
I want the 3d print STL for that pistol grip he has before he made it metal! Lol
Hey Adam. A cool tool for your mill that you could get is a 3” carbide brush. They’re a little pricey but I use them in my machine shop to finish our parts. It makes a nice brushed finish with little effort
10:31 Is your mother, in the background, still sorting your Legos?! Hahaha
ive been watching adams for years, i cant be the only one that feel like he never aged
8:12 I find it funny how she pronounces Cricut as cricket
I've not heard that pronunciation for it
Doesn't the logo have little antennae on the "C"?
It’s super common both ways
Way back in the days when they were for scrapbooking they were pronounced Cricket. Then they got more widely known in other hobbies & you got the 2 ways of pronouncing it. The logo has a crickets head on it.
Adam it's okay to get confused about certain things after the passing of someone so eternally near and dear to us all. Don't beat yourself up. We love you,, dude.
"It's a Nice Gun, I'll Give You That. But the Engraving Gives You No Tactical Advantage Whatsoever"
Unless you were planning to auction it off as a collector's item. And you're forgetting one more basic thing…
Suddenly I realized that I was smiling the entire video 😄✨ his enthusiasm is contagious!
That pistol whip is really cool
10:30
Something’s off
Logan Muller wdym
The look Maggie gives you at 20:35 is priceless !
When you realize Adam could probably just make a real gun.😳
He's made things far more dangerous than a real gun MANY times 😂
@@masonfino4762 an inert object is dangerous?
@@randyman78596 *any object regardless of it's shape or innocuous function can become very dangerous when used in a manner not intended or recommended in the manufactures users manual*
*much like a goat that has been weaponized and then left to its own devices can be dangerous*
Yeah and so can anybody who knows basic machine skills. Lol guns arent complex. Put a bullet in a barrel and hit it with a hammer and there you go thats basically how a double barrel shot gun works.
@@randyman78596 nerve gas seems quite dangerous, no?
One trick I've picked up while etching damascus steel is that you can apply cold bluing solution to the steel after washing off the etchant, but before removing the resist. This will darken the etch substantially and maximize your contrast. Not sure what you could use to get a similar effect in Aluminum, but it's a great trick.
Normal people: What is the point in that?
My nerdy friends and I: aw hell yeah
the reveal on the masking ...... .. 100% satisfied
Way easier to dispose of as well
I love how he mesed up the ingraving and fixed it and turned out even better then intended
There is so much love around the world for you Adam. If you need to take time we will be right here when you get back.
That was so satisfying to watch, I am a german graphic designer and as Adam said the Jane will vectorize the drawing I just have loved it before it was done, Adam you are so cool, and your gun looks so heavy, is now more doing sports instead of playing videos games❤️
That moment, when you finally remove the mask to reveal the final product, that is what makes all the work worth it. So, so satisfying!
The slow zoom when he’s trying to figure out which part is etched is hilarious!! Great editing team; love the ODBs ❤️
