The stroke of midnight at Skansen. Celebrate the New Year with us. Traditionally, SVT celebrates the New Year on the Solliden stage at Skansen. Skansen is the oldest open-air museum and zoo in Sweden, located on the island Djurgården in Stockholm, Sweden. It was opened on 11 October 1891 by Artur Hazelius to show the way of life in the different parts of Sweden before the industrial era.
Nikki Amini and Micke Leijnegard invite you to a sparkling New Year's celebration at Skansen. Alfred Tennyson's "New Year's Bell" is read by Tomas von Brömssen. The music is composed by, among others, Sissel Kyrkjebø, Lasse Holm, Alba August, Kalle Moraeus, Gunilla Backman, Johan Boding and LaGaylia Frazier, accompanied by Johan Granström's orchestra.

Koppången lyrics in English
=========================================
There is stillness and silence, as the ground is colored white
From the safe, old church the song is flowing out
I have paused at the road to rest for a while
And was caught by the borderland that unites night and day
And a ray of light behind the arched window frame
Has united those spirits that are here in time with us
And I know that those who have left us have understood that we are
Like flickering flames as long as we are here
And there among twinkling stars that fade one by one
Life comes really close, like a glimpse of truth
We are prisoners in time, like a palm print
On a frosty old window given mercy by the passing of time
For a second I am eternal and then I know nothing more
Only this, that I live as fully as any other
I am here and in the middle of a frozen road there is still warmth
Even as the snow starts falling and the sky turns gray
There is stillness and silence as the hymn fades out
But I carry the old words in my heart just as before
And I sing to the heavens, maybe someone else listens
"Hosanna in the highest," then I start to walk
And I go to the others, I want to feel Christmas peace
I want to believe that He was born and exists with us in time
It is Christmas and there is a child in me that wants to think that it happened,
And that lights a candle every Advent Sunday

Thank you so much
I would like to thank you for your information enjoyed seeing that, but I must tell you but because of my age it doesn’t mean that I’m I’ve had, I’m 86 but I’m still young anyway the Lord has been very good to me and I still have feelings❤❤❤❤
The only trouble with being married to this lady, as you’d never sleep, I would keep looking at her face all day all night❤
Thank you Sissel for being who you are. In a sick & troubled world you're a shining light. We try day by day to make things better. We try to cheer people up in the space in which we live. Really it's all we can do. Your venue is vast as it should be; most of us trudge along trying to push back the boundaries of darkness. And we do see flashes of light. A Native Indian lady with her little child standing ahead of me in the line at McDonalds must have seen the spirit tree on my necklace & told me to go ahead of her in the line. I was humbled but comforted at the same time. It was the connection you see. A man, again a Native man, was sitting on the sidewalk looking glum. I said hello & asked if I could share a $5 dollar bill with him. He stood up & said, "Yes, we should share." I could tell you stories all night. I stopped & touched an old library building. Just a connection. It was donated by Andrew Carnegie in 1904 & Dad, when he was 10 years old, knew Carnegie. My granddad was one of his gardeners at Skibo Castle just north of Inverness. And was thinking of my Uncle Jim who died of wounds inflicted in the Boer War around 1900. New Years Eve seems to bring back memories & impressions. Blessings to you & all of your family. We are blessed to live in northern countries where we can taste freedom & live our lives in peace. Ciao
