#blametoypolloi. I went a little crazy, didn't I. I had to sell a bunch of other stuff to make room and offset the cost. As for the background in the photos, those are the GTP space walls in the 6in scale. Right now it's my Black Series 1/12 scale diorama. I need to come up with something more Kenner style like you have made for the AT-AT and Death Star Trash Compactor base. I am not sure what though.
Nice display! I, also, I'm not opposed to reproduction weapons or figures. I have quite a few Stan Solo products and they are excellent! It sounds like I'm a lot older than you - I was 10 in 1978 and most of my collection is what one would term as vintage. As you can guess, I was in high school when ROTJ came out, so I missed out on most of the expensive figures. I am not opposed to "hot-rodding," rebuilding or restoring a toy. David at Toy Polloi has been a great help in many instances. If you care to take a look, you can see some of the restorations and alterations I have done to several ships and figures.
I find it rewarding to clean up and restore vintage Kenner figures for my collection, returning them to their original beauty. Absolutely agree with your sentiments on collecting - as I love creating customs as well. I've never purchased a repro, but I'd buy a Vlix if I found one at a decent price - love if the Hasbro Retro line released him!
@@zarnistastudios I love seeing people being creative and thinking out of the box with their collection. It takes what we experienced as children to a whole new level today. Awesome
I want new decals for my R2 units. Mine died a long time ago and my dad had some white blank stickers that I used, along with some felt pens, to make new ones...back in 1983...yeah, you know how well that went! :D
Nicely done. I'm always at odds whether to touch up my figures as I like the charm of the played with look from 40 odd years ago. Nice video soundtrack too 👍
A lot of people are against restoring and repros. If you're doing it for your own personal collection, I see nothing wrong with it. I got my figures as a kid and they are well played with, so some of them had issues. I've touched up the paint on a few and have gotten a couple of repro capes and droid stickers.
Your attitude and sentiments on collecting are perfect. Not everyone has an unlimited budget. I too have gotten many items from Smith Lord Creations (we were never looked down on for where we got our toys when we were growing up). I really enjoyed your video and your collection is beautiful. Dave is a great guy over at Toy-Polloi and Tony at Analog Toys is wonderful, too.
I have no problem with people buying the reproduction weapons to complete their own collection for display. I just have a problem with the shady sellers on eBay who try to pass off the repro stuff as original at original prices and then if you catch them they just say that they aren't an expert and you get what you get. In the old days the reproduction stuff was gray or made from a more dense plastic and sank in water. It was easy to tell from the original stuff. Now you need a microscope, micrometer, and scale that weights to the 100th ounce. It just makes collecting that much less fun.
No one wants people to get ripped off. With that in mind, only purchase from reputable dealers and there are plenty of them. And every buyer needs to do their research BEFORE they buy. The recreation figures and packaging are clearly marked. As for weapons.... I see those like tires on a car. Replaceable. I would rather have the figure than the weapon.
Completely agree my friend, everyone should collect what they want, free from judgment and demands of purists, I am a keen collector of star wars myself with a mixture of vintage and reproduction, 100% agree with you, keep up the good work, would love for you to check out my newly started channel Thanks
Vintage Chewbacca is one of the cheapest vintage figures you can buy. You can get a complete vintage for the price of a Retro. Not doing your proper research.
Your collection, your rules - truer words never spoken
Thank you.
You've got a really nice collection building up. I love the background as well. The wall looks great to display them against.

Hear, hear! My number one rule for collecting is to get things that bring me joy; it looks like your collection meets that standard admirably!
Thank you.
These figures look awesome. I love restoration of old vintage figures.
Same here!

Great stuff! Yes Stan Solo is amazing. I have quite a few of his Items. And Thank God for Toy Polloi. Saving toys across the world.

Great video and collection. Those droids are Toy Smuggler approved. Two thumbs up.
Thank you my friend! I appreciate that.

Congratulations on the 100 Subs. You'll be at 1k before you know it!
Thank you. I hope so. :) I appreciate all the help and positive energy. I hope I bring value to our collecting community.
Hi Toy Polloi, I love your vids!
Nicely done. I'm always at odds whether to touch up my figures as I like the charm of the played with look from 40 odd years ago. Nice video soundtrack too 👍
Thank you. I agree.
I also enjoy the charm of toys that have been played with, as there is some history there. I also don't mind restorations either...I LOVE TOYS!!! 😁
This is excellent!
Thank you sir. Your video struck a cord with me. And EVERY collector should feel welcome.
Awesome video the final products really do look great!!!
Thank you. That is very kind.
100% agree! Collecting for the love of a thing x
Great looking collection!
Thank you.
What you are doing is very commendable. No different from people hired to touch up master works of art. You are helping preserve the past. Keep it up!
Thank you. I think saving toys is a good thing too.

I agree. Very well said. I am glad you have your originals.

Agreed! Thank you. Collecting is such a wonderfull hobby and we need to accept everyone at all price points. The more the merrier. Be well.
Great collection - thanks for sharing!
Retroblasting pointed me this way, awesome video. Subbed 👍
That was very generous. The whole Retroblating team really does amazing work. Thank you for the sub. Welcome.
Great video 👍
Thank you
Did you replace the blasters for your Retro Han and Leia with repro? Their actual ones they can’t hold.
I actually use poster tack to keep them in hand. It works ok
Hey great video, great collection with brilliant background, well done 👍🏼👍🏼
Thank you sir, for everything!!
Excellent video. You have a pretty cool collection! :)
Thank you. I really enjoy my collection. It makers me happy to see it ask I go off to work in the morning. Be well.
Repro junk is not my thing but every collector is welcome to do their collections as they see fit
We will agree to disagree on the term "junk" :) And I am glad we agree that everyone may collect as they please. Be well!
Excellent
Thank you so much 😀
How did you get the paint on his nose to match his face?
I had to mix a few colors. I started with Vallejo flesh color and added a little white and yellow till it was close.
Great video my Friend
Thank you.
I was recommended this video exactly a year later haha!
Welcome. We are glad you are here. Roght on time. Cheers!
@@zarnistastudios thank you! I feel very welcome, thank you!

Well I was speaking about the core group. But I can see how you saw it another way. Be well.
