    I am guitarist but I have always wondered how violinists structured their fingering technique. So, thank you for solving a mystery.

    I somehow wanted to learn playing the violin, I found it. I played the guitar and the finger on the strings blends. I love listening to classical music.

    This is something new to me but my friend that plays violin just mentioned that to me about finger patterns. Now I know that it is a useful tool to play faster and not just to memorise the individual notes 1 by 1. Interesting ...

    Professor, your insights into keeping left hand fingers and strings clear of each other when playing arpeggiated chordal patterns would be much appreciated. You have small, precise fingertips, but we are not all so lucky! Your videos are the finest violin tutorials on UA-cam.

    What an excellent video.. I wonder why didn't my child's teacher taught scales like this? It confused us both and my child now depends so much on the book and finger numbering from his teacher for scales. I wish this is taught at every level.

    Dear Professor, I would like to ask your suggestions about setup to achieve more clarity on the left hand. Somehow I feel that when I was playing a "cheap" violin my articulation was clear specially in the lifting process, do you think that this can be related to the height of the strings? I refer to simple legato passage as you show in this video. I play almost everything and I can't have back that "click" on my lifting motion in my schradieck anymore, I seriously doubt it can be a matter due to be in shape. Sorry about the long comment and bad English.

    • @ViolinClassUSA
      @ViolinClassUSA  4 роки тому

      Yes, it may have to do with super-high strings. Clarity depends on the speed of lifting the fingers off the string... But if you cannot depress the (thicker) string to the fb, then the notes would also be fuzzy...

    Hello professor
    I have very skinny fingers that when I put my fingers together the knuckles go inward. The point is when I want to put my 2nd and 3rd finger together which seems to be the easiest pattern, I cant move my 3rd finger and my 1st finger moves instead so when I try to simultaneously put my 2nd and 3rd finger on the violinthere is a space between them
    Do you know what should I do? Thank you

    Dear professor, recently I watched your "MILSTEIN" video and I succeed to make my pinky rounded. Since then I watch your videos and follow it. In this video, I would like to ask you, I have followed your instructions about finger patterns part 1 and I did it, but when I try to apply on violin, my fingers' tip are struggling to move closer, especially pattern 1 & 2 together, and my 2 & 3 finger struggling to make distance. Do you have any solution or tips to fix it?? Sorry for long comment and bad English.
    Regards from Indonesia.
