I think the reason Vegeta mastered SSJ3 way faster than Goku is because Goku trained it in the otherworld and wasn’t fully aware of the drawbacks since he was dead and didn’t drain as much energy

Super Sayian 3 was my favorite transformation when it was introduced but after that it became useless. Right away I wished they was one more Arc were that transformation got used and got the justice it deserved
It always bothered me that Goku wasn’t in SS3 when he threw the Spirit Bomb on Kid Buu. They missed the one time SS3 could’ve killed an arc villain and SS1 just stole the spotlight after it already defeated Freeza. SS3 would’ve showed that Kid Buu was so powerful that Goku needed to go all out to finish him off. Now it looks like Goku actually held back against the final villain of the series
If I’m not mistaken you can only use the spirit bomb when your heart/soul is pure without malice or anger. And to be in super saiyan it’s considered aggressive and malicious and would interfere with the positive ki that he would need to create the spirit bomb. Hope this helps

Kid buu began to push it back because goku was basically exhausted which is when dende use the final wish to restore gokus ki and with that he was able to super saiyan and push it back. He didn’t fire a beam or create another one. Also I’m pretty sure when he fought the android he absorbed the spirit bombs energy if I’m not mistaken Plus dragon ball z movies are not cannon.

I thought it was interesting that Vegeta fights completely different in SSJ3 - he kicks a lot more kinda like vegito vs using ki blasts like he typically does. I can see that being bc of the ki drain from SSJ3

I don't think we will get a new version of SS4 but if we did they would probably pay tribute to the GT version and include some design callbacks. I think the only other new thing we will get is an obvious new fusion between Goku and Vegeta either a kid Vegito who's SS3 now or a totally new fusion for them.

Vegeta achieved the first canonical SS3 win EVER and I love it. Goku stopped the battle with Good Boo because he was just buying time, Gotenks ran out of stamina against Evil Boo, Goku ran out of stamina against Pure Boo, Goku got absolutely rocked by Beerus, Goku merely sparred with Trunks and used the spar to show off a flash of SSG, and SS3 wasn't enough against Top. It took thirty years, but SS3 finally scored its first real W with Vegeta.

Nah it's foreshadowing ultra ego. I mean ultra ego has no eyebrows. I think what we will find out is that ultra ego is ssj3 with destruction energy. The smaller hair vegeta has is signaling a higher level of mastery at containing the ki, but the fsct it's still big is proof it still has a stmina drain issue for him. I think that he'll discover destruction energy is able to take the ssj3 form to complete mastery unlike regular ki, which is why his hair doesn't get big. Then as far as how he gets stronger with damage, i beleive that he is caoable of coating his body in a sort of spirit fission "armor" while in this form. This means if he gets punched he absorbs ki dorctly from the body, and with a ki blast he absorbs part of the blast itself. I think it gives the form of ultra ego a much needed explanation and ties in it's similarties to ssj3 nicely.

For the longest time Super Saiyan 3 was always one of the coolest transformations but it we rendered ineffective, didn’t gain any wins, and somehow later transformations offered more power without none of the SS3 drain drawbacks It’s nice to see the form get justice after 30 years

I think that's exactly it. I think it's foreshadowing for ultra ego too. Bassically the hair get's bigger to contain the ki, vegeta can contain more of it so his hair is slightly smaller, this means it drains slower. Ultra ego also has no eybrows just like ssj3. My theory is that ultra ego combines ssj3 with pure destruction energy the same way ssj blue combines ssj with god ki. The nature of destruction energy allows a farther level of mastery of the ssj3 form than regular ssj bringing his his hair down to ssj2 size.
I always figured Super Saiyan 3 was given that energy drain issue because it was supposed to be the most powerful form for the series before it ended. Then of course we later get even more powerful forms like SS4, SSG, SSB, UI, UE & Beast which makes SS3’s main drawback seem antiquated.
My headcannon is that Vegeta's vanity and egotistical natural kept him wanting to show SSJ3. I can see bulma making a comment about his lack of eyebrows and / or him just not liking his proud royal face being stripped of eyebrows and that being enough the prince needed to not show the form again.

People forget the plan to beat Buu was all Vegeta ,Goku is better to adapt during combat arguably Vegeta is better at planning.And i do agree that he did prefer to evolve ssj2 instead but this also makes obvious that he needs to test ssj3 himself in order to do so,it would be silly for him to see Goku use the form in one battle and be like "I Will never use it , i just assume its useless. I think that's exactly it. I think it's foreshadowing for ultra ego too. Bassically the hair get's bigger to contain the ki, vegeta can contain more of it so his hair is slightly smaller, this means it drains slower. Ultra ego also has no eybrows just like ssj3. My theory is that ultra ego combines ssj3 with pure destruction energy the same way ssj blue combines ssj with god ki. The nature of destruction energy allows a farther level of mastery of the ssj3 form than regular ssj bringing his his hair down to ssj2 size.
