Welcome to the show! Yes, regular viewers will know that Dan and I approach direct guitar tones (those that don’t involve a guitar amp and speaker) with some considerable caution. The thought of giving up our beloved amps, speakers (and volume purely) for convenience and practicality is still one that fills us with trepidatious fear and foreboding.
However. This is reality for a lot of people, either by choice or necessity and thusly every once in a while we’ll dip our toes back into the direct water to see if it's any warmer.
This video was prompted by me (Mick here, hello) helping a mate just recently who made the complete direct transition a few years back with an all-in-one modeller, but now wants to return to a traditional analogue pedalboard with an amp and speaker solution on board. So here we are…
