The series lives and dies by the performance of Jodie Comer. The producers of the Bond franchise could only dream of producing a character like Villanelle.
OMG ... genius idea! Daniel Craig and Jodie Comer in "The Girl Who Dared" Unlike previous Bond movies - the pre-title sequence shows Jodie performing an assassination ... climbing a skyscraper in a catsuit, and escaping via speedboat in a thrilling action sequence set in Lisbon. After Beyonce's anthemic opening title song, "The Girl Who Dared", the opening scenes establish that Daniel Craig's 007 must track down and kill Jodie Comer's "Agent B". There then follows a cat & mouse game of wits between the two assassins, for the whole movie. Two professionals - each one tasked with killing the other - both falling in love with each other because of their passion for their job. A doomed tragic romance where only one can survive. You are so right - Jodie Comer's Villanelle is played so well that she would easily be a draw in a future Bond movie.

Spycraft in this is totally unrealistic but I would rather have an entertaining show than one that bores us with realism. IRL, no spy in upper management is going to leave their desk, follow a known assassin at close range with no weapons, no backup, not even tell anyone what he's doing etc. Within the context of the show, this completely worked despite the unrealism. His sudden realization that he's stumbled into a trap hits him while the audience is saying at the same time "This doesn't seem like any thing a competent intel operative would do." He was having a good time reliving his youth and treating it like a fun field trip and forgot that he hadn't been in the field in decades and was rusty and reckless.
For me Sandra Oh seems like she’s just playing herself, and not the character; whereas Jodie Comer is so diverse as an actress, you wouldn’t know what she sounded like in real life!
Jodie Comer portray is exceptional, she crazy good with the accents and she gets all the crazy over the top mannerisms without being cartoonish, not even for one bit. The character feels completely real.
When I first started watching The White Princess I knew she was a talent to watch. Luckily I found Remember Me, Thirteen, Doctor Foster and eventually Killing Eve. Today I learned of My Mad Fat Diary and Bovril Pam. I have never fan-girled before but I am now, with zero shame. Great young actress!!
She's a natural over any accent, and I love how Jodie Comer can look stunning in every wig and outfit she wears. She's amazing 😍 and deserves a lot of credit. I envy not being on the set, to experience the fun and laughs they had behind the camera. Jodie Comer is currently my star crush 😍 ♥ ♥ and I'll support her through any role she plays.
This woman's personality reminds me of my wife who passed away. Breaks my heart, and makes me happy at the same time. God, I miss her so much! She was so petite like Keri Russell, with a face and eyes of a young Michelle Pfeiffer. She was Czech, but born in the states like me. She had the most beautiful bright grey/blue eyes. I loved how the way she would cuddle. We were so in sync. When you sleep in the same bed with someone, you'll have moment when you want to hold each other, and moments when you just want space. And she was the only one who ever always wanted cuddle/space the same times at night. Just as I'm sleeping and thinking, "God, I want to hold her so bad right now, but don't want to wake her..." she would lean close for me to hold her. And just as I was getting too hot thinking, "... I need some space, but don't want her to think I don't love holding her.", she would turn over and move away. That's how everything was with her. It was so perfect, I can't believe she's gone. She was so funny, but I made her laugh just as much. I still only sleep on my side of the bed. I miss her so much.
i still remember the reason why i watched this at the first place. because of sandra oh from greys anatomy cause she's brilliant. no offense eve but i've fallen inlove with villanelle. 😂
