    Great resume techniques. Job one is not being rejected. Recruiters have lots of little rules they follow that are an instant reject. Often a typo or the use of a correctly spelled word that has the wrong meaning, can hugely diminish one’s chances (your vs you’re etc) Spell checks by the computer and copy edits by multiple people are crucial.

    Thank you friend, I followed your template, thanks to your displayed key commands I was able to familiarize myself with InDesign and created an amazing resume. I personally like how the design is minimalistic yet elegant therefore I don't need a color printer

    I always loved the content you posted, am did the exact same thing for my resume, but I got to know the resume was not in ATS formatting and that was the reason I didnt get any calls from the employers, Please take care of this

      Thank you for the kind comment and I apologize for it not being in ATS - We were able to find a workaround
      Right click the PDF export, open with word - it will keep the formatting. Then re-submit it to ATS. It is working for us as the ATS was able to pick everything up.

    Not to sound too snarky, but I find it perplexing that there's a prevalent disregard for spelling, grammar, semantics, proper punctuation, and the use of syncategorematic words (e.g., 'a', 'the', 'and', 'or', 'in', 'at') in our current era. Each day, I encounter supposedly 'professionally written' articles riddled with major errors of omission or other grammatical missteps. It's baffling how someone can attend Harvard yet struggle to spell 'Recognition.' I also share the sentiment with another commenter below; including a bleed is essential when you're printing. Thanks for the tutorial all the same.

    • @blouefish

      How do I include bleed? Is it just a setting I could simply look up?

    great to see your approaches and techniques. I noticed you dont use paragraph styles or keep text within one text block and duplicate the multiple text blocks - do you find it easier to do this rather than maintaining a single text block and paragraph styles

    • @lyh_studio
      @lyh_studio  Рік тому +2

      I think there's two reasons for this. First off, I do find the flexibility easier personally. Sometimes I would have paragraph styles made and still end up changing them at some point. Second point being me wanting this to be a easy to follow and concise tutorial for people. I feel like text blocks and paragraph styles deserve their own video.

    Great video and explanation. I have a question don't we include an "about Us" were we describe where are we from or idk something about us? is that necessary or it's a waste of time? thx

    • @lyh_studio
      @lyh_studio  Рік тому +3

      Hey man, great question. I think it's a waste of time because it takes up precious real estate from your resume but the "about me" section also doesn't really hold any weight. The employer has no way to verify anything you say. If they ask for a cover letter, that's where you'd put that information.

    • @lyh_studio
      @lyh_studio  10 місяців тому +2

      I think it depends on how much space you have left in your resume. If a lot then yes definitely put it in, but if you already have a lot of experience etc or if the job doesn't require it then maybe it's not worth it.

      If you had to put a picture of yourself into this format, you can think about shortening the gray line and fitting it into the top right corner.

    Thanks for the tutorial! I have a question about the skill section, I basically used all of my programs for the same amount of years, like since I started Uni so 2+ years, however, some Programs like Photoshop i used daily and know pretty well, but f.e. Blender i only used for some of my projects and only know the basics of, so putting both of them in the 2+ year section feels wrong, is there any other way I can kind of rank my software skills?

    • @lyh_studio
      @lyh_studio  Рік тому +2

      Sure, great question! In that case I personally would just rank it in sections - Beginner, Proficient, and Expert, you can put a bracket behind the program for how many years if you'd like
